- Little Billy came to us after being hit over the head. He was confused and disoriented and the only thing that would calm him down was a human touch.
We thought he might have a neurological problem and it could be bigger than we could deal with on the island. So we sent him to the vet hospital on the mainland to get him properly checked out.
After his long journey, Billy had some good news to share...

I noticed reading through the comments asking how the people in Thailand are so cruel towards the dogs. I vist Phuket a lot to stay with my family who live there. I personally have seen much kindness from the locals who leave food and water out for the dogs, and this is from people who have very little to give in the first place. Life is often hard for the locals, they work incredibly long hours in intense heat with poor pay. I saw a young lady on her scooter driving around feeding the stray dogs around the remote area in the hills. Here in the UK cruelty to dogs takes place but often behind closed doors, where the dog's cries go unheard. It's sadly everywhere on our planet, mankind needs to learn humanity, Billy is an inspiration for all, that no matter what horrific suffering we have endured it is the learning to trust once again that gives us hope for a better future.
Absolutely. People can be so lovely towards them. The nature of our work often means that we show the worst of humanity - but it's often lovely locals who call us or do their best to look after them before we find them - despite their limited resources.
Billy is adorable. I keep thinking, if I had been there I would have had no problem holding him 24/7...poor little guy. Thankfully, due to everyone involved, he's on the mend.
There are no words to describe how incredible I think you all are. A true inspiration to anyone who loves animals, you guys are the real deal. Great to see the difference in Billy. It was heartbreaking to see his confusion and anxiety when he arrived at the land. Thanks to all who spent time with him and held him. His life will improve even more when the cataract operations are done. It was interesting to see a longer video giving us a perspective on the process of getting a call about a dog injured and all work and worry that follows in the weeks ahead. ❤️🐾
Taking care of a sick and injured dog can be difficult and very taxing. Thank you to Niall and his wonderful friends for their love, patience and hard work. All effort is for Billy's recovery and wellness so he can have a better life.
