I'm a newbie to Thailand (first trip this year) and I need to ask a couple of questions. Some of them may sound silly. But hopefully one of you guys in the comments (that have been to Pattaya several times) can help me out. I would really appreciate it. 1. When I fly into the Airport in Bangkok, what all do I need when I go to immigration? If I'm only there for a two week holiday, do I only have to show them my Passport? Or do I have to fill out paperwork for a 30 day vacation Visa or something like that? If so, where do I get that paperwork so I don't have to stand in the long line twice? 2. I have a lay-over in Japan for 4 hours before I get on my connecting flight to Thailand......does this mean I have to go to immigration at the Japan Airport too? Even though I'm not staying in Japan, just there to catch another flight? 3. Is it a good idea to arrive in Thailand with some Thai Baht already on hand? I can exchange money for Thai Baht back home before I leave....my bank will do it for free, it just takes a day or two for it to come in. Good idea or not really necessary?? 4. Can you trust the safe-box in your hotel room? I'm either staying at the Queen Vic on Soi 6 or the Beach Front Resort on Soi 4.....so how trustworthy are the room safes?? 5. If a girl works in a beer bar (and is available to be bar-fined)....does this mean she is of legal age?? If not, how do I make sure the girl is over18?? Thanks for any help you can offer.
1. Depends on what country you are from. Assuming USA a visa is not required for 2 week stay. 2. No unless you decide to go for a stroll outside the airport. 3. You can save some money if your bank will do it for free. It’s a personal choice. Not a biggie. 4. I’ve been many times never had an issue with safety box, but I wouldn’t put a Rolex in there either…. (Depends on level of hotel, and use your best judgment) 5. Minors aren’t allowed to work in bars so it’s safe to assume so however bars periodically get busted for not doing their due diligence… Thats the bars fault and the government knows tourist aren’t going around checking birth certificates.
