It's really great to read the comment sections in Bob Ross videos. The amount of love directed to this one man is incredible, especially when you think about the fact that he just paints. But it's good to see so many other love Bob Ross like I do.

21 years today this man has been gone from the earth and I still use his videos to fall asleep. Thank you uploaded for being consistent with it uploads, it truly means a lot to me. I use the videos every night to help me sleep no medication needed. All I have to say is thank you and REST IN PAINT BOB ROSS, you live through your art and videos, we love and miss you man

Bob Ross. Bob. Such a simple name, yet so majestic and powerful. Bob - a name that can pierce the skys... and it has.
Even though Bob is no longer with us today, he is not absent. For when he passed, he did not simply cease to exist. No... NO DAMMIT!!
Bob ascended. Ascended beyond our 3rd dimensional realm. He went to a place far beyond our own... The Happy Little Dimension.
There Bob resides. He stands up there happy as can be. But he is not idle. No, right now, in a dimension higher and beyond our own, Bob is painting. Painting the very fabric of our dimensions
He stands there, painting what we see right now, what we will see in the future, and what we saw in the past. Bob paints or world as we see it. There is no war, no disease, no death, and no sadness... only happy accidents.
So next time you stub your toe, spill your milk, bit your lip, or accidentally bifurcate yourself, know it was only an accident. A happy - slightly messy - accident.

There were fantastic/ happy days before this day in 1995 came. 21 years ago today this world lost a true loving painter and an icon with a wonderful soothing voice. That man was Bob Ross. RIP and may God Bless him in the happy little clouds above. We celebrate his life and America together.

OMG i remember as a kid i loved this show!
This is so easy to fall asleep to. It's so peaceful and calm. I love it.
I'm 14 and I won't ever regret stumbling across this channel and this amazing man.
This is one of the coolest paintings I have watched him paint. The crazy thing is that this aired the day after I was born. I'm nearly 32 watching a video as old as I am.

The original ASMR.
Yes. I grew up watch his show for two reasons. One, He is a great teacher. And two, for the brain tingles. I would sit in a suspended brain mode for the whole show. I didn't even know what ASMR was then. For those that don't know what ASMR is, google it.

Bob has been gone 21 years today. Watching his beautiful work and soothing demeanor have been such beautiful gifts. One of the most wonderful men to walk the earth. RIP.
Hard to believe he was a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force for 20 years before he started painting on TV.

I noticed this too, I respect Bob very much, but that tree behind the mountains bothers me, if the mountain is that big then tree behind it is massive. I'm not referring to the line of trees in front of the mountain.

hey! can anyone tell me what type of paint he is using? acrylic? oil? thanks!

Definitely oil. He uses his own brand, but any brand of oil painting will do as long as it is very firm (as opposed to the more 'liquid' kind). Notice the paint in his pallet stays exactly where it is. If he needs to thin it down he uses either liquid white, or liquid clear or odorless thinner. Typically the wet on wet technique needs very firm oil paint on top of some medium (like liquid white etc.)

You're right! I know he did that for a few episodes and would actually say "just to change it up", and then explain that he's right handed so light coming from the right is easier. But it sure looks out of place!
