You need those forearm covers people wear for trimming roses. Like gauntlets. I used to have a dog who bites bc he was sick and had some issues with bad groomers who hurt him when he was young. I did all of his grooming and got some hardcore bites too. I learned to keep the antibac stuff with lidocaine in it to stop the pain and clean the wounds quickly and sometimes with a dog offering it soemfhubg to hold on in its mouth will distract long enough to trim facial hair which was always the scariest. (Mine was a shih tzu) My dog now I’ve groomed all her life and she’s completely good and submissive to it. She isn’t scared just doesn’t like it but she does well and let’s me brush her teeth and trim her paw fur and nails. Cats are a whole other story. Lol. One juvenile cat I had would climb right up my front chest and shoulder and over my back with full freak out nails out for climbing and I learned to hold her facing out and holding her shoulders well so she couldn’t spring her back legs around to grab by her front and climb. Also suggest wearing a leather apron on your front and over shoulders to prevent those cat injuries. You could try some bendy but thick leather gloves for the cats and just cut the tips off so you can maneuver them for fine motor skills work but keep hands and arms covered with leather or canvas or multilayers and hands down and away. I used to do that exact jump when my dog bit me and he did it so much yhay when my new dog jerked i autopilot jumped. She was looking at me like what the heck. Lol. Those bites are painful and can get infected. I wonder if they make a cover for top to Elbows made of thick fabric and then the gloves to elbows for scratching and biting animals. You are brave. That job should pay doctor salary or at least nurse. It’s risky.
