Always a favorite. Having raised six kids, and now having 19 grands and four great-grands, this one hits me hard every time I hear it...sometimes with tears, but there are also many reminiscent smiles and giggles, as well. So many memories (and even new daily stuff, watching the two littlest here at home grow up watching their older brothers, sisters, mom, dad, and grandparents). We do a lot of nudging each other with a finger to the lips and sideways glimpse of the little ones doing "exactly" what the bigger people were doing not long before. ;-) Thanks for the review.

Good stuff, G3!! I've always loved this song, and glad you feel it, too. :-)

This is such a great song. While I reminds you that little ones watch you, so watch your mouth, it also shows that they learn good habits to from you. So you may struggle to be a 'perfect' parent, but that's ok if you make a mistake sometimes. Cause your efforts are still there. So amusing and heartwarming.

Southerners have an expression "Little pitchers have big ears." Can't tell you how often I heard that when my mother's friends were over playing bridge, as a warning to each other. 😄

Never was told that one, but I understand it completely since I was always wanting to know what my parents were thinking because if I was in trouble I needed to make an alibi. Ha!

You're so right about the video. Some song lyrics need the video or the meaning becomes diluted. MOMENTS sung by Emerson Drive (cameo at end of Kris Kristofferson as a homeless man)comes to mind. Trigger warning : about suicide but such an important (good) msg right now when people are hurting

Supposedly his son got caught singing "If You're Going Through Hell" at school when his son was 3 or 4 and that "sparked" this song.

About the s word. It was my moms go to and it was my baby sisters first word. Mom curbed it after that. But it was funny cause she said it after she raspberries food into my moms face. Her 6 older siblings worked hard to teach her that trick. So between us n Mom poor baby didn't stand a chance.

While watching this reaction and a couple of your other Rodney Atkins ones, I got to thinking of Josh Turner. I used to listen to his stuff about the same time I was listening to Rodney all the time.
Thought perhaps you might react to Josh singing "Long Black Train."

Also, what about, "Would You Go With Me?"
(My youngest daughter and her husband--the ones we live with, now, with the seven kids--made this their theme song at their wedding.)
