- Pramheda took a huge hit and became entangled in an airbag which inflicted major damage to his weapon system, drive motors and chassis.
We followed him between bouts to see what it takes to rebuild a combat robot at the highest level.

I love Zachs attitude! Glad he understood that that's just apart of the sport. Love to see it👌🏾
The interactions between him and the other builders, especially the one who destroyed his bot is really what NHRL is all about. Shows the unique community.
Things happen whether good or bad we all can learn from different scenarios. I honestly loved Manufacturer’s Recalled idea. I thought it was very unique and never for a moment thought it could turn into what it did.

@@aydinaj4 I hope to be around for a long time so I can’t wait until you join the community as a builder! That rebuild took a rather long time about 1.25 hours but luckily it was very early on in the day so the time was available

I mean.. either make them legal or don't, right? Seems like they have to be illegal due to entanglement.
question. Why is the airbag a problem it seemed very effective and isn’t that the point of it all?
entanglement weapons are not permitted by the rules. They are not fun to watch and destroy bots in dull ways. If you do accidentally entangle a bot the judges dont count that when they decide the winner
Because that's exactly not the point of it. The air bag was designed to act as reactive armor to blow away the opponent when it gets hit. Entanglement is strictly not allowed in combat robot because it's boring, the moment it hits the weapon it devolves into a shoving match and also damages the robots in very annoying ways.
Entanglement should be allowed as it would counter spinning bots. The meta has been nothing but spinning weapons for way too long. How many bots that can't even direct their movement, but just sit there vibrating around a bit while spinning at 300mph have gotten to finals? Are we watching bots or bakugons? I say open up the game to new types of weapons and defenses.

Bent frames are part of why I run UHMW in odd places like my inch-thick weapon uprights on the 12lb vert coming to the next NHRL event. I don't really care if it bends, because it just bounces around. The 3lb machine I've been running there has 5 metal parts, and 2 of those are the weapon and the shaft. Sure, I can't hit as hard as if I ran a metal frame and my bots tend to leave in extra chunky salsa form, but it's really hard to knock out a superball.

Not if you’re Pramheda
I’m assuming Pramheda’s weapon is dangerous without safety precautions. All weapons at robot combat events take measures to prevent them from activating outside the match
@@midnightcrow2092 Pramheda weapon can reach 300+ mph. Any active weapon is very dangerous and should be handled with complete care. When they cut the airbag out of the robot before seeing the damage the robot was turned off for safety reasons.
@@zacharyknight1279 Looks like I phrased my comment bad. I had no doubt that safety measures were taken, I should have comment "All people at robot combat events take measures to prevent them." Also hope you have better luck at the next event!
What’s the purpose of an airbag if not entanglement?
The builder of the airbag robot, Thomas, intended it to blast away an opponent. He tried something new and different. It didn’t work and ended up as entanglement so he stopped using it. Our rules advocate creativity and pushing the envelope.
That airbag is really an asshole move…
