Dust to Dust is the prologue from their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene about a woman who suffers unrequited love, becomes obsessed, kills her crush, descends into madness, and commits suicide. This song takes place at the the funeral of the Queen and is narrated by her ghost. The male voice is their manager, Rudy, who plays the part of the preacher giving a sermon on the fact that salvation is earned. When this song debuted, November 25th, 2018, everybody’s head exploded at Pau being able to sing so well while drumming so intensely.
Yikes, that must have been messy! Just kidding. 🙂
The drummer is a musical wonder of this world.. & her sister's are too... 3 wonders, 1world... "We're not worthy"... 🤟🎶☮️
In 23 Pau is singing softly, but in this one she is pushing more, as this is a hard rock song bordering on metal and we she does that the natural rasp in her voice comes out.
Sadness in one and remorse in the other. Shades of tone for a wonderful singer.
Lets just say that Pau's voice has a few different personalities , depending on what type of song it is .Carry on with this concert , cheers fella !
It was awesome here! 🙂
I like the idea that Dust to Dust is a conversation between Death and a horde of souls. Death tells them that it is better to stay dead or maybe in Hell, than to return to life. The wail at the end of the song, in my mind, is a soul that is escaping from Hell. It is my interruptation and will not align with what others may think. The Warning typically write songs that let the listener find to their own meanings QOTMS is a KILLER album.
Yes, I think there can be many interpretations. 🙂
Rust = Oxidation, which is the essential engine of decay after the microbial action is finished with our wet parts.
Your interpretation of the lyrics is excellent if viewing this song as a stand alone. The meaning is changed a bit once you know that this is a prologue to band's concept album, "Queen of the Murder Scene". It is the set-up to the whole story. The sung is sung from the perspective of the "protagonist" anti-hero, who is dead. The song is occurring at her funeral, the voice over is the priest at her funeral who is eulogizing her. She is inviting you in to hear her story and begs us to not trust all that we have heard about her prior.
It might be a fun exercise for you to react to that album, song by song, in order.
Thank you. 🙂
Pau writes in English better than most of us who speak it natively. She stretches the meaning of some words making for interesting or challenging concepts within their songs. She uses "Rust" here in the sense that it is a process of returning to an original state. When bodies decay they are also reverting to origin. I find it refreshing that she views things in a different way. Perhaps her perspective is influenced by her Spanish. Although English is a second language she grew up learning both languages, and in school all of them were taught French as well, though they rarely use their French. There is one recent song from the Error album that has a verse in French. They are comfortable using alternate meanings of words that are perhaps derived from the usage in Latin that carried over into Spanish or French. As you know, some of the Latin influence in English comes from a stem shared with modern French.
All three of these young ladies are well read and have diverse interests apart from music. As part of Gen Z, they received a daily barrage of influences via social media. They also follow Japanese Anime and Korean pop music. In fact, the album from which this song comes was inspired by K-pop's key changes. And there is a song where Pau sings 'Korosu" in the backing vocals, which is the word for murder in Japanese.
Thank you. 🙂
The Warning!! 🔥 🤘 Subscribed for MORE!!
Thank you! 🙂
Dany is the main singer of the band. Pau does sing about 1/3 of their songs. Sometimes they alternate back and forth like in the song Survive. Ale does sing lead when Dany wants to rest her voice for a song, but Ale does not like to sing lead so we do not see it too often. It is always a surprise to fans when Ale sings as we never know when that will be. Great reaction and keep doing this concert at it is one of the best concerts ever posted on YT as the sound quality and pro camera work are amazing.
Thank you for your comments and info. 🙂
This song always amazingme since was released.
This is the prologue introduction to their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene which is a dark rock opera about a young woman’s infatuation which turns to obsession and then madness. Some of the lyrics make more sense once you have listened to the whole album. 😎👍
I am really enjoying watching you on your The Warning journey! You can't go wrong with doing this whole album in order (Queen of the Murder Scene) it is a fun ride and cool story!
Thank you! 🙂
The Warning The Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙂
Just in case it hasn’t been mentioned already, don’t miss Pau’s version of ‘Creep’ and any (all) of Dany’s “midnight concerts”.
Ron, it could be your favorite since it was the last one you heard. Many of TWA often say their favorite song is the last one they listened to.
Could be. 🙂
This is the Prolog to Queen of the Murder Scene
They added a extended ending to this track in their new live shows
Great reaction! Yes, you did tell us about not being able to move your inset on your last reaction!😊⚡️
I'm not sure why it has Pau as the only songwriter. In an interview, Ale was asked in what song she contributed the most lyrics and she said Dust to Dust.
I thought Ale was primarily responsible for that bass riff, but Pau did most of the lyrics on the album.
Check out vlog #23 where Pau talks about the songwriting process for QOTMS.
I'm not sure. Sometimes various sources have different songwriters listed. Some list all the artists even though they don't write the lyrics, etc. Who knows? I'm sure all three sisters contribute in some way regardless. 🙂
@@rjjsreactions-rk7zhYes, that’s basically what they say. Pau has said she’s good at starting songs but lousy at finishing them. 😀
This was my Warning rabitt hole song.
It would draw one in! 🙂
gr8 reaction ... this song is the prologue/first track on their queen of the murder scene album ... the album is a very convoluted story of madness/murder/unrequited love ... the lyrics will make more sense if you watch the lunario live vids in order and follow the story ... r0ck 0n ... \m/
Thank you! I appreciate it. 🙂
Pau does start about 90% of the songs then they all get together and finish them. I saw a couple interviews where Dany and Pau said Ale was the lead on writing this song.
Love the drum fill at the end while Dany is belting out one of my favorite at their last show they added to the end of this song and go straight into Dull Knives my other favorite drum fills ending I was overwhelmed when I got those back to back awesome. Ale's bass is the main driver all through this song. You're right the last song you heard will be your fav. Dany is the lead singer on most songs. Pau does 1/3 of them as lead and they share lead on songs as well including the first song I heard Disciple which is a real banger. Stick to this concert there's 20 others. Thanks Ron.🤘⚡🔥⚡🔥⚡
My pleasure! Thank you for your comments. 🙂
🙋🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡⚡
🙂
If you decide to react to the entire concept album, I suggest that you watch the songs that you can from this concert, instead of the Lunario concert. The quality is objectively better. The songs are Ugh, Dull Knives, Queen of the Murder Scene, and Hunter.
Thank you for the song list. Sounds interesting. 🙂
I'm not sureif you have reacted/listen to any other songs from Queen of the Murder Scene (QOTMS) but if the title does not give it away, that album had a bit of Drama. You just listened to the prolog of the story that is QOTMS, a concept album and as such the meaning of the song will make more sense if you listen to them in order. I'll take the liberty to suggest you listen to the songs from their concert from Lunario where they first played the entire album interspersed with some of their older songs, at the time. th-cam.com/video/9VciU3gMMUY/w-d-xo.html It will be a fun ride, for us too!
By the way, not sure it happened here, but Pau as a habit of mounting the words even when she is not singing.
I might try that. Thank you. 🙂

The concept album is the Prolog and 4 chapters with 3 songs each... You can see how they separated them with a song from the previous album.
Isn’t this the song where Ale, in an extremely rare solo interview, said “It’s a very ME song”?
I don't know the answer to that, but someone here might. 🙂
Its better that you sit and listen. Most don't want someone doing everything but listening then blowing smoke thats clearly not there thoughts because they didn't even listen. Authentic is key at least to me.
Thank you. 🙂
