Thanks for the comment. Great question - I’m always keen to offer strong contrasts in my work. Often I will seek out the most vibrant colour and accentuate its use. Quite often yellow and sometimes red are what I look for to help justify the creative license. I’ve even used pink felt tip pen before to help the scene ‘pop’.

It’s not so much about time, but seeking inspiration, asking for advice and ultimately drawing and drawing from life. Hope this helps - the journey is important. Thank you. For me the single line exercise helps me keep a fluid rhythm and capture the core details without overworking. Not everyone’s cup of tea though. 😀

yes happily, this is a Moleskine Watercolour sketchbook - they can take a great deal of water 👍 I tend to use a range of pens including fineliners from 'paperchase' and the range of fineliners from Derwent.

How do you learn to loosen up your lines…I find it incredibly hard 😮
Speed is key for me. Restrict yourself to a new minutes and it can help you keep the pen flowing fast.
