You only stand vertically when boiling water I think it might cook faster for you horizontally as less heat will escape through the top instead of being used to cook. Either way having it horizontal makes the foot stay better in the tray. You can adjust the pitch with the leg horizontally to maximize the sun angle too
You don't need the orange dishes... Those are used to keep your foods separate. The jumbo egg might of of fit without the orange dish. ALSO you had the position wrong for heating food. Food cooking goes horizontally - Liquids go up right as you had!! ALSO you don't ever heat it up, NOT use it in the sun WITHOUT food in the chamber. You could crack the inner glass tube!!!
Nice thing about being vegetarian, is that even at 120F or around that temperature, it's safe enough to cook vegetables. Nice bit of kit, would love to get a couple of them! Thanks for the review.

They make bigger models. This is just their smallest one. It's light weight for backpacking and mobility.
