  • These commercials aired on Nick on May 29th, 1993
    1. Snick Intro
    2. WNYI New York Interconnect from CNI
    3. WNYI New York Interconnect from CNI
    4. March Of Dimes PSA
    5. Puppy Surprise ("Baby on life support" to "Puppy Surprise" might be the biggest whiplash transition that I've posted here)
    6. TV Spot for "Life With Mikey" (This had yet to be released when these aired, so calling it a "surprise comedy hit" may have been a bit premature. It debuted at #7 and only made about $12 million at the box office)
    7. Super Golden Crisp (With the voice of June Foray and free Baseball Cards offer)
    8. Snick Commercial Bumpers
    9. Promo for "Welcome Freshmen" (Featuring R&B singer Shanice and her 1991 hit "I love Your Smile": • Shanice - I Love Your ... )
    10. Kellogg's Smacks (Everyone knows that in nature frogs and cats are mortal enemies. With free Dig-Em flashlight offer)
    11. Nickelodeon Litter PSA
    12. Wacky Water Wackers
    13. Promo for "101 Dalmatians" on The Disney Channel
    14. Snick Commercial Bumper
    15. "Clarissa Explains It All" End Credits
    16. Snick Commercial Bumper
    17. Super Net Ball (I can't wait to play with this while riding my Wild Wacky Action Bike!)
    18. TV Spot for "Super Mario Bros." (Wow, it's so great to finally post an ad for this unforgettable classic! Truly one of the best, if not THE best video game adaptations of all time! I still don't understand what the Academy was thinking that year...not even a single nomination!)
    19. Super Soaker MDS
    20. 10-K (I...don't remember this product)
    21. Promo for "Muppet Mania"
    22. Nick Station ID
    23. Snick Commercial Bumper
    24. Promo for "The MTV Movie Awards"
    25. Kirby's Adventure for NES
    26. Zip Cord Gliders
    27. Promo for "Are You Afraid Of The Dark?"
    28. Super Soaker 100
    29. TV Spot for "Life With Mikey" (Michael J. Fox with reddish hair and that super 90's haircut ironically makes him look a lot like Eric Stoltz here)
    30. Super Net Ball (Sorry for dupe)
    31. Snick Commercial Bumper
    32. "Roundhouse" End Credits
    33. Snick Commercial Bumper
    34. Rolling Rock (I get that "Ren & Stimpy" had a lot of adult appeal and also aired on MTV, but it's a bit weird they were showing freaking beer commercials during the Snick block)
    35. NY 1 News Promo
    36. Honey Comb
    37. Zoom Ball (Definitely in the running for most "90's commercial" ever)
    38. Nick Station ID
    39. Snick Commercial Bumper
    40. 1-800-COLLECT
    41. Corinthian Foundation
    42. McDonald's (Oh those crazy 90's kids and their "Video Scavenger Hunts")
    43. Super Soaker 200
    44. Nick Profile ("Nick Toons" isn't a show, kid)
    45. Canal Jean Co.
    46. Rolling Rock (I have a feeling that the two beer ads were inserted by the cable company, as they were both next to local ads)
    47. Snick Commercial Bumpers
    48. Nick Right Here Right Now
    49. Milk
    50. Yoshi's Cookie
    51. Double Dunk Floating Basketball
    52. Sparkling Play-Doh
    53. Nick Station ID
    54. Snick Commercial Bumper
    55. Promo for "Nick News"
    56. Krystal Princess (Whatever you do, don't let them out of their jars. They're trapped in there for a reason!)
    57. TV Spot for "Super Mario Bros." (There's nothing quite like watching an original 35mm print of this movie in a crowded theater and hearing the audience erupt in cheers when Luigi tells Mario to "Trust the fungus")
    58. Kellogg's Corn Flakes (With free souvenir helmet offer)
    59. Snick Commercial Bumper
    60. "Are You Afraid Of The Dark?" End Credits ("F Troop" was a surefire way to get 9 year old me to rapidly change the channel to anything else)
    61. Very Very Nick At Nite Promo (With Dick Van Dyke)

The story behind the live action Super Mario Bros. movie is more interesting than the movie itself, with frustrated and drunk actors, constantly changing scripts, and enough drama to fill a documentary.

I had the super soaker 50, 100, and 200. I rarely used the latter cause it was kinda heavy and i was a slightly out shape kid lol. I also had those gliders.

Bears harassing old ladies, cats chasing frogs…Cereal commercials were sure weird back then.

Joey is gonna regret everything later on in life if they don't just drink water like that instead.
Anyway that super soaker 100 commercial is HANDS DOWN the absolute best water soaker commercial I've ever seen. Usually I think those are just ridiculous in a dumb bad way but no this one is awesome! Yes. Win! Get. Her. Justice!

I was 11 at this time and 100% would have been watching Snick!

I saw the Super Mario Bros. movie probably on THIS night. I did miss SNICK but it was a worthy sacrifice.
I would agree with the Rolling Rock ads being local inserts with them paired up with Canal Jean Co. and NY1 ads. No way these would be airing on Nickelodeon. But when they said it was time for F Troop I'd be changing the channel on Saturday nights too!

I think the first and only Super Soaker I got was the 50. That pool party commercial seemed to be the signature one. When that came along, it completely revolutionized water guns. They had either been little "squirt guns," or battery-powered to provide just a bit more kick but still nothing compared to what a Super Soaker could put out. It seems so simple in retrospect. The inventor, Lonnie Johnson, is on a mural in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama, and it does indeed feature a Super Soaker.
"Welcome Freshman" had a really rocking opening theme song.
I knew that "Super Mario Brothers" movie was going to be odd but went to see it anyway. I'm sure I never saw it again.
There's that blonde kid in the McDonald's commercial. I always forget his name.

Life With Mikey-kind of makes you wonder if Eric Stolz was originally going to play the lead role in this too😂
Welcome Freshmen-surprised Nickelodeon hasn't attempted to revive/reboot this
Super Mario Bros-sorry to disagree with John Leguizamo, but the CG Chris Pratt movie > the live action one
    10-K-a.k.a Gatorade from Wish
MTV Movie Awards-i think Cruel Intentions won the Best Kiss award
Rolling Rock-R & S probably had quite a few cases of this at home
    Corinthian Foundation-they don't make leather
    McDonald's-these kids should've had a show of their own,V.S.H
Canal Jean Co.- with Maitland Ward(..?)
Krystal Princess-sounds as if she might be a character in a Mario game

10-K- From the looks of this commercial, I would say that this product is like a poor man’s version of Gatorade.
Zoom Ball- Watching those kids play with the Zoom Balls throughout the commercial, I expected the strings that the kids were holding to get tangled at any given moment.
Milk- I like Milk, but I don’t think I like it THAT much to go through all those instances that the kid describes that he would go through to get it. He certainly has an obsession with Milk.

My bad experience of seeing "Super Mario Bros." (1993) has haunt me, even 30 years later! Thank goodness for "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" (2023) that could wipe my memories of that tripe! At least the CGI Animated Feature has follow character development, fascinating story and totally respects both the games and the source material! Plus, Bowser singing "Peaches!" Better than "Trust the Fungus!"
