I was in Cleveland that very weekend, had I known ANYTHING like this exsisted in that terrible town I wouldve HAD to check it out! it looks clean and well kept with a great deal of nostalgia! Awesome Vid man!
Truly incredible footage. I am so thankful to have your videos. The shot you did on the ferris wheel at 6:56 is amazing. I put it full screen on my new widescreen monitor and it gives you the feel of actually riding it. So enjoyable all around. That is one monster place. Thanks Coaster Bob~ Rob/Boston
Thanks, Rob. I was real happy with how the ferris wheel footage turned out. Rides like that are perfect for the GoPro. The I-X is a fun place to make a video.
Funny I happened to find this without even looking. it showed up on one of my Cleveland related videos. It just went there last Thursday. It was very fun!
Cedar Point said that they'll be putting together a video of the testing, and they've already posted some photos. I probably won't be back up there until opening weekend, but I'll be sure to get plenty of footage then.
I imagine there is a massive ventilating system as well. I know there are certain requirements that have to be met, such as the amount of times the air has to be completely cycled in a certain amount of time
I never saw an indoor amusement park that large. I never thought it was possible to extend the dome roof so wide and long. But with today's engineers, I guess anything's possible today.
I love that first POV shot on the Yo Yo. Nice idea. I still can't believe someone is still operating one of those rocket simulator rides. I remember riding one when I was probably 10.
Flat Ride Heaven. Good concept. If they can make the building bigger, then they could add bigger roller coasters and flat rides like those found at Cedar Point (Max Air, Power Tower, Sky Hawk). Almost like building an indoor stadium or blimp hanger for roller coasters.
If you mean the Ferris Wheel ride...yes it is, though it's not usually running when there are trade shows or expos. Still haven't been on it though I've been going to the IX since I was little :)
I went to there on April 12th of last year and I rode the Tilt-a-Whirl. That ride made me sick, and when I got off I walked over to the nearest garbage can and threw up in it.
Dear CoasterBob, I am sharing. “The trains ran [Thursday] for the first time, and they ran really well. We’ll be running them eight hours a day, seven days a week for the next four weeks.” Mr. Lococo added. “From a safety standpoint, we want to check all the safety devices, and we’ll be on the lookout for 600 faults that could happen and try to simulate them on our tests.” If you could get over to the Point, and get some photos along with video. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :-)
This place looks like a lot of fun but judging from the video it sounds like it can get pretty loud in there(I’m pretty sure I could hear the machinery moving).
This place is better than some County fairs its sad to say. Rides Look Great though some has some bulbs out and you can tell that some of them have had a LED Refit Very nice and saves a lot of Power. Great Job
Frankly, I am surprised that none of you geeks has filmed it yet from a distance outside the parking lot or from the park across the bay. I remember when Maverick started testing there was amateur footage taken from a distance. :-)
In light of the Ohio fair accent a few weeks ago now being attributed to rust, maybe we should move these carnivals indoors where they aren't exposed to the elements. As it stands KGB, the manufacturer of the Fireball, has issued new inspection steps for the ride, but you can't cut open the beam and check for erosion. And the meter used to test for metal strength can only examine an inch of metal at a time. It's impossible to ensure the safety of these rides. So either bring them indoors, where the chances of corrosion is much lower, or...we go back to the think tank and come up with virtual rides. I've seen tests of the VR roller coaster and it is just as insane as a real one. As tech improves, with elements added like wind and vibration, you could create a safe simulator that's just as much of a thrill as the behemoths at the parks. Of course, the virtual can be TOO real, like Disney's Space at Epcot. I'm not sure of the mechanics of that ride, but I remember a former NASA official saying, "Not even astronauts go through what those riders go through." Is this really worth lives? If people want thrills, let them bungee jump or go white water rafting where they KNOW that they're putting themselves in peril. I didn't know the young man that died in Ohio on the Fireball, but I won't forget him or his face. I pray his death was not in vain and that it pushes heavier regulations onto these pop-up carnivals. Fireball passed inspection THIRTY TIMES, and the morning of, before it just fell apart like a piece of junk. A young man dead and more injured when all they wanted was to let off a little steam. There's got to be a safer way. I'd like 100% safe, but I know that isn't realistic. Still, can we just reduce accidents down to ZERO that "could have been prevented"? Just a thought...for Tyler. Oh, one note about the video. I notice a LOT of operators not even watching the rides. NOT GOOD!
Missnewbienoob A common denominator with the rust issue wasn’t just rust. Where has the ride been? No one wants to really look at the real cause. Clue, near the ocean for a significant amount of time. Furthermore new seats are required for the affected models.
It's amazing how much cleaner and safer fair rides look when they're indoors.

Thank you! It'll be great to get back to the parks soon.
When I was growing up in Cleveland we would go to this every year. Definitely brings back memories.
With the crazy flat rides you have over there, it would be a wonderful sight seeing them all together like that!
Thanks, Rob. I was real happy with how the ferris wheel footage turned out. Rides like that are perfect for the GoPro. The I-X is a fun place to make a video.

I'm very pumped for Kings Island! Hope the weather is better this year than last year.
WOW this is soo neat!! An indoor Amusement park...And it has so-many good classic rides!!! Abt as much as a State Fair or Bigger!! COOL!!!
Yet another great video from you. Thanks for sharing it! Simon (UK)
I guess this is one thing us Clevelanders can be proud of :)
your videos get progressively better each time
I think I was here when you were filming, I can recall that exact scream from the ride at the beginning.
Alek x. Rrrrrrrr

Very nice of you to say, thank you.
Love this video. We had an indoor theme park here in the UK but they closed it & built another cinema.
I imagine there is a massive ventilating system as well. I know there are certain requirements that have to be met, such as the amount of times the air has to be completely cycled in a certain amount of time
You know when spring has sprung in the Cleveland area when you hear the,"I-X...INDOOR...AMUUUSMENT PARK" commercials on the radio.
6:32 OMG! They used the raw audio when he used the time-lapse mode!
Looks like someone made it in RCT3... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Those rides look awesome
You all have more rides than us! Lucky!!!
I never saw an indoor amusement park that large. I never thought it was possible to extend the dome roof so wide and long. But with today's engineers, I guess anything's possible today.

I just remembered that I live in Ohio. Yes!
Does that theme park permanently stay there?
That's a nice video : ) We could do with this in the uk with our weather !
Is that big wonder wheel a permanent fixture all year round?
If you mean the Ferris Wheel ride...yes it is, though it's not usually running when there are trade shows or expos. Still haven't been on it though I've been going to the IX since I was little :)
I top my hat off to Cleveland. I though the SCA Fair had the best rides...this so cool and it was inside! will this happen next year? cuz I wanna go.
Is it there all year round ?
Man would I love to be there! At least that is one place I won't be breathing no stinky diesel fumes!
4:05 Lost the hat!!
I went to there on April 12th of last year and I rode the Tilt-a-Whirl. That ride made me sick, and when I got off I walked over to the nearest garbage can and threw up in it.
and what company star flyer is this...
Sometime I wonder how do they fit all that stuff in?
Such great footage. =D
Thanks for the warning. Now I kind of want to check it out, just for the cheesiness!

I wish the Philadelphia area had something like this
I'm really happy that they let me use the GoPro on the rides. Never been on the rocket ride. That would've been interesting to film....maybe.
What kind of ride is that at 1:54?
I seriously want to know the ride count. That's insane!!!
This place looks like a lot of fun but judging from the video it sounds like it can get pretty loud in there(I’m pretty sure I could hear the machinery moving).
this is sooooo cool!!
we need one of these in uk considering the wheather in uk
It must be sooooo loud in there!!!!

Frankly, I am surprised that none of you geeks has filmed it yet from a distance outside the parking lot or from the park across the bay. I remember when Maverick started testing there was amateur footage taken from a distance. :-)
I think someone lost a hat at 4:05
Oh god, the zipper

And how many engine accidents does it take to do something at Southwest Airlines?
Missnewbienoob
