The problem with your idea is that it isn't a measurement for how fast the game was beaten. A silly hypothetical example: If you somehow beat the game faster than me with exactly 10 dino riders killed while I killed exactly 10 club men, my run would be considered better even though it's slower and I killed the weaker units.

Enemies also die sooner if you have the turret, so having a turret can decrease the amount of cavemen you can get before you start rushing
A better way to measure speed is by lowest XP gained because the game lags with too many units and the timer does not lag accordingly.
