- Today we were talking with some youth who had come and one of them was talking about deeksha and another one was talking about sannyasa. One thing I try to make people understand is that ashrams are not designed to do sadhana. You cannot do sadhana while staying at an ashram. An ashram is a social institution. It is a place for everyone. This ashram is not mine; it is not of a one person; it is not of a committee or a trust. A trust is just running it. First of all, this ashram is Bhagwan Sri Hari’s and its devotees. This ashram has been built by their resources. The devotees who come here, it is their resources that have helped in building this ashram. Everything that is built here is by someone’s good karma or destiny.
So, then who are we to say that this ashram is mine. Since it is no one’s, the most we can do is to keep a framework. That there is a certain way people should behave and talk in the ashram but people who are looking to do sadhana, the ashram is not a place for them.

What a transparent discourse. I genuinely feel that Swami Ji is really overburdened by our greediness to have personal meetings and asking casual questions in Swaminars. I humbly feel that Swami Ji’s niceties and generosity are being taken for granted by most of us. Was pained to know that Swami Ji is circumstantially being denied the little bit rest during such a hectic schedule. We should all try to absorb as much as possible from his books,blogs and discourses. His Darshans in Ashram Temple are extremely soulful and Divine. Very firm instructions on do’s and don’ts we must adhere to while visiting the Ashram. Your emphasis on power of observing silence is wonderful and well taken😊. I simply loved this discourse as it’s a myth burster on many issues. More or less an expected code of conduct for us all who are blessed to be connected to our Master and beloved Swami Ji. Very true. You have put it aptly.We are so selfish and ignorant as we don't know the value of this "Anmol Ratan" among us . The best service for Him as He says is stay away from Him and just follow Him from wherever we are and read and try to imbibe a percentile of his knowledge and virtue and stop bothering him with our vain minds.

Oh, how this absolutely expressive advice resonated with me at such a deeply personal level, that tears sprang up. Except that one moved to my family Guru’s ashram after retirement, and so one was no chicken, but one had moved with much eagerness and enthusiasm. Luckily, my family had their own rooms, so one didn’t have to be part of the larger ashram jamboree, but lord almighty, what an experience. Deeply involved in ashram/hospital work, one got slowly but surely sucked into the underbelly of gossip, backbiting, judgements and what have you. After ten years, and total disillusionment, one finally moved away. Near enough to the super energy of the vigraha of the guru, but far away enough to be totally dis-involved with ashram affairs. Remaining close to the dearly loved mountains, peace reigned again. Sadhana got back on track, and the mind decided to turn away from monkeying around. Complete bewilderment at ashram life was finally put to rest. This talk today further clarified other hidden issues. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Even though I have always been concealing within me to seek clarity on the kind of Sadhana that may be appropriate for me - a householder, yet I very strongly feel that the clarity is available and will be revealed at the time that it must, unless otherwise.
