I’m not sure if you searched the extent of the tsunami but I thought I’d share some facts to give you an idea of how bad it truly was. The 2004 tsunami is the deadliest tsunami in history with a death toll of over 225k people. It’s height was recorded to be 30 feet in some areas when it hit the shore, and travelled across the Indian Ocean at 804km/hr (the speed of an airplane). In total, it travelled almost 5,000 km, stretching all the way to Africa. Over 125k homes were destroyed, and the villagers we see in the movie helping Lucas and the mom, are based on real civilians who had just lost everything, yet chose to help the injured. The family portrayed all survived the disaster, although the mom had many more wounds than shown. Your question was right about her puking, her body is trying to remove everything she swallowed. She was basically forced to endure a washing machine spin cycle, except full of all different types of debris. This movie always gets me, seeing you all cry and then laugh at each other is hilarious. Great reaction :)
The man with the cellphone, who lost his wife and daughter, is a true story, too. This whole movie is true. The tsunami was so insane they didn't have to invent the drama.
No captions? Any particular reason? Almost afraid to look through your channel to see if all of it is inaccessible or if it's just this one reaction....
You know Maria(h) is a very common name here in Europe? As it’s linked to Christianity. And where does Christianity originate? In the Middle East alongside Islam inspired by Judaism. “In the Arabic language the name Mariam (مريم) (also written: Meryem, Mariya) means either "white beautiful woman" or "white cow" or "a little bird with the same size as a pigeon", and it is quite popular in North Africa. One of the feminine Sahaba had the name Maria, Maria the Coptic.” “Maria is a feminine name of Latin (Spain, Italy, Portugal and Romania), Hebrew, and Greek origin that is rich with meanings for baby to enjoy. A form of Mary and Maryam, this name can refer to one of the most sacred figures in the Christian and Muslim faiths.”
The fact that my dad was in this tsunami. I’m so glad he survived

4:04 Yeah tsunamis can come in a series of waves. One big wave, then the water keeps rushing in behind it. Tsunamis are terrifying
