This dude is the truth with it!!! Knows how to play in a pocket, keeps a solid beat, & clearly has a love for the art. I bet this guy can beat up on some congos and/or drums too. Keep up the good work man!
filmelitt No i mean the sound in AOE2 (Age of Empires 2) when you build a house is of indian tabla rather than these drums. I wasn't saying this guy was using that technique
Ive been playing congos, bongs and now djembe since a long time. Just love precurssion and drumming world. These are very ancient drums from africa (nigeria) later used by latin music as well great artistry and great drumming i salute such artists all must watch
Who would've thought a bunch of weird looking clay pots and vases could make such amazing sounds? Marco''s got quite a sense of rhythm, it's interesting how the tempo shifts so smoothly and yet the music still sounds very fluid.
this was nice....although sometimes i wonder if folks play these beautiful instruments too fast........i mean the dialogue is for a bassy sound with the hand seals.......and bending notes.......Marco is brilliant.......and i think perhaps focusing on the one instrument whose sound isnt too disimiliar from the others is very hypnotic and communicative ..........great work here :)
Hi @GatoreIsNotJuice, just for information the sounds you listen in background are all acoustic, recorded by me years ago for a different project. However I'm agree with you, the Udu sound is fantastic without any addiction!! Thanks for your comment, ciao Marco Fadda
i was sitting watching this, then grabbed my bong and made those bloop sounds with it. pretty awesome, but terribly shaped to do so though. wondering if they make udu bongs now
sr marcos no es hipnotic es subliminal ,su performance val la pena grabarlo con guturales, konga, djembe y flauta,de seguro crea dimensiones de belleza. tha you for the performance great sr jesus super star
@Mewsinghan There really isn't a difference technically between Ibo and Udu. The Udu originates from Nigeria where the word "Udu" translates to "pot." Traditionally, the Udu was used as a means for transporting water before it was discovered as a musical instrument. In regards as to where Ibo comes from (as Meinl calls it), the Igbo people of Nigeria are most likely responsible discovering water pots as instruments, and that could be where Meinl draws that name from.
Well I could have used without the background BS. I'm most impressed that you can sit Indian fashion that long. But you are by far the best the clay pot player I seen.
I also am a conguero, so I know what congas sounds like. And they are tuned to a note. Which one depends on the size of the drum and the key of the song you are playing to.
Thanks for the kind remarks. Actually, the udu does not cost that much. You probably find one set in New York for around $500. Or less. Try Harlem if you ever there.
He has mastered his artistry and does not deserve insults. Thank you, MARCO FADDA.
Amazing... The form that you explore the Udu´s sonority is fantastic.
The bass on the udu drum is so powerful it's unbelievable. Beats all the electronic drum sounds I hear out of the water.
rerrun
if anyone is wondering this is an igbo drum played in southeastern nigeria
Thank you. I knew the instrument came from an African tradition, but that doesn't really narrow it down that much. :-)
@@LordQueezle igbo is an ethnic group in nigeria. they are located in the southeast.
I been watching u for years, and I always feel like It's the first time, amaze, you are so good

Sebastian Kühnert Actually, i'm sure the instrument is indian tabla.
Themostamazinguy

big difference, but the technique he uses is somewhat familiar
filmelitt No i mean the sound in AOE2 (Age of Empires 2) when you build a house is of indian tabla rather than these drums. I wasn't saying this guy was using that technique
Ah, I see :)
And I am a great fan of Age of empires 2 which I introduced to my son and have great memories from

You know, writing with a bunch of random elipsis where they don't belong makes you look like an idiot.

Amazing... and great sound quality! Which microphones did you use?
Great playing and I love the sound of the LP Udus, I have an Hadgini :)
I'm not the big fan of udu but this is just...awesome.
I love udu pot sounds
Sir, you are amazing... i must study your techniques. ; )
AWESOME STUFF
pretty awesome! first time i see but i love the sound! Would be cool to use it with some funk sort of sound :D
Absolutely amazing. But why the ghostly wind sounds in the background?
Great sounds. Do you have any internal mics, or are you just using the ones on the boom stands?
I also am a conguero, so I know what congas sounds like. And they are tuned to a note. Which one depends on the size of the drum and the key of the song you are playing to.
this is awesome
ma che strumeni sono????complimenti sei un grande
Reminds me of running around the subterranean passageways under Lut Gholein.
Most excellent
Love the microphone technique.
Das ist ein Musiker vom Feinsten
It's very awesome!
Right!?
ive only ever seen regular vase shaped ones in music sops, never these crazy shaped ones, they make wicked tonal variations
enjoyed it!
@tenacious0d - I think he might be recording a track so we cannot hear the rest of the music he's playing to.
May I ask what microphones you used here? You've captured the Udu sound perfectly! Something I find quite dificult. Wonderful playing as well!!
I see at least a pair of AKG C414s
this reminds me of most of the troll-tribe music in WoW
Grandissimo Marco !!!!! Ma ti devo dire che sei uguale a Pino Insegno al minuto 0:06 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
wonderful!..he's made it sound like an Indian instrument, using tabla technique...but of course its originally an Igbo instrument from East Nigeria
Love it!
Every man's goal... so many holes to play.
Good! I really don´t want to do my homework
wenisimoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
please get those artifiial electronic whooshing and dripping sounds out of there. the udu sound majestic enough by itself, this is amazing
I was watching this in bed on my ipad...and my left leg wouldn't work whilst watching this
Dude, same here
i don't get it..
same my left leg is amputated lol
Is it ok now...?
buenísimo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gran percución.
This reminds me of Age of Empires! I listen to it and imediately go search for some fruit to harvest.
THE BEST!
Super!
