I wanted to share a video of our apartment hunt in Texas, showing what you can get in Dallas, Texas for $1700-$2500/month. these are the apartments we saw searching for our new home! these were all self-guided tours, so we didn't need to see it with a leasing agent + we were required to wear masks. Sam Elle - I’d get out of NYC because they are slowly defunding the police. I’d be scared to live in NYC.
Betsy Ross defunding the police means that part of the huge money that goes toward the police, will go towards funding mental health and senior centers, funding for local education, and low income housing so it won’t make nyc less safe because the police is still getting the largest portion of the money. it doesn’t mean the police is going away. the police isn’t necessary for many situations such as directing traffic or helping the homeless, but that’s one of their responsibilities right now on top of protecting the people from actual criminals.

As someone whose lived in dallas all my life all of those apartment seemed mega expensive for me still 😭😭😅😅
My townhome is 1200 a month in North Dallas 3 bedroom, 2 bath and we have a laundry room too. I think we just got lucky because the same style town home where I live is 1400-1600
these were all "luxury" buildings, so they were all pretty pricey! you can definitely get a bigger place for less rent than I showed :)

GIRL I feel like once the virus is over you should do videos checking out different places and comparing their rent. Like different states and countries! It would be fun.
It’s crazy to think that those exact same apartments in DC/New York would be thousands of dollars more than they are in Dallas! Makes me want to move down south 🙃

I'm from Austin and I was just in Dallas and DANG I really can't believe how cheap it is there even in comparison to Austin!

Hailey Danielle I love Austin! My boyfriend and I went for New Years one year, spent a few days there, and we went to Rainy Street! Food was delicious in Austin too! We live in Dallas!😊
Meanwhile I live in Lubbock and pay $410 for a nice house 😂 (the total is 1250 for a big 3 bedroom house, split with my two roommates)
Girl! I’m so happy for you.. the fact that u can get sooo much more for your money down there is so awesome!! I love nyc but this is so much better than closet sized apartments in the city 😂
I am so excited for you!!! IMO this is such a smart decision for your first year of marriage💕 My husband and I were financial disasters our first year of marriage so I’m glad our rent was so cheap that year lol

best of luck! the apartment buildings we looked at had really great safety measures in place. we didn't feel unsafe at all- you got this!
I love these apartment tours. The only thing that bugs me about the apartments are that it has so much carpet, I prefer everything to be hardwood. Can't wait to see your new place!!💕💕💕

This is actually so crazy to see the difference in quality of apartments for this price range in New York vs Dallas. I obviously knew there were different costs of living but wow 🤯

Apt #3 was definitely my favorite. Although you don't like them, I LOVE dark hardwood floors!! That view was definitely amazing and I appreciated how big the patio was. I appreciated how much space was in that apartment in general!

I lived in Uptown with a downtown view in Dallas for $1400 for a two bed two bath (978 sq feet). Walking distance to all the uptown restaurants. Just moved 7 miles north of downtown Dallas and pay $940 for a one bed one bath (780 sq feet). My apartments have been nice and in good areas! I couldn't imagine pay $2,000 for a one bed one bath in Dallas!

So excited for these videos! My husband and I (newlyweds) are apartment hunting right now and are aiming for a townhouse. We live in CT, so rent here is kinda of expensive. The more updated, the more expensive! But to us, it’s worth the money.

I live in Dallas and it’s a GREAT city! Moved here in December from South Florida and I LOVE it here! I’m in Addison, North Dallas is a great location but I’m sure the area you chose whatever it is will be great as well!
Omg I was born and raised in Austin and growing here I thought Austin had good prices on apartments!! Dallas is such a beautiful city and looks affordable 🤩
I love all these apartments. You should do apartment search videos in different states once you can travel safely. I live in Novi Michigan which is a Detroit Metro suburb, about 45 minutes northwest of downtown Detroit.

Husband and I live in Preston Hollow Village - it’s a great apartment. Perfect location and it’s really nice and great prices! They have three building. Each one has different level of pricing. Definitely recommend!
From hearing all your likes and dislike, you would really love it here! Not sure if you already signed a lease, but it not, definitely check this place out. There’s restaurants underneath our apartment and did I mention Trader Joe’s In walking distances. Also, if you put us as your referral we can split the check 😁 if you ever decide to stay here.

You definitely have to hunt to find a decent deal in the Dallas metroplex! My fiancé and I looked for a while before we moved for our jobs. We work in the southern Frisco area, so we looked in Frisco, McKinney, Plano & Prosper. We were able to find a very new & nice 3BR 2Bath house cheaper than these apartments. 😳 Oh my! I didn’t even look inside Dallas so I had no idea that this was on the ‘cheaper’ side of apartment prices. Have y’all ever thought about a house? It mainly depends on your job location and if you want to commute a little bit! 😊😊

I think I love the first one most because of the space and lay-out! I'd love to see videos about being financially stable in your 20s after college. I graduated university last week and I'm trying to find a job and building my own business while having a prettty high college debt and I'd love to feel more confident about budgetting and alll that stuff!

Living in San Diego seeing these apartments at this price point...I'm in pain. My rent is around 2200 and I live with three other girls in an apartment with fixed utilities for low-income residents. Lots of immigrants in my complex and my kitchen and bathroom have not been updated since the 70s/80s. And it's still that expensive. But I chose to live there because I have the CHEAPEST rent of anyone I know.

Yesss!! Can’t wait to see future videos! Just curious, what is your perspective on buying a house vs still renting? Especially since you are getting married and maybe plan on staying where you are for awhile?
we aren't too sure where we want to live yet permanently! we also know buying a house comes with maintenance costs/taxes we want to hold out on right now. I'd love to do a custom build in the future, so we'd rather keep saving

It makes me feel so sad that NYC has just boxes for apartments. But I just love my city and thankfully my apartment is big but now looking more downtown. The "bedroom is basically the closet with a light". :(
haha, but still you get to live in NYC! which is the biggest perk :)
