Seriously jealous of how much actual GOOD information is out here on the internet now for young artists these days. I'm 31 and as a kid I had nothing but idiots teaching me literally not to use reference when drawing because it was "copying".
Yes, more vidoes on colour theory, composition...basically all the art fundamentals. It's not easy finding great, entertaining content on the fundamentals and you guys do a great job.
Awesome tutorials, I think another way to look at saturation is Richness to Bleached outness. At least that is how I was taught to see it and practice it works for me.
Your channel is really useful. Would love to see some videos on the scientific side of colour talking about the different colour spaces, ACES, OCIO, filmic tonemapping etc :)
I would've been extremely disappointed if you hadn't included Albert Bierstadt. In the Sierra Nevada mountains, also my favorite. Arguably, only by a fraction... He painted that scene from a few angles, one from behind the foreground trees on the right. I did find his diligence was on point with his distant details in this painting as opposed to the others of this same scene.
I'm pretty sure in the book you recommended, james gurney's color and light, he says that any of the colors can make claim to being a primary. ie, cmyk in printers. Saying red, yellow and blue can't be mixed is false??? and he shared like 3 different types of color wheels there which confuses the heck out of me
Very proud and glad that all those things i master by practice and self-improvement are actually right. Thanks guy for this well done deconstraction of color theory ❤️
Hey there, I love your videos but there is one thing I think you could improve on. Often times, when you mention a name of an artist I simply cannot understand, his name because you seem to be brushing over it as if most people know them. It would be cool if you could just put a quick annotation on screen or mention them in the comments. That way people could find the artists you a referring to more easily. Anyway keep the amazing content up, much love!
You have no idea how many times I had to repeat this part 10:28 because of the whistle, I just had to prove that it was in the video and not outside my window oh god. I am latina and it is night. We do not whistle at night because we believe it calls demons, and I got so scared ahahahhaha. Anyways, very good video! Thank you !
Do any of you have advice on a good computer monitor for accurate color reproduction/reference? So far I'm looking at a ViewSonic VP2468 & BenQ BL2420PT. Thanks!
Do you guys have a video going over that Adobe page subject specifically? Why, When would one want to use either the Analogous, Monochromatic, Triad, Complementary, Compound, etc.? I mean, *when* to use one palette over another... its basic purpose?
So far no one has been able to answer my question: why the color that color picker picks is different from the color that it displays? I'm getting desperate!

It's hard to imagine learning before youtube...but we did it, haha
I don't have the right to whine for not having learning resources 😁 cause everything is there for me and I am very lucky.

@FlippedNormals Great video. Do you have a link to this danish painter or painting? Can't find him.

Great vid GG. however... for the love of all that is good please use a dark theme. That white background >.
Yeah, that''s a killer. Can only glimpse at the screen, then look away.

Please do advanced Mari course.
if comment requests worked just like that, we would have all the information in the world, no offence, lol
Devjit Paul They respond to all the requests believe me 😃
@@Tritoon710 I'm new here, and is what you say is true then awesome and I wanna be a AAA 3D game environment artist, cheers
Devjit Paul Good luck man 👍🏻
It's true, almost 😅
Can't guarantee anything as we're very focused on painter at the moment.
But it's still on our list
Amazing sir

Are you from Denmark? your accent sound somewhat like it
plz do more of Color theory when you time )
Great video as always but im just going to take a second to thank TH-cam for putting in the great feature of double commercials 👍
I also agree great video guys, But way too many commercials its a be a bit much youtube !!
What the fuck, never heard of Hudson River School, first time seeing these works. It's too good
Would be nice if at least some of the excess white was limited. This vid is a bit long for talking about color, when almost half the screen is glaring
No glaring for me
But I can mix red. It’s yellow and magenta.
In subtractive color (CMY) but not in additive (RGB)
So far no one has been able to answer my question: why the color that color picker picks is different from the color that it displays? I'm getting desperate!
it was worthy especially Hudson river school.
Hudson River School is incredible!
Can you make tutorials for MudBox?
zaaankokunatenshinoyouniii~
少年よ 神話になれ
Im mexican, and i can confirm that we see everything though an orange filter
😂
All color wheels are false.
