thanks, very good explanation showing all information necessary (latch, position of the pin, model of the bulb), gonna attempt the replacement as soon as i get the new bulbs!
Great vids, and really helpful. Got a "different" question for you - How old were you when you first realised your thumbs bent the opposite way to most everybody else? I was about eight, when I noticed that what I thought were my "normal" thumbs bent the other way to everyone else I knew. You're the first person I've seen on TH-cam whose thumbs go the same way 😁👍
Snap! my friend I guess we have the same affliction (send me photo or YT them :-)). Never bothers me much and I've always thought they were normal, but we are all different in out own unique ways :-) update: just googled it. It is called 'Hitchhikers thumb' and they are hypermobile joints :-) wow, I am different ;-)
Thanks for the video! Just a question on the brake light. Would it be possible to put a double filament lightbulb there too and make some kind of connection in order to have double rear lights burning when you switch on the lights.
This is a very helpful video thank you but one question I want led bulbs for all the rear lights what colour bulb do you get for the brake light red or white also can you make a video for the 3rd brake light as I have a vrs and would like to change the bulb on that to but cant find any videos on this
Thanks, glad you like it. The only coloured lamp would be the indicator lamp as that has a clear lens. If you change the brake lamp to brighter led's it can wash out the lens to look white and less red :( . I did this and was dissapointed so reverted to the standard lamps. I think it would be best to get some that are of a similar brightness, which may need a bit of internet research to find the best ones. Or as you say if the lamps are red to start with they may just work great, but I haven't tried this. Let me know the results if you decide to have a go and do this. I will do a video of the 3rd brake light :-)
Hi pal just wondering if you have a link to a wiring diagram for the brake lights. I put some LEDs in and now I get a 'lamb out' warning on the dash every time I press the brakes. That isn't too much of a problem but it also makes a rather annoying beep now every time I brake! 😂 Long story short I need to install a resistor to trick the obc into thinking there is a bulb there but I don't know which wires are positive for the brake light and which one is ground. Any help would be appreciated. (p.s. I have looked at the bulb holder circuit board and there looks like a path/connection going from the brake light to the first connection on the plug which leads me to believe it might be the first wire I need to splice into but I'm not 100% sure.
Sorry, I don't have the exact model/specification as I bought those 5 years ago for around eu12.00/pair online. I think they have improved a lot since and even brighter by the look of it.
My girlfriend has a Fabia and some very odd things are going on with her rear lights. Neither of the top brake lights work even though the bulbs are brand new, but the bottom dual lamps that you say are fog lights work as brake lights and side lights on her car, so she has no rear fog lights, can you shed any light (pardon the pun) on what the hell is going on?! Reverse and indicators works fine! Thanks.
The lamps start to do odd things when the brake pedal switch starts to fail, so I would look at that after checking all the lamps are the correct type/size, etc and all have good contact within the fitting. have a look at my video th-cam.com/video/So8m6LwsD4c/w-d-xo.html that shows the brake pedal switch :-)
I’ve discovered (after 5 years of owning this car) that the fog light in the back is only on the driver’s side. After many attempts at trying to figure out why it was not working on the passenger side, it seems there is no wiring for the fog light even though they usually just use the double filament bulb.
Firsst make sure the lamp replacement is the same type and size then check all connections (maybe do this activating the lamps if careful) check the earthing connections, check with obd2 reader if you have one and clear the codes. This is a common issue and will likely get worse with older models. It is often a temperamental problem coming and going. One thing is the brake pedal switch goes faulty after a while and can throw up faults so that needs to have been replaced with the newer switch version for sure.

you're very welcome, glad to help :-)
Tetszett a tartalék izzók tárolási módja.Köszönöm a videót.
szívesen. talán egy kis fix rekesz vagy doboz is elférne a karosszéria panelen.
Köszönöm@@HatBoyHarvey
Aways great to watch your videos, very helpful! Thanks
Thank you for the clear and informative videos I am learning a great deal and gaining confidence to do more with each successful job completed! 👏👍
Great to think my videos are helping :-)
Another Banger video, cheers HRH 👍
Much appreciated :-)
You videos are very useful , i appreciate your effort , thanks .
So nice of you, glad you like them :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey Cuz maybe i have the same car and i like to fix it with my own 🤭
Thank you for this video
My pleasure :-)
Lovely little job, 60p for a bulb, 2 mins fitting
@@S5UPERCHARGED Exactly the words I was looking for. If a rear LED light fails on a modern car it's £200 ;-/
Thank you, thank you thank you. Excellent video.
Glad it was helpful :-)
Thanks mate. Great video
No problem 👍

Thanks. Everything is possible, I am sure, but I will leave that one to someone else as I feel a headache coming on :-)

I found the diagram online. It's the black/ red wire for the brake light on both sides and ground is brown as usual.
Brilliant think I’ll get some LEDs for mine
The reversing ones are a definite improvement ***
👍🏻
I like this viedo too :-) Can you tell what kind of LED light did you use instead of reversing light?

I think this is very easy to do if you want 2 lamps
Since i changed rear left position light, warning light has turned on on my dashboard, dont know why, model is škoda fabia combi 1.4 16v 2000 elegance
