I would use an sticky back LED strip under the back of the lower shelf to remove shadow, and being self adhesive and thin it will not impede anything you slide under the shelf.

Eine Idee: Für das bohren mit abgesenkten Tisch müssen scheinbar extra lange Bohrer her. Wie wäre stattdessen ein "Adapter"? Einfach ein zweites Bohrfutter nehmen und hinten nur eine Welle mit entsprechender Länge anbauen. Dann sollten auch normale Bohrer gehen. Grüße und weiter so!!!

i did almost the same thing by using ikea billy shelf. its nice because its stackable so you could just set another one on top if you need more space

There is a good trick, for boards with this kind of finish, to prevent fraying. Just put a strip of Maskingtape, where you want to cut it.
