I grew up in an emotionally and mentally abusive home and my mom’s younger sisters (she’s the oldest of 4) were what I call my “safe people.” I knew I could confined anything in them and go to them when I needed them. Especially my oldest aunt (second oldest sister). Well, the thing is, I’m the black sheep of the family. In one way, I am the only person who is openly democrat. I don’t like talking politics, it’s only ever started fights. But ever since learning I’m a democrat, my family (mom and oldest aunt especially) like to bring it up as much as possible around me. Like, the pitch a fit when democrat politicians in office make speeches on the television at a restaurant. The subtitles are on and volume is off, but just because they see a politician that’s democrat, or just not republican, they have to start squealing “oh look! It’s the circus! The circus is on tv! I didn’t know they put the circus on tv! @$$holes!” Again, they KNEW I’m democrat. But this REALLY blindsided me when on a car ride, with my oldest aunt and grandpa, my aunt brings up politics. While I don’t like discussing them, I WILL counter each of their arguments and try my best to explain my point of view. So, my aunt is getting heated and just blurts out, to her niece who she knows democrat and she knows greatly loves and looks up to her, “well, the world would be so much better is all these damn dems op would just die all ready!” I made a joke once about one republic dying and she freaked out on me about how that’s not right, but SHE can say something just as bad about an entire group of people, which she knows her niece is a part of? I pointed that out, that I’M a democrat and her response was just a “yeah, so? I’m still right” kind of attitude. I have greatly pulled back from her since, but she whines to me every once in a while 5hat she misses me and doesn’t know why I don’t see her so much anymore. @@Maniacman2030 like I said, I’m open about my political views but not hostile or confrontational and I’m never the one the one to start it. The only time I’ve ever inserted myself into a political conversation was when my mom and grandpa where picking on a Biden supporter because where we live, there weren’t many (if any) Biden signs. I had to point out to them that most of the people where we live a fierce Trump supports who have openly started they would burn any Biden signs and hinted at becoming physically violent towards people who openly supported Biden in anyway, and that was the party THEY were choosing to support. They shut up after that. I know there are problems within each party. Democrats just happened to support my ideals and values. But I feel like if someone isn’t willing to allow themselves to considered the other person’s view of a topic (political or not) then they should just leave the topic alone all together. Where I’m from, politics are only brought up to either brag about the politicians of one’s party or to purposely start a fight. And that’s how it is with all political parties here, not just one or the other. Most people don’t see it as a way to respectfully and genuinely discuss views of the world or what needs to be changed. It’s just a way to cause problems without being “the bad guy.” I was able to have a polite discussion about politics with a republican a few months ago. We both agreed on certain things and we both respectfully disagreed and I at least had a bit of a better understanding of why this person saw the world the way she did. That’s how I feel those kinds of discussions should go. That’s why I try not to insert myself in those kinds of discussions or start them with my family. They don’t have the emotional capability to communicate their feelings properly without getting upset, especially when the person they’re talking to points out flaws in their logic. And they don’t have the capability of seeing past their own emotions and thoughts (as I had quickly learned) to try and understand another person. They’re like little children who HAVE to be right all the time or they throw a tantrum and it’s frustrating.
I have know this person for most of our lives and we have been best friends, especially since they were homeschooled and i was technically their only friend. I introduced them to my group/friends and that group invalidated me, told me i was lying and being manipulative, and called me ableist when talking about the emotional abuse i went through from another person in the group (my ex) even with proof. This social justice warrior hardcore liberal left me for the people they complained about the WHOLE time they knew them. I got replaced by the chick who called me n her the r slur MULTIPLE times too.. my friends sister is autistic and my friend fought hardcore with there parents for using that slur. I guess its not the same if your friends use it🤷🏼♀️ my abuse wasn’t beneficial enough to actually care about💀 mind you i wasn’t allowed to talk about what was happening so the time i spent talking about it was replaced with her bragging about therapy☺️

25:44 Shades of Bernardo and Homolka.
Trinston was here.
There should be a warning about some of these stories.

Oof Big oof
Friend since we were 8 years old cut me out of his life for being a NEET and not wanting to get a job.
We did everything together.
We're both 31 now and he threw a hissy fit about me being lazy 7 months ago.
It must be so hard on him knowing that i get to sit around playing videogames all day while he has to work like a slave.
Ever hear the saying “You are the average of the 5 people you spend most of your time with”? For people who are trying to make something of their life, grow and progress, cutting you off after 8 years is long over due and they’ve probably put in a lot of effort trying to help you only to be written off as jealous.
