Hey Lorin! Happy fall! Those clothes are all so cute! For independent play try Melissa & Doug toys or Barbie’s. Our daughters are the same age & barbies are what she’s playing with the most now.
I don’t allow my daughter to have the small pieces that come with them. I put those in a ziploc bag for when she’s older. They’re so tiny and easy to choke on.
regarding your comment on trying to figure out toys that will engage your daughter for independent/imaginative play I am right now decluttering all my 13yo sons old toys .. and reminiscing, so, this may or may not be helpful to you, because it’s all my experiences .. •looking back I would mostly buy toys that I liked trying to avoid cheap toys however, I think I should have had him be a little more involved maybe pick 50% of toys so that he has some “buy-in” to want to play with it. •As well, (you may already enjoy these) I highly recommend Montessori style toys they are categorized by age and are excellent for learning/imaginative play. Melissa and Doug have some nice sets and they include the Montessori style cleanup trays to help children learn how to tidy up easily (and keep things sorted) •I wish I would have been more purposeful to sit down every once in a while and play with specifically the Montessori style toys with him, the goal with these kinds of toys are specifically meant to be for independent play, but if I would have gotten down next to him and played maybe a bit more during the week with every set and while playing kind of play in a way that he sees me and how I do it and then it engages him into playing with it himself and then slowly walk away it can “kickstart” it? (I am talking like 10 minutes sitting with him, not hours of play we don’t have time for that 😆) The problem is he always wanted to play with me, so this seems counter productive, but it is all with the goal of him having me model the play just a bit. And your daughter is still a bit young in a year or so she will definitely be getting into imaginative play and then will pull from the modeling you did with the toys she has. She might like the Lil’Woodzeez or Calico Critters for imagination play. Anyways, I don’t know if any of this is helpful, apologies for this essay on toys 🫣just little things I think back on, and since you mentioned pondering that subject. ☺️
The way your daughter treats you shows how good of a mom you are to her! I love them authenticity 💕
I’m so happy this is more than an hour long 💕💕💕

Hey 🫶🏽 Thanks for the recommendations, I think I’m gonna buy more Barbie toys. How do you manage to keep up with the small pieces?
