In this video I show how to save a lithium tool "Dead" battery. Some brands happen to allow their batteries to discharge (during normal operation of the tool) to levels that will not allow them to be recharged. I know - crazy right!!!
For some brands this is pretty common. The Toro battery used in this video is brand new and used on a Toro blower until it died. Sort of normal stuff.
Well the good news is that the battery is not a complete loss if you have a second battery available to jump start it and fix the battery. Save the battery and now recharge it!

what if you don't have two of the same toro batteries? do you need to match voltage and amps?
Thank you so much. My name is Bryant and I saw your video on the Toro battery these batteries are a pain. Thank you so much for your video. I really really appreciate it. You are the best. I thought I was going to have to buy another battery again now I’m gonna try this on the battery and see if that will reset the battery. Thank you so much again for your help.
You are very welcome
worked like a charm! thank you
i have a black and decker 20v battery but just that one. i have 2 milwaukee 18 volt batteries and tried this but it didnt work. do you think an adjustable 0 to 24v ac to dc power supply might work? i might as well try it because its probably dead anyway right?
This worked perfectly!! Thank you 🙏
Glad it helped!
Works! Hint, use solid core wire. Stranded can work….but it’s MUCH more difficult. Be very careful not to cross the wires or let them touch each others exposed ends.
What happens if they are exposed ? I accidentally made mine spark and now the battery doesn't charge or power the tools
@@Leighton_ohgosh what ended up happening with the battery ?
What gage wire is recommended for a 20volt battery?
So anyway of doing something with out 2 batteries?
I tried this same idea on a craftsman V60 battery and there's something different. The Craftsman appears to charge in 3 different places. Maybe not, but I've tried from another fully charged battery and the wires don't even get warm after 2 minutes of jump starting. I've done this with Milwaukee and Dewalt batteries, but something isn't right with this Craftsman. Thanks anyway!
Bro, I was just about to toss out my 5Ah battery it was blinking red when charging. Tried your solution and it worked!!! Thanks for saving me $400 bucks for a new battery !!!
throw me a sub
@@Kitearmy say less
How long did you leave the two batteries connected?
How long do you leave the two batteries connected?
It said he waited 30 seconds
Are both wires copper ? Why is one white and one black did you color it yourself
Tried this, still doesn't charge. No red or green light on charger. Charger broke ?
I just did it. My 60 was at 14v and wouldn’t charge at all and just kept at red. Jumped it and it’s all charged up. Video coming. THANK YOU
Which wire did you use?
Legit 🙌 thank you
This works. My battery charger had the red blinking light of death. The other battery was an EGO battery from my leaf blower.
Same system works on stubborn laptop batteries that have overdischarged and can't be detected.
What wire was used here ?
Worked Thanks
My battery won't charge. Red light blinking. I opened it up and re aligned all the mini batteries inside then plugged it in again and it worked and got it to charge again.
Will that work on Dewalt batteries?
Yes.
@@veronikaveronika2344 Thank you. I shall give it a try.
Works on any battery. Just make sure the voltage is similar.
right
Does this work on kobalt battery?
Does this work on ego batteries as well?
Yes I did it this morning!!!
@@Pcastellon13 awesome. Thank you.
So it's because of the sleeping BMS?
Wow, now that's info I can definitely use since I am a Toro guy. Thank you!!
I did this now the charger doesn't even blink for them lol. They're both fried hahaha
what if i dont have a good battery?
Just got a the Toro mower with this battery, and as is the tradition for Toro... something just 100% doesn't't work. In. this case, the battery. Blinking red. I HATE TORO!
EGO mate
Same, brand new, blinking red. Taking it back.
If that bas battery got a short inside, and u plug the good battery with that jumper, u r gonna f it up... good battery will die
You just saved me $215. It worked thank you Soo much!
This does not work
That's cool and all but I wanna know why tf are my BM's like cinder blocks I tried jumping my digestive system and it done nothing but fry/burn my nipples... In hindsight youtubetroll69 was probably jerking my chain a bit 😬
I don't even know what you guys get out of line to people
This year absolutely does not work absolutely does not work at all on no batteries no brands
Did not work for me and I am not about to open it up and try and do a reset etc. It’s disappointing since the Rigid drill is only a year old.
Trash batteries my has died 2 times in one year time span.
Toro better fix this
Yes ! Having problems.
Mine was used one winter. Wont charge fully. What a joke. Need people to know
