I'm a 52 year old woman. Grew up loving the Bee Gees! This came out in the 70s. It's great to see young women appreciating the Bee Gees and their wonderful love songs today!

One of the greatest groups of all time The Bee Gees received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame in 1979 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 1997. The brothers gibb: Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, this song is a classic and of course Barry Gibb with his incredible and iconic falsetto voice......great reaction girls thanks so much😀😊

Barry Gibb, (Robin Gibb, Maurice Gibb, twins), Andy Gibb all brothers. All the proceeds of the song went to the charity UNICEF. It generated the equivalent of 20 millions dollars by today's standards. Best falsetto ever and best hair !!!!

That’s my favorite Bee Gees song. Best harmony ever. You should reward to “more than a woman”. Also shows off Barry’s crazy falsetto

  • @dortheychastain2195

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad!

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️

The Bee Gees could sing incredibly high notes, as you saw, but they also sang songs in a more common voice range. They wrote over 1000 songs, and also wrote songs for other artists, eg. 'Islands in the Stream' for Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers.

Barry Gibb said he loved the Falsetto's of the black groups like the Stylistics, Earth, Wind, and Fire etc. back in the day.
What made the BeeGee's unique was they had a three part falsetto group. I dont know any other group that did falsettos that way.

When they recorded this, they had already been professionally recording for over 20 years. If you very carefully listen, you'll notice their diction and vibrato are so in sync that it sounds like one voice with multiple overtones. This was one of their most notable characteristics along with being masters of the falsetto. Also, they wrote over 100 songs for other artists that became top hits. You'll be totally astonished when researching big hits that they wrote.

The name was not specifically a reference to "Brother Gibbs". It is a popular belief though. It was named after Bill Gates (not that one), Bill Goode and Barry Gibbs who all shared the same initials. It was later changed from BG's to Bee Gee's.

They are the Brothers Gibb (Bee Gees). They of course are brothers and Barry is the lead singer with the AMAZING falsetto voice and Robin and Maurice are twins. They also had another younger brother Andy Gibb who died tragically at such a young age. It's so nice to see this young generation enjoying music from these legends. Robin and Maurice recently passed away leaving only Barry left. Thank you for this great video! :)

Donna Summer had some big Disco hits too..

Barry is the one in the middle. He is the oldest and the only surviving brother. Robin, on Barry's right and Maurice on his left were twins. They also had a younger brother named Andy who died at the age of 30. Andy was mostly a soloist but once in awhile would sing along with his brothers.

Just a little technical fact. While auto-tune didn't exist back in these days they used track layering. In this case there are 27 layers of vocal tracks, the voice and vocals is all theirs though and is in no way manipulated through a computer algorithm.

This video was recorded in 1978, they have been performing since 1957. I've always been a fan of them they really established themselves with the John Travolta movie Stayin Alive. On a more somber note I must give a lot of credit to Barry (the one in the middle with the great hair.) because his brothers are all in heaven. The youngest brother Andy died a few years before this video. Get some good sleep Andy, Maurice, Robin........look after your big brother.

You should react to How Deep Is Your Love. Barry Gibb (the lead singer in the middle) uses more of his normal singing range in that one although he does hit the high falsetto several times. Also has the beautiful harmonies you come to expect from the Bee Gees and peaked at #1 in the US. How Deep is one of the all-time great slow dance love songs.

The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.' I was married a year before this song was released. The song would had been our wedding song, even if hubby said no.
They wrote ALL of their songs! Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in England, then moved to Australia.
    (1) Maurice (on the right-short hair ) While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003. I feel he should had been the lead on at least one song on every album. Beautiful voice.
    (2) Robin (on the left-long hair) passed in 2012 from cancer. He and Barry complimented each other with their voices. To me, he was the comedian of the group. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins.
    (3) Andy, (not pictured) the youngest brother had his own successful career. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30, from inflammation of the muscles around his heart. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry. The 3 brothers were also married and had children.
    (4) Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide (probably more by now.) They were also writers for other musical artists.
On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76, January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family. Listen to: How Deep Is Your Love ----- Staying Alive --- You Win Again --- Emotion (a song written for Samantha Sang)

Yep songs like How Deep is your Love, staying alive, You should be Dancing, More than a woman, Night Fever, and jive talking.

The Bee Gees where from Australia. They were all brother's. They started out real young and it took a while for them to make. They were popular in the 70's and 80's. The disco era. They traveled the entire globe performing after they hit it big. They also had a younger brother named Andy Gibb who preformed around the same time who they helped get in the music business. Sadly Andy got involved with the wrong kind of people that were into drug's and alcohol. And he passed away. His brother's were devastated because they had promised there Mom they would look after him. They did there best Barry said but he wouldn't listen. Barry could hit such high notes when he sang. He had perfect pitch. And they all had God given talent. Unfortunately Barry is the only one still alive today. But during there time they preformed with some of the biggest names in the business. And they also wrote and produce a lot of there music. I heard on a documentary than t while Barry was preforming he was in severe pain in his back but because he did not like to disappoint his fan's because it took so long for them to make it he endured it. Now that takes a lot of courage.

Hate to admit my age but this gave me flashbacks to my early teens!!!
Fourth Impact just released a new music video as a tribute to the first responders who put their lives on the line daily during the pandemic, of Bridge over troubled Waters (So Hyang's version)!!! I still haven't seen the entire video clearly, as the tears always cause a blur!!! It is just that incredible!!!! Please add it to your list!!!!

Love your reaction. Appreciate good music. If you haven’t yet, can you react to Kenny Rogers “Lady” live performance.

Tales of the Sea Wolf: Engage the corvette portside first, Mr Gibb, she's already listing. Then hard to starboard. That frigate won't outrun us, she's low on resistance. Engaging corvette portside, Sir.

Back in the 1960s before they discovered Barry Gibbs very high falsetto voice he sang a lot of song well a few songs without that high falsetto voice you get a better idea of his real voice and some of his older stuff most all of his later stuff is got that high falsetto.
