- Low effort Brachy run, just wanted to show off this monster after it was announced for Iceborne. Never really liked the Brachy fight in GU tbh and the fact that there are almost no runs of Brachy aside from Valor HBG is quite telling. Nonetheless I'm excited about it since it's a badass monster and the Iceborne fights so far have been pretty promising.

He’s annoying as fuck. Moves around so much. Normal Brachy isn’t too bad, but Raging is one of my most hated monsters

I was playing with guild style all the way until the the g rank urgent mission (diablos) because I was unsure about other styles but damn this looked so fun I had to go try it and I have to say it is the most satisfying way to play this game 😍
It Is also how Monster Hunter started to deviante from actual Monster Hunter, though.
I don't mind If It means relieving me from fighting Brachydios while worrying about getting blastblight =]

I honestly wish they made it more aggressive in MHGU than just random movement like running and doing absolutely nothing. Hopefully in Iceborne it isn't like this and way more aggressive.
They made Deviljho very aggressive in comparison to his past incarnations I wouldn’t be surprised if they tweaked him into being way better

@@nofanfelani6924 everything is more aggressive in 4U, especially at lvl 140 they don't fuck around with OHKO stuff and they attack faster, or at least it seems like it
@@f45411 It's just damage. And man doing 140 guild quests were painful but rewarding. That's honestly where majority of my time was spent with the 5000+ hours I spent on MH4U.
@@staticparsley6262 If I recall when Jho was added to MHW, many hunters already had late-game armour/weapons (compared to older games when you normally encounter Jho in early HR while you're still likely in LR armour essentially what Bazel did in MHW).
Sadly Brachy got a lot of glory weapons stolen from Hellblade and Crimson as far as blast is concerned, and it's armor is a mess. I do hope that Iceborne gives it the return it deserves
I don't really want the slime weapons from 3u back tho. They were way to strong.
@@Skylair95 they always nerfed things that were OP from initial introduction
CB nerfed really hard between 4U and Gu and IG nerfed as well, but its balanced (i heard it was nerfed harder in world)
SA and blast/slime also got nerfed from 3U into future games, although in GU the mix of demon riot and energy charge is really solid for constant sword mode in the right hands, i just started SA in GU and its quite fun, especially with evade extender
Don't remind me, every fucking blast weapon gets wiped off the face of the earth when compared to Crimson weapons in GU. High affinity, high raw, purple sharpness, high blast blight......
@@brainer5457 you need sharpness+2 and razor sharp to get sustainable purple sharpness, but yes about the other stuff
although if you couldn't fit those skills or want other skills (like EE on SA) then hellblade weapons were another good option, 30 less raw but you get deviant boost and can go without sharpness skills

I know that the window for the GP is very small but holy shit is it broken when you know how to use it properly.
Feels amazing to land it though.
HomecominX yeah it’s quite ridiculous but when you land it there’s nothing more satisfying.
It's honestly a forgiving GP, and yeah it's pretty damn broken if you can read a monster's move. It's how I actually beat Boltreaver EX solo after so many randoms failing it when I posted and man was I happy. It's really satisfying.

Everything is of course better when you know how to use it but it just baffles me how this made it into the game.

Did the horn break at least dampen his headbutt explosion radius? Or is it purely for material drops?
There are other monster part breaks that affect their movement/attack, not just elder dragons
Brachidios arm break makes him need to lick his arms more often
Barioth arm break makes him slip on ice
Gypceros head breaks makes him unable to flash
etc.
@@dsg9648 Breaks wings of dreadqueen/dreadking to make them flashable in air, break head for boltreaver to be flashed, breaking front legs and trunk of elderfrost makes it unable to reapply ice, cutting tali of soulseer makes it unable to soften again with bubbles; are just some that comes to mind
I think diablos also deals less damage with its charging attacks if you break off both of its horns.
Glavenus tail cut significantly reduces his tailspin damage
Also, most tail cuts reduce tail swipe range, and cutting raths tail weakens the poison's power.
But in case of breaking brachydios head, i don't think it reduces anything.

Instead of monsters punishing aggressive players, Canta punishes aggressive monsters. All of those back to back counters starting at 1:38 were nice.
I wish the average Brachy would always be that aggressive. One of the reasons I dislike GU Brachy is because it usually tends to waste time with random side-/backsteps or camping near slime puddles.
@@CantaPerMe I agree. Eventually you could just stand next to a slime puddle and time the explosion in order to execute an adept dodge. Allowing you to pull off your attack.

Just know that both sinking the head attack and the explosion attack are not In the same frame data, so you gotta deal with both attacks somehow. [Canta dodged the explosions with valor-dodging, for example]

Of course there aren't many Brachydios. That monster's become way more nuisant than the original release back In MH3U (imo).
The best part about this video Is how It proves Brave Longsword Is *the way for easily breaking his pouders with no effort* In comparison to other ways :/

It's not an easy fight per se. Valor LS + hunter arts are just really strong imo.
well, theres no frenzy in GU, hyper brach can be considerably fast, so hes not slower, valour style is just EZPZ broken :P
@@Laoruperteen18 no its not, valor ls guard point is a lot like the foresight slash from mhw, you have to fight a monster a lotta times to master it. thats why its not completely broken
@@knoccychoccho4739 Valour isnt a guard point....you can literally hold the button down and wait for fifty years until a monster hits you, which is exactly how you do it in Iceborne with the new Iai Slash, the only difference is that Valour drains your health, whereas there is no penalty for Iai outside of losing a charge of your spirit gauge, which is negligible.
a "Guard Point" is a momentary block that lasts for a few frames with a weapon that has a shield, but with no real payoff other than damage reduction, and Foresight Slash isnt a guard point, but a moment of invulnerability with an immediate counter that rewards you for careful timing, and you cant hold the animation indefinitely like you can with Iai slash, but Valour is absolutely broken, making it so every weapon in the game can avoid almost all damage thrown at them with little to know skill, with counter attacks as a payoff, yea....its broken mate xD

Why he always use small bomb before using items?
It cancels the ending flex animation, so it saves time when you use it to transition from screen to screen. Plus it keeps you safe since you can't get hit while your sliding from the bomb. If he's doing it out in the open, it's usually just to try and stay safe.
Wonder how people can seamlessly transition between World and GU. I’d cart a couple of times forgetting one move in one game doesn’t exist in the other. @.@

That's why I'm holding off on playing world until iceborne, they're completely different games, especially the moves of all weapons
I have no trouble when switching between games because I play world like I play 4U with minor adjustments.

This monster is not hard but annoying. However moving it into the new mhw platform....it will not be as hard due to all the maneuver abilities of mhw. Old gen mh games have limited mobility making it tough.
Finally someone who knows the real reason the old games were hard. People think the monsters were toned down, but it's really the hunters movement that makes it easy. Plus the tools.
@@abyssalrayz9499 yup. Especially when you drink potion and have to stand still for it. Bad hit box, dont have hit values so you dont know which attack is most powerful. No ledge hoping, no bat man move to avoid hits. Limited amount of skills.

He's more slimy. A pain in the ass to melee.
GU Brachy feels a lot more erratic and random imo tho luckily it didn't show much of it in this particular fight. You can see an example of what I mean at 1:29 tho when it ran past me to attack....nothing?
Why everyone uses critical juncture over sakura slash? SL charge time is way faster and has 160 motion value, while CJ has 180
Sakura Slash doesn't give you invulnerability tho. Crit junc gives you invulnerability and also does a lot of damage.
It's situational. Depends on how many of each you can fit in one single hunt and how effectively you can land them on the monster which mainly depends on body frame, size etc...
I'm really curious what they will do with Bracky considering the fights we got at the beta, great run as always Canta :3

Ich frage mich, wie viel HP Raging Brachy aus 4U hatte. Trotz allem gesunden Menschenverstandes (bezüglich meiner bisherigen Runden mit ihm und meiner Waffenwahl) würde es mich doch reizen, ihn solo zu versuchen.
Allerdings wäre es ein downer wenn er vergleichbar ist mit Rusty, oder Ukanlos. Bin kein Freund von HP Tanks.

Chaise its from valor style. The move comes from a period the size of a guard point on charge blade at the beginning of your first spirit attack. If a monster hits you while youre doing a very short movement, it counters it and has a huge motion value
I don't have the game, but I think it's the first attack of the spirit combo. It just has a guard point.
R while in valor mode. it has a short guard point at the start of the swing

You could apply a english patch to the 3ds verison and run off citra from there if you're familiar with emulators
