I purchased a Fujifilm X100F a couple of years ago and once I learned how to use it's plethora of features, I love it. Perfect as an 'everyday carry/travel' camera I bought it for the primary purpose of something easy to carry as an alternative to a bulkier SLR with lenses. For those 'candid snaps' just set it for full auto everything and fire away it will take excellent shots but you have the option of full manual control if you want to get creative or if that's what you're used to (I'm used to manual everything film SLR's). And it has great built-in film simulation choices: want to take a shot in black/white or richer color saturation..just choose those film simulation options from the menu. And it has great close-up capability for tight shots of flowers or whatever. Altogether very pleased with mine.

I had the original X100 in 2012 and sold it at the beginning of 2020. I loved it. I now have a used (but like new) Leica X2 and find it just as much fun as the Fujis, even though it doesn’t have all the extra features of the X100 (video, panoramas, etc.).

  • @larsjlarsj

Totally agree. I recently bought a second hand X100F as a starter for switching from a Canon full frame equipment to Fujifilm. Totally love my X100F and the image quality is stunning. I'm now also getting a X-E 3 or 4 in order to be able to use a tele zoom. Besides everyday and street photography I do a lot of hiking and mountaineering and need to pack light.

I have the T too since it came out. Really like it and took so many memories with it. It is still in great condition. Few F are up for sale locally, one in absolute mint condition with just some test shots being taken….for 700.- swiss francs. Wonder if it is worth to upgrade. I like to shoot jpegs, and dial in my settings. Just very little post if needed. So I‘d like to have acros b&c sim and the option to add grain as well etc.
      Also my T is silver and I wan‘t a black one 😉.
Still unsure whether to upgrade. I like to look of the 16MP sensor. Also still shot my Xpro1 ✌🏻.
But there is something about the X100 line I just love.
      Cheers from Switzerland

I thought I was crazy and the only one who had the same thoughts on this camera., I have a Full Frame Nikon, Crop sensor Nikon, multiple lenses and a high end cellphone with an amazing camera on it. I always felt that for everydayat home and some outings, sometimes the DSLR is a hassle, and my Cellphone is not good enough. I bought a Fujifilm X100F to always be around to document everyday family life, a camera easy enough to always be around and that has amazing camera quality. I leave it lying around at home, in my bag when out and about, just because it is so convenient and enjoyable to quickly grab and use.

I really want it, but after the X-70, I think I'm going to be snapping with the WCL everyday. 28mm just gives layers and drama that 35mm can't get me all the time. I just wish they had a 2x TCL for the long end. 😉

Woo. I'm taking a friend's x100F to a charity ball cos the a7iii and lenses is too big, bulky and intimidating.

Torn between picking up a used 100f/100v OR picking up the Samyang 35mm 2.8 for my a7iii to give me a smaller package. I've got the 35mm 1.8 but for real day to day use it'd be nice having a smaller setup - appeal of getting a Fuji means my Sonys can be safe at home and ready to go for shooting and not playing with my settings and forgetting to change them back.

I have the total opposite opinion about these two cameras--I bought the X100F used to save money, but I don't really like it. I feel like I might enjoy the X100V though.
My biggest problem is the quality of the lens. I like to shoot 35mm lenses wide open, and often pretty close to my subject, and the X100F lens just can't handle it. Crazy ghosting. Also, backlighting has ruined a lot of nice shots for me.
I'm thinking about selling and buying either a GRIII or an X100V. My main body is Sony, an A7III.

It may be a good camera, but I do not think it is cheap nor compact, I will rather have a Ricoh GR/GRII/GRIII or a Sony 6xxx-series camera or just use my iPhone.

It’s cheaper than a GRiii by miles, about the same price as a GRii and almost the same size as a 6xxxx series camera, smaller with a lens

@ Camera Prepper the video is about the 100F not the 100V and I don't know where in Europe you are but I have seen the 100F new for 850 euro and near perfect secondhand for less than 600 euros. I agree the Ricoh is more compact but it does not have a viewfinder. In the end use what works for you.

@@mdw1927 OK, but the headline shows "Fuji X100F X100V", the prices of the 100V and GRIII are new cameras, I haven´t found new prices of the 100F, but no matter if the Fuji´s are new or secondhand, at least here in Europe Fuji are too expensive for what you get.

Here in the US , Ricoh GR III it’s $900 if you are a smart guy you can get the X100v , for $1200, i wanted to buy the Ricoh GR but , x100v has unique features that I really like :
      -weatherproof
      -EV
      -Included ND filter
-I like Fuji lens better( f2.0, 35mm equiv.) sharper
      -better battery life
      -the new flexible screen
-The jps are amazing straight from camera
      -The leaf shutter
I’m a x100 fan since the first model, and I know this not important but I like “made Japan” legend on the back of the screen.
      It’s a great camera ! I think it’s worth it’s price !
I love my iPhone but I won’t use it to document important things in life.

Ok so you complain about the video but don’t have a solution? The X100F is cheaper than an iPhone, cheaper than a Sony point and shoot, you can’t give a better option, so it must be a cheap option, unless you mean it’s not cheap to a loaf of bread maybe?
Also they aren’t $1000 euros you can get one for half that.
