totally excited to start girls5eva, i saw the name and thought 'oh my god what is this horrible crap?' until i saw it was a Tina Fey production w/ Paula. i love that she's playing a gay lady in it too!
It feels safe to assume that both Seth and Paula are both vaccinated. Why not sit beside each other? While I hate republicans suggesting that masks are just theatre - when in fact they remain important even if you have been vaccinated because there are so many who aren’t vaccinated who may be carrying a variant of the virus that may be deadlier - however if both people are vaccinated it doesn’t seem like a huge risk to sit beside each other and doing things unvaccinated people can’t do helps encourage people who haven’t gotten the vaccine to do so. Like if they opened the audience up but only allowed people who have been vaccinated, I feel like that would be awesome and also help encourage people to get their vaccine.
Jay Israel, you make perfect sense, but parts of this country are absolutely crazy right now. In the small county where my parents live in a red state, the vaccination rate is relatively high - only 24 percent of adults 18 and over are vaccinated. In the more rural adjoining counties, the vaccination rate is down in the mid- to low teens, according to The NY Times map on May 15, 2021. But a week or so ago Wal-Mart rescinded its masking policy for anyone who IS vaccinated. The effect is that NO ONE wears a mask in the store anymore. My best guess is that plenty of unvaccinated people are going in there unmasked. If Seth wants to continue to set an example of the kind of behavior the more than 55 percent of Americans who are unvaccinated should follow, it might not be such a bad idea.
