Ive played every F1 game since this one came out, and none of them drive and look like 2017 did. I play this game religiously. I feel like the cars are easier to hustle around the track than any F1 game since. The cars looks amazing. And the actual gameplay itself looks much more crisp than any game since. Career mode was just deep enough and the car improvements menus weren't too confusing. It will always be my favorite F1 game.
It's the R&D progression that does it for me. Every game past that you can jump half the field within a season. Also the last season with those classic graphics, which imo always looked cool.
One thing about 17 that irked me was the graphical glitch that gave a lot of the peripheral edges some weird artefacts (Oddly glad I saw it in this vid because it drove me mad trying to fix it)
No Martini Logo for Williams (supposedly because of Alcohol Sponsorship)... Meanwhile Singha has been in the F1 Games for multiple years (a Thai Beer Company)... Make it make sense. *Not to mention all the gambling sponsors... Almost as if the PEGI3 rating is nothing more than a sorry excuse by Codemasters (and nowadays EA), to simply cut costs in sponsorship deals. (Alternative theory: Maybe the teams and the individual sponsorship holders wanted a bigger cut of the revenue?!)
the 2017 cars were beautiful, reminds me of 2007-2008 cars, very aggresive aero with big tires.
Def my favorite from the hybrid era, sadly it only lasted a year before the halo was introduced but the trade off was worth it
@@cartierclips1126 They would probably look similar with bigger sharkfins tbf
The track layouts in F1 2017 look better than the ones we have in 2018 - 2023
Ehh I think 2018 looks better the lighting and the reflections do it for me
@@lnzob yeah but Austin on the other hand... 😬, is where the pieces started to disappear
Edit: Catalunya too, one of the grandstands is still missing

EA needs to take note
Simple means better
the first f1 game i ever bought, and helped me get into the sport. And i cant express my love for the old intro well enough.
Nice to see there are people like me who fot into F1 through the game! It was F1 2010 for me tho
@@lnzob Havent played 2010 yet, would you recommend it from personal experience? Great video btw, covered the game really well.
@@Wulff_F1 yeah I reccomend F1 2010 if the career gets dry for u try learning how to mod!
One thing i particularly like about this game is the soundtrack, definitely the best of the franchise

I think this is the only game that had different music for your finish position and I wish it was back
Antonio Giovannazzi also race in China that year for sauber I think
Australia too Wehrlein had back issues
One of the most underrated F1 editions in history in my opinion
Love this game and just revisited it and it’s still fun great video
2017 was my favourite game.the wet weather was so good compared to now.
One thing about 17 that irked me was the graphical glitch that gave a lot of the peripheral edges some weird artefacts (Oddly glad I saw it in this vid because it drove me mad trying to fix it)
Playing this rn and it’s still amazing
for me one of the best f1 games ever
Yeah massive step up from F1 2016
@@lnzob2016 is one of my favourite f1 game with 2019 and 2020 don’t disrespect it pls, crash physics were awesome 😂
This game is an actual masterpiece, everything about it it is just better than even the current game

My favorite f1 game ❤
Hi when you have finished the the f1 2003 kimi series you should return to f1 2017 and try to make seb the champion
Its in the cards defs
I miss old F1 so much... I hate new dts era...
What’s wrong with Ferrari’s steering wheel? I mean why is it so damn small?
2017 Russia literally had 0 overtakes
I barely remember that race apart from Alonso breaking down and Vettel flipping the bird at Massa lmao
Sochi is a non-circuit for me; glad to see the back of it.
@@mclarenguy22 personally I love to drive at Sochi but there are also many other tracks that are a dream to drive with poor action like Spa and Monaco
Wehrlein overtake Ericsson in last lap😅
Anyone has F1 2017 latest drm.exe?
16-17-18-20-21, those are the best f1 games ever made. Wasn’t a fan of the rest basically. 22-23-24 suck ass! Ea makes them feel like cheap knockoffs
