wenhao li I am learning about the way the towns are structured, about lifestyles ( restaurants and businesses and how gated communities and building complexes are managed)... about the similarity in the roads and modern cities. I love to learn about rural towns and life for people that have heritage that goes back hundreds of years as well.
I am from Australia, grew up in Melbourne. Haven’t travelled much. Lived in Queensland for 9 years. I’m a couch tourist as I may never have the personal finances to travel to China or Russia or Europe...

@wenhao li I live in Texas. I have traveled abroad but not to China. I was impressed with the large cities. I got to see the inside of grocery stores that were in malls. In Texas, grocery stores are mostly stand alone buildings or in a strip shopping center. So many high rise buildings in so many cities. I enjoyed the way things were organized and the beauty of everyday things such as the roadways. I did not have really any preconceived ideas so I was marveling at the technology and organization. I like learning about China from real everyday people. The same may go for Texas. I do not live on a ranch with cows and horses or wear a cowboy hat and boots. I am just everyday folks.

Hey, if you believe, it is under control now. government mark every single infected person on a map in apps, so the published data is true. maybe some person is infected with no symptoms, thus everyone needs to be careful when they go out of their home. But, if you don't want to believe that, it can be any condition you imagined, and you know, as media said, maybe billion of us die, and any Chinese here to talk to you is bot made by CCP, because all people died.

It is pretty much all backflow cases from overseas now. A Chinese woman who came back from NYC infected 60 in Heilongjiang Province. She was tested 4 times with nucleic tests and anti body tests within 23 days after her arrival and all cleared. Now they want to quarantine people for 28 days upon their arrival. Other provinces are doing fine.

You friend is right, if you dont know much about investing, dont go for stock. I recommend go for mutual fund and index. You only buy on the up trend, but not try to buy at the bottom of the curve, because you never know when the bottom is. Right now i think the world is on a down trend, so my ultimate recommendation is, don't buy anything. Just hold your cash and wait till the world get back to normal.

I just found your channel in the past two days. It is amazing. Yes, please keep on doing what you are doing right now. You need to let Americans know about real China. It is fantastic that you have such deep thoughts and could have a deep conversation here in your Vlog. In most cases, Americans' conversations are rather shallow. Media are very biased and polarized. Most of them have no international perspective. So they look very arrogant and narrow-minded... I am a Chinese-American living in the U.S. I agree with you about living in China with 14 downsides, which are precisely true as a Chinese living in the U.S. Only the last two will not be included, pollution and information freedom. Instead, the U.S. is too slow and too inefficient. A Bart station, a light railway station in Bay Area, was planned and not even start building for 12 years. A Costco store could not begin building after 4 years approved by voters. OMG! And it is in the Bay Area, Silicon Valley, which should represent the highest development in the U.S.
As a Chinese living in the U.S., one will not only suffer the loneliness and lack of rich culture that you could have a deep conversation with but also being discriminated in some areas. You can feel, can see, and fully understand those administrative people are intentionally undermining your effort and set up more obstacles than let's say African American. Even though Chinese Americans also have colored skin. But you know this colored skin does not include that colored skin.
To be objective, living in the U.S. as a Chinese is happy most of the time. But one could encounter such a huge culture shock and unfairness, which was never imagined back in China.
Chinese has started to open their eyes for over a hundred years by the wars. But Americans are very local. It is rear to see a guy like you. Great job. Keep doing it.

Should it pose no threat to you or your family's health, a few interviews with same SME owners would be great. 😎

Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer have increased dramatically in price where we are, if you can even find them. Selling them at minimal profit makes sense. The world will need them for a while because after COVID there will be a lot of medical care that is delayed until after COVID. The oil situation is thought to be because people aren't being allowed to drive places, and some families have everyone who was working in their households now doesn't have a job. The police fire and ambulances are also prioritized by service stations.

The company I am working for have several commercial accounts with different medical suppliers in the U.S. All masks are on backorder with 20 to 90-day lead time. Sad but true, we don't have enough masks in the U.S., that's why the U.S. goverment is not requiring people to wear masks.

Oil .... Bank of China has a wealth management product. Did you see that incident? Someone spent 10,000 yuan to buy oil before the oil fell. The commissioned transaction price was 1 cent, not much.
He thought that 10,000 yuan was not much ,It does n’t matter if you lose it. Then he went to bed. When he woke up the next day, the oil price became negative number and owed 40 million yuan to the bank....

My sister said she is going to wait to see if there is a second wave before she does any more with investing. Over the years I have had several very wealthy individuals try to educate me on investing no more confident than I was before in that world... I will just be happy to have the life experiences that come along. I really enjoy listening to your stories! I would take being the captain on a boat over investing ang day! I loved watching the Professor and Gilligan! Your perspective on different topics I really enjoy! Plant some edible plants to put on your balcony, you can teach your daughter about planting. Business is just business. If it doesn't conflict with the law, you are welcome to do this. The moral thing needed to be noticed is that you should make your products of good quality, make your products match the official standards. As for the profit, you can just make your price by following the market and think about how to low down the cost by technology and management.
I think it's the time to do such a mask business, because it's very likely that this virus may live with us human for at least one or two years. But you should do it just in a small scale and consider how to deal with the factory after the disaster finishes so that you can start production as soon as possible and you will also escape fast once the whole production is excess beyond the requirement.

You remind me of Brazil. Brazil ordered an excessive amount of ventilators and masks then resold them to the U.S. to make HUGE profits. I think there might be a lot of companies out there speculating and hoarding on medical supplies. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense where the billions of masks shipped to the U.S. have gone...
Of course, you should help your family and friends, but you should be compensated for your time/efforts in helping others as long as not being unreasonable. I also mailed packs of masks to my friends in the U.S. and know how annoying it can be to fill out forms again and again. I can't imagine how much human effort it would take to do it as a business. Jiayou!

It’s ok to make some profit making and selling masks just don’t price gouge it. It’s like food, paper towels, people still buy them regardless of capitalized on it out of necessity. There’s lots of private companies making regular masks and then later get reimbursed by government or private donations anyway.

Also, the oil and gas industry could kill us all. Only today, Oxford University divested from fossil fuels. Sandra Detdu, yea...i understand how you feel and you should let your govt know your feelings before it gets really bad. Herd immunity only works if the fatality rate is low like H1N1 flu or if the society can tolerate or accept the death toll, else it's almost akin to cold-blooded murder if not criminal negligence by the power that be. UK was considering this strategy for a while until Boris J was warned about the high death toll and the effect it could have on his govt politically. That made him make a U-turn albeit a little late. Just look at UK's death toll now. But its better late than never.

Hey Matt. You said you didn't want any investment advice, but here I come. You can open online accounts with Charles Schwab, Fidelity, etrade, TD Ameritrade, etc. You can buy and sell stock online. Some of them dropped the commissions to zero a few months back. As far as stock pick, this is a tricky one. Normal Joes like us don't have the time nor access to advanced financial information. The safest investment is the index funds, like S&P 500, or Russell 2000. You don't need to follow individual companies (which they can go under without advanced notice). You just buy into the market as a whole. The index that I mentioned are just the US market. I don't know anything else around the world.

Opportunistic investing ? Well if something is grossly undervalued the only way it is going to move out of that position is when this is recognised by people and they show some confidence in it. You are rectifying the situation by risking your money. That's if you are talking publicly traded stocks.
If it is buying up assets out of desperate situations at an obvious steal is morally questionable.
I once (20 years back I guess) bought a house from a recently widowed young lady with two young children.Turns out that I got the house at a great deal , she could have got 30% more easily and it still haunts me today. You should invest in an established mutual fund. Don't invest in individual stocks.
In the US, the Dow Jones average didn't return to its 1929 peak until about 1955. However, within a few months of the 1929 crash, the Dow Jones average had recovered about 2/3 of its loss. So, if the federal government has learned its lesson from the 1929 crash (namely: during a depression, don't restrict the circulation of currency and don't raise taxes) and if there isn't a third world war, then in a few months after the lockdown is lifted, the market should recover most of its losses. Despite the steady hysteria of the mainstream media, I think that the US economy will improve once the lockdown ends.
