I know this video is 5 years old but here is a little tip for new players, stay close to everyone. The player in the video spent the whole fight at long range and that's why he was dying often. By staying with everyone, he would've received a lot of healing and boons that increase survivability greatly and almost triples the damage of the character. Every profession/build in GW2 gets access to various boons and many traits in character builds spread these boons to 5 more players so the more people around you, the more boons you get. Having said that, staying in range in this video allowed the player to have a wider pov of the fight so the video turned out great. Many new players in gw2 spend most of their playtime with a very narrow pov since most games limit that and don't have anything going on out of the standard pov of the character. So many new players end up missing many things in the game by looking forward and down. Keep your pov wide and look up and around more often. You'll enjoy the game more. Good luck!
The way it lands, oh my god that touch is just wonderful. Touch down on one claw, slide a bit, then slam the other in the ground, with it's tail swinging in the background. It seems so organic and I love it.

I had such a blast on these. The first world boss I did I stumbled upon accidentally and it was the one in that asura building. I was mind blown that there were so many people gathering there in that random place and then it started. I was super hyped and telling the people around how mind blowing it is and they appreciated seeing a new player be so hyped over something that's so mundane to them which at some point they likely enjoyed just as much. One of them gave me some gold to motivate me to keep playing. So wholesome ;_)
For me it was Mouth of Mordremoth. I was checking out streamers playing GW2 while downloading the game and saw someone doing it, that absolutely blew me away.
This the kind of world boss i do just because the battle and the boss are epic.. Nothing more nothing less I do it just for fun I arrive at the map 30 minutes earlier and climp the JP just to gaze at the shatterer while he flies above the map and listen to his roars I love this world boss
I remember fighting Alduin the "World Eater" at the end of Skyrim - he was no bigger than a regular dragon in the game, and I killed him by slapping him repeatedly with a hammer I had no skill in. Then I see this...
If you think this is astounding, wait til you play Dragon's Dogma and fight the red dragon Grigori. Hands down, my favorite depiction of a dragon in media.
They also all control different too. One jumps far, one jumps high, one goes underwater, one teleports, one can fly like a plane, another can fly like a helicopter, one can roll really fast like those one wheeled bikes from MIB. They've all got their specialties and special attack abilities.
As a Ranger using Longbow, if you trait Lead the Wind and position yourself off to the side of one leg while targeting the opposite leg, you can do triple damage due to piercing and 1500 range. This is the case with both Shatterers, Claw of Jormag, Teq and Drakkar.
Dragon fights in gw2 (in story) are awesome, some lack the scale but still awesome imo.. But meta events where you fight dragons are nothing short of EPIC
Out of curiosity, what didn't click with you? I'm still new to the game myself and have tried several times to get into it. There are many things about the game I'm not a fan of, but overall I'm still mostly enjoying the game I'd say. I think it's gonna depend on raids being fun at endgame, if I stick around in the long run.
You wont find this in ESO. I still cant understand how people can think ESO is better than this game. First of all ESO has no art direction, style, design. It has basic textures and models, its amateur. Its does not have animations of gw2, its clunky as fuck. And just look at the models, the raptor mount etc, you wont find such smootly animated and looking stuff in ESO. Even the UI in ESO is so ugly and basic like from year 1999. How can ESO have more players then gw2 is beond me. I tried a few times to play ESO, but it really is bad. Even the class system is shit, was supposed to be classles, but i rather have classic TES classes than that made up shit. ESO is really just like the amazon mmo.
I agree with your comment. I truely do. But I played ESO much more. Voice acting , overall game lore ( Coming from all Elder Scroll Games) and the feeling of action in dungeons and bosses were more enjoyable than GW2. And sometimes simple means more players. GW2 is a little bit confusing to really get into the real gameplay. Thats my opinion of course. Said that, I totally quit ESO but may play GW2 later again.
I’ve never played eso and I love gw2, but I’ve found that trying to get friends/family to play has been much more difficult than when I played wow. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I always have to encourage people to keep at it. It even took me 3 separate occasions spaced years apart (launch, 2015, 2018) to finally get hooked, but now it’s my favourite game I’ve ever played and it’s the only game I ever really play anymore.
Honestly agree too. Maybe it's that I expected Skyrim Online instead of... whatever the fuck ESO is. People say the voice acting and story is good, but it just feels so disconnected and doesn't hook me at all. I used to love playing Skyrim and I'll definitely play any new Elder Scrolls games that come out, given they don't look and play like ESO. I still have it downloaded since I just recently tried it out and I plan to get at least one character levelled and geared to try out some raids but man... knowing people use addons to tell the mechanics and all that turns me off that as well so... meh. Idk. I like my character enough but that's about it. And the charactets just looks so ugly and cartoonish. I got my Khajiit and Orc to look decent and that's about it. The proportions bother me. I could keep ranting but I'll spare you. You get the point.
It would be amazing if the bosses actually posed a threat and only the best would defeat it, but it seems to me that this is a "everyone gets their trophy". Of course that it would need to scale according to the number of players around it so you could do it even alone. I have been thinking on getting into this since i was given the game but it looks like it's an easy game and that will bore me just like Grim Dawn, i was falling asleep with that game because it's too easy.
There is no death penalty in this game so there is never a real threat. You can die 20 times fighing world boss and you loose nothing except value of your participation prise.
The actual difficult endgame content is in the Raids, Strike Missions (instanced near-raid level bosses), and Fractals (mini-dungeons with varying difficulty modifiers). So there is tough stuff to push your skill.
There’s a number of world bosses that you won’t be able to kill if your group isn’t working together effectively or there’s not enough people. One of which turns the immediate area into a FFA pvp zone for a few minute after it escapes, so you can rage out and kill all the players around you.
No it's definitely not easy especially if you gotta fight alot of enemies at once and some bosses have very high damage attacks that you gotta dodge and some even comes with a whole fucking army you gotta fight
In terms of dying and losing all your items it doesnt happen. But you could easily fail some of the world bosses and meta events if the team isnt coordinated. Dragons end in the newest expansion had a 6% success rate, it was tweaked because such a low success rate people will stop doing it but still runs about 60% success rate which is still pretty competitive for open world bosses. Definitely a chance to fail considering all the preparation that goes into the event. Triple trouble is another really hard world boss that if you don't have a commanders coordinating with each other on discord you will surely fail.
It's a mastery level 13 doing a world boss. The hell were you expecting? It's not like GW2 is a mechanically heavy game where you need to constantly keep track of everything on your screen and have perfect reaction time. Don't touch the red circles, know your abilities, press your buttons at the right time. It ain't that complicated. Acting all superior in an mmorpg is so cringe.

Dont even care about people like this, atleast having fun and battles in such a scale is something that you never see in world of WoWToken craft

You join a boss train, run around, kill bosses like this one and then, at the end of such run You enjoy the spoils, boss took 7 minutes to kill, what do you expect, game changing loot?

The bosses are really fun especially with alot of people and you can get some pretty cool weapons or armor from the loot
