I saw this live at Headliners in Louisvile KY, I think it was the last number they played, but I remember how I felt during this tune in particular; my eyes were closed, all the vibrations cutting through me, and i was in a sun-soaked field of tall grass with a gentle breeze, and stayed there until it as over. It was the purest joy I swear.. just basking in it. Every note was warm and thick. That show just can't be compared to any of the many others i've been to. Just a whole different experience that I remember very fondly and often. God bless.
Man I don't have words to describe the rollercoaster of emotions my soul is going through at this moment, I'm in a place of such serenity it brings me to tears of pure joy.
Wow, only 9k views versus 80k on some of the other songs? The listeners are sleeping on the slower songs on this album. They are just as satisfying as the up tempo hard bop flavored songs in my opinion.
Only 9 comments!?? Why, because it's called Leroy and Lanisha?? Lol honestly, this is my 2nd favorite song on the whole album after Askim. Everyone was killin it on here, but the ending? True American spirit of jazz right there! So many beautiful images of Black joy comes to me when I hear this song and that lively ending. What a beautiful soul Kamasi and everyone else is.

Instead of White joy? Why not call it joy, cousin, let's share the goodness!
I love how this seems to echo the melody from The Rhythm Changes.
it’s the same basic progression but down 3 half steps
