The hard work that Ben is putting in to make his family's home is amazing to watch. I'm sure Meg is so proud of him. This entire family is an inspiration to watch. Love how the boys are happy to chip in and help. The Hollar's know what's important in life-FAMILY. Great videos great family, always wish them the best.
This video gave me nightmares. It made me remember helping my friend restore a trailer for his daughter. Do yourself a favor and do away with all the black drain pipe and vents. It’s a headache. We came back with all pvc except for the water lines and we used pex on them. It gets interesting trying to find fittings for it.
I've learned over the years that when God "slows" me down its usually because I'm missing something or not seeing something that I need to do first, if he brings you to it he will bring you thru it. Much better idea to put the insulation in while the floor is up. When things start going harder than they need to be STOP and look around ask God "what am I missing?" Just a thought from an old lady that has walked in your shoes more than once. God Bless

Tamera Kosa a lot of TH-cam videos have been doing this. If you skip forward to the next suggested movie, and I then go back to this one, then skip forward about 10 seconds passed the part that freezes, you can watch the rest of the video. Hope this helps!
The other fixes didn’t work for me but two days later I restart the video and watch all the ads again and the video starts where it left off. 😐
Tamera Kosa I finally got to watch it. I think it’s the commercial that is hooked to the video as I had 3 that wouldn’t play. So I left them alone for a couple days now it’s a different ad and it played fine. I don’t know which ad it was though.

I did a lot of demolition back in my construction days which involved a lot of nasty insulation. To remove the itch we used vinegar in a bath tub. The guys used to call it a deuche bath. Hey, I did not care what they called it, it works.

Inspections: I taught at a high school that added on a big new fine arts wing. As always, there was a scramble to get things finished up for the first day of school. When the kids first came in most things were okay, but they found that the toilets didn't flush. Figuring debris had clogged the pipes they called in roto rooter who discovered that the building had never been tied in to the sewer. There was a four foot gap between the building and the sewers. Yet all the inspections had been passed.
What the shit...

Ben you are doing fantastic! We have done exactly what you are doing a few years ago on our triple wide 36 year old mh and it is a JOB. It was a bit spendy but nothing major but it sure as heck turned out great and as you are doing, we paid for it as we went along with our savings. Best part being when it's done it's all paid for, no mortgage to worry with and home free when it is complete in a new structure and YOU know what is where and how it is done with peace of mind! That's worth a fortune right there! Loving your ideas for work and etc. I think you are killing it and I am sure the boys enjoy helping and they are learning from you even tho right now they may not think so........they are good helpers and always so welcoming to assist you both. Love your family.......so kind and considerate! A day at a time and rest when you get tired, you do tend to push yourself but there's no rush ........you're home, you've got what you need, the family is there, you have a roof over head now as you do the work and when you're done it's going to be free and clear..........how many ppl can say that? It's awesome, totally awesome. Enjoy, dream and make your dreams come to fruition. There will always be work and you enjoy working I can tell....especially in your fabrication and the land you look so calm and relaxed in it. It is a blessing to work the work you enjoy and feel accomplished. It is a blessing. Ok, enough from this mom and grandma! LOL
PS: If you rub corn meal freely on your arms, legs,neck, back, face ........anywhere the insulation can filter thru to get on your skin it will form a barrier and I think you will be better for it. Then undershirt and dress as usual. I had to do that for my hubby when he was working with insulation and it worked so well......that stuff is so fine it gets into your skin and drives a person nutty at times.........just sharing that as we've been there and done that.

Ben, your doing it right. Get at what you can, while you can get at it. It makes a project take a little longer to finish but the reward is the project will be better all around and last longer in the end. Real smart to take out that old insulation. All the dirt and dust it caught wasn't worth the trouble of getting out to save it. Your front cement block steps look just like mine except yours are neater stacked cause yours are on flatter ground. Keep at it. Good Luck & God Bless

Wow, prep work takes ages. I bet you feel like you're making slow progress. But you'll be glad you did the prep thoroughly, like you're doing. It's not exciting, but it'll be worth it when it's all finished and you know how we'll done those floors are. Ain't no short-cuts on the Hollar's homestead.

Just keep pluggin'. I've remodeled every place I have owned and it never goes as quickly as we'd like, but the climb is half the fun in the end when you look back on it. Hard work, but gratifying. Remember, the only thing you have to be concerned with is the next step. Good job so far!

I've been repairing my fixer upper house and there are definitely those days when I dont feel motivated to start and my Dad put it great, he said "sometime you just have to start, wither your motivated or not." And some how that really helped me to just do it anyways, regardless.
