    Nokk doesn't need a "rework", as long as, 1. she can bypass prox alarms, 2. she can bypass banshees (would help lower melusi's pick rate as well). silent step would just be the cherry on top.

      Bypassing prox alarms makes no sense though. Her gadget is an optical effect, not a physical effect. Hence why other physical traps still work on her.

    I think Nokk should be a 3 speed, so she makes noise just not much of it and she’ll be fast. A stealthy operator doesn’t need much health, because they are meant to sneak past defenders and get into a good place to do the objectives

    I think what people don’t like about this so called “tdm meta” is because say you’re not a full stack or a team that’s fairly new to siege, they expect you to set up site in less than a minute? I’ve played plenty of games with a full five stack and I would be 20 seconds into the round and still setting up while the attacking ash main would be in sight instantly getting a free kill.
    Side note: for people that are going to say “skill issue” “you’re just not efficient enough” tell me how a team of castle, frost, mira, mute, and a valk suppose to set up an entire site and get their gadgets down before a competent 5 stack rushes in and gets freebies. In my opinion they should give the defenders alittle extra time to set up… not to mention the attacking team can drone sight and re pick operators for easy wins!!

      Almost all maps are defender sided and it’s much easier to win fights as a defender, especially when you get rid of drones and have traps and other utility for sound cues.

      @@rayde8393it’s still annoying when attackers are instantly on site and your still setting up. It doesn’t matter that there’s sound cues, if your not set up you are going to get caught off guard and die.

    a jammer cannot jamm another jammer, because it's getting jammed, if a jammer doesnt work, it cannot jamm the other jammer, so either the drone will stop the jammer, or the jammer the drone

    'Most gadget heavy meta I've seen'....The insane utility we had a few years back was a lot more prevalent and in your face.
    Gadgets are used nowadays but even then, most gadgets have been dumbed down and are a shell of the strength they used to have.

      @@user-nc2pn8kf3kDo you really want to play against old melusi?Maestro evil eye is not as strong as it used to be but its is still very strong and he now has three. Mira nerf is apparent but if you have a wamai or jager they are hard to take out because ash doesn’t have stuns anymore. And old Goyo was either too strong or too weak and his denial ability nowadays is very strong. That’s not me saying they are too strong , I am saying they are relatively at an okay position. Maybe they can be buffed a bit more but overall they are at a good place

      I’m not vying for that but it’s the truth. You’d have to readjust some stuff but the game would be fine.

    For Nokk I think they need to give her either Silent Step or Immunity to electronic traps(Kapkan's, but not Frost's for example, I would also include not setting off prox alarms)

      What if instead of jamming it’d “disable” it as if the camera was shot out and then the camera would reappear after she leaves the vicinity.

They also cant make the "jammer or camera disable funtion" to big of a radius otherwise it will be op. Tho i do think it will be a funny counter to doki

      @@vermi9162the thing is with vigil the visual overlay is to balance him because the attackers are more reliant on intel to look around the map so if he didn’t have it he would be broken nokk doesn’t have one and she had the silent step to make her actually viable when getting into the map

    I’d love for Lion to get a proper Elite skin like other ops have, one that might resemble an old French military uniform. But my idea for a crossover elite would be Arno Dorian from Assassin’s Creed Unity because his Eagle vision in game highlights enemies, and there was a multiplayer aspect that allowed friends to see it too. It’s a perfect opportunity

    I think a cool buff for sledge would be to let him open reinforced hatches, since on the bottom on his hammer he has a lever/crowbar . This would come with the price of a chunk of his durability for example 10 out of 25. This would make him better to play vertical , as ram outclasses him. And this way he is more viable when compared to his competition , buck. As sledge can play vertical better, but is worse as an entry. Naturally if there is a kaid this would stop him from doing so.

      This is the first time I have seen someone incorporate his durability, great idea.
      Sledge is slowly being power crept, but he is still good imo.
      They should test this on the test server, I would love to mess with it.

    Buff idea for Echo.
    Cloaking returns on his drone but only activate when he's not using them if you control one he becomes visible the other not.

    I think what people mean by 'TDM Meta' at the 6:11 section is that more rounds end by rushing in and less droning and strategical play than not. Most rounds end in 30 seconds - 1:30 than by going to force plant. This doesn't mean people don't drone and people don't play strategically, it just means there's less of that than in any other meta, which is what makes it so TDM heavy. Running & Gunning is stronger than ever because of things like the horizontal grip on guns like the AK-12 or AK-74M with little or very manageable recoil.

    Thank you for the tdm meta comment I play with so many people complaining about it when I’m reality it’s mostly their fault for not reinforcing or not watching flank routes like I can understand getting frustrated when all the attackers die before making it into the building but jeez people love to point fingers and blame

    I really like your mute drone idea. I wish siege had more complex interactions between operator abilities instead of one gadget having one use. Fuze+osa is a good example of something thats complicated enough to be interesting, but simple enough that anybody could understand the mechanics.

    Do you think that Map ban should be taken out of siege? I think they should remove it so you’re not having to play the same maps all the time and it forces people to learn the maps like back in the early days of siege. It forces people to come up with strats that can help people protect and attack said site. It would also help the lesser known maps get playtime like Lair, Stadiums, Emerald Plains, and Favela. I get tired of always playing Oregan, Club House, and Cafe every single match.

      they should change maps more, since I started playing literally half a decade ago like half of the maps have yet to get a rework and while it's understandable for some maps, for some it doesn't make sense and the fact that they added like 5 maps in this time is just funny

    i always wonder why oryx and nokk aren't 3 speeds.
    they've been removing 3 speeds from the game for a while now but for these 2 it just makes sense.
    for nokk it would give her strafe speed for walking around the map and in gunfights, would reduce her noise slightly and on top of that would make her squishier and therefore easier to punish if she is caught lacking. even if she had to lose her nades for this id take it in a heartbeat.
    for oryx it just makes sense as a roamer and would be an excuse for them to make his hatch climbing quieter. not like his secondary gadgets are particularly strong either. though with less hp his gadget becomes more punishing to use.

      must be placebo because i always feel like i get hit way less during a fight as a 3 speed compared to a 1 speed where i get beamed.
      hmm. i think it would stil be beneficial for the speed outside of a direct gunfight as well as the reduced noise. you can also reposition during a fight using these.

    I want zero’s custom 5.7USG to give him silent step when he’s actively using it. This way you have to drop utility clear to sneak around and it leans into the whole silent ninja splinter cell. Maybe they could give it to nokk as a way to reintroduce it silent step to her. Thoughts?

      This sounds like a great change, but Zero is perfectly balanced atm. Maybe if he dropped in performance, then this could be considered.

      @@EmiWi I don’t think zero has ever been perfectly balanced. It gets down to a couple of things. One is that his cameras are extremely buggy. I have had a zero cam bounce off of a window pane. The other is audio. They’re so loud that you can hear them be fired out through the ceiling without any vertical holes.

      @@aRorschachTest Those are true, but the first is more the matter of being a bug rather than his performance. And secondly, he is a 3 speed with a really good gun and good secondary gadgets. Though I agree he does need to be quieter when shooting Argus cams since they are not stealthy enough.

    Here’s a glaz rework concept I thought about in May of 2021. It’s a miracle I still have it on my phone. Low key it may not have aged super well but I think it’s worth a look.
    I have a glaz rework concept that I’d like other opinions on and I think this may be slightly overpowered but could have some game changing effects coming from him. My concept is Glaz keeps his current flip up sight with the same ability of seeing heat. The change made however could be similar to a cod fmj rounds of having a mag of 7 bullets with armor piercing rounds that he can load into his gun when chosen. For control mapping I think the flip up sight should be moved to the select fire button for his sight and have his ability button be the armor piercing rounds or the other way round bc glaz can select his fire rate as he has a dmr. The bullets to add to his kit can shoot through castle barricades like he used to be able to do with an addition of shooting through reinforced walls and bullet proof shields. I think he could become very versatile and pairing with an IQ to destroy bandit batteries and other things. I think the armor piercing bullets should also effect damage with a 20hp damage added with each shot or something else. And a severe damage drop off if he is shooting through walls that have been reinforced and castle barricades aswell as shields. I think that like I said it would be a significant buff to him and almost be game breaking but I would like any thoughts

      Thats op like crazy you know how many people shoot at walls for kills just by sound cue XD maybe mini explosive ammo clip like 3 shoots can destroy shields or castle or other gadgets

    I can't think of any other creator I'd want to keep that classic Mat legacy , your opinions are centered and objective, plus you regularly bring out fun concepts to the conversation.

She was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, and Ubisoft only releases an operator not born in their representing country if there is another born in and representing that country. Examples include Vigil being from North Korea but Dokkaebi being born in Seoul, and Alibi being born in Libya but Maestro being born in Rome. Ubisoft just doesn’t have the balls to not represent a country fully.

    I'm sorry but i could not disagree more with your td meta point, outside of the fact that, yes, magnifying scopes don't affect it at all. First of all, there really shouldn't be ONE way to play siege properly; siege is a game based on mechanic diversity and clever thinking, so the whole idea of you play it one way or you play it wrong is just not compatible with siege. But more importantly, outside of North-America server it's just impossible to properly comunicate with your team consistently. It's not like it's unfair to people that dont know enough people to play siege with, it's actually just impossible to pretend that everyone can either know the people they play with or be able to communicate properly with strangers with varying degree of skill and knowledge. Bear in mind that in most cases solo-queueing is not really a choice, but a necessity. Everyone understands that communicating is very helpful and if you lose because enemies did and you didn't that's on you, but saying that you HAVE TO or you are not playing siege properly, it 's not viable, not for siege, not for any game in general.
    Regarding the td specifically, even with coordination there are just sometimes where the matchmaking is unbalanced enough to put you with people that can actually do whatever they want. If traps were enough to guarantee a perfect blockade from every direction than we would be in a trap meta, which would be another problem entirely. I understand that you don't see td as a problem, but even wrong criticism come from some place of truth, and if the majority of players feels that there is a problem in a certain strat than there is a problem somewhere.

      Unfortunately tho the game evolved to be a "play this way" rather than players being able to come up with creative solutions.
      hear me out:
      You can no longer hide in dark shades (night maps or realistic lighting). Like under desks.
      You can no longer hide on top of fridges or furniture.
      You can no longer hide in dead bodies or pretend to be one.
      You cannot break objects to cause debris (which make sound) when people step on them. Instead, we have a loud beeping device...
      You can no longer make murder holes (bullet holes). This was great to prevent the CoD players to rush in as they wouldn't see the little hole down the hallway before you kill them.
      You cannot throw grenades back, cook them or really be creative with them.
      Most of everything now is very carefully controlled and "balanced". I use to play like a snake back in the early days because I was pure trash at aiming, but I got around just fine without understanding what was going on. Whenever I try to play now the maps are so sterile and the gameplay feels like a mix of R6S & valorant or CS2.
      Every outcome is predictable and it just plays out the same way. The only way it plays differently is if your hit regs before theirs. Or if someone uses some new BS gadget.

      Yes the meta is completely different from year 1. Ppl would literally tk you if you didn't pick the right gadget. Now it is viable to pick nothing but rushers and COD drop shot everyone

    Yeah having a mute jammer radius on Nokk would make her either the best or worst op in the game. The radius needed to effectively mute a camera would make her too oppressive. Or the radius would be too small and basically make her more useless than she already is. There are plenty of cameras with extremely long lines of sight so she’d need a rather large jammer radius otherwise she’d be useless.

    I dislike your idea of the nokk rework. I think her being able to cloak herself and still allow the camera to be used is a strong, defining feature because it lures defenders into a false sense of security. Take vigil for instance, when you see those little bars at the bottom of the screen, you may not know exactly where he is, but you’ll still be inclined to look towards where you’ve seen the indicator. I think a better buff to nokk would be to give her a radius around herself, maybe 5 meters, that cloaks all, or some set number of teammates around her. With this buff, I think that giving her quieter footsteps would be too powerful, but I do think that she should most definitely be made into a 3 speed operator to make her quieter and more nimble.

    I personally want to see a new engine for siege. We have so many engines that look good yet we have had the same one for such a long time now

      That's true. But I also feel the need to say that the engine itself is very much capable of delivering beautiful graphics.
      Artists have shown they are well equipped to make realistic lighting and atmospheric maps. They can also have cool visual effects, the smoke currently make it look very simple and dumb like older Counter strike, but in reality it can be a lot more beautiful overall.
      The only reason it's not, is because people complained about visibility, this is why the game looks like it does now. It looks like crap, because it's flat and makes the low res textures pop out even more.
      Tech wise tho, considering Alibi's holograms weren't able to mimic the player's cosmetics due to "engine limits" is quite bad. But I think it's BS from the devs because the other girl on attack was perfectly fine apparently.

      The devs said they aren't limited by the current engine (anvil 2 or something like that)

      Imagine dynamic lights where you can shoot the lights out or see the shadows projected onto walls? Smoke grenades gradually filling the room realistically (just generally better looking effects).

    I feel nokk needs to get her silent step, 30s is fantastic, but with silent step, it will be too op so reduce the ability usage time to 12-20s and make her counter more Operators like Melusi, Ela, Thorn, Fenrir you know just some of them only if she doesn't get her silent step back. If she does, let just counter Alibi like she always used to do

    The stuff you said about a Siege 2 is spot-on, especially the part where you mentioned it was a best-case scenario should they make it work. I also agreed with the comparison you made with Overwatch, that it just sucks as a game and the developers just absolutely didn't do it justice and messed-up every step of the way. There's no way that Overwatch 2 can be used as a basis for why Siege 2 can't succeed, and instead they can even look at its failure and learn from it.

    The Nokk idea is interesting but how would it work would it be like a mute hammer with a radius or kind of a hit scan shut off and also if it were to fully shut down the cam it would kill the stealth aspect of her because you didn’t hear a gunshot thatcher nade or impact EMP so it it were to fully shut off without a sound Q like that you would know a Nokk is in that area it’s not very stealthy if you give away your area when you use your ability

    5:55 Mostly on console that’s where you’re wrong about the tdm meta. Fake entry fraggers purposely takes the defuser to try to be first place in the leaderboard, forcing the team to match their pace, even holding the rank match hostage in the process. I played with fake Ace mains who are always the first to lose before ever throwing his gadget, not even spawning near the outer objective reinforcements to take advantage of Kali / Thatcher and goes straight into the building. And when the team is losing they don’t give advices nor make decent call outs but instead picks on underperforming players for not choosing “ the best guns / the best operators in the game,” using the leaderboard as a scapegoat to pathetically cover their own mistakes. The only language they can spout is “get a k!” That just goes to show that even when Siege changes the toxic tdm mindset still remains.

      This was a way better wording of my question, and it's crazy you mention console since it's what I play on and where I was coming from. And with the "not choosing the best operator/weapons" is what drove me to ask in the first place. Like why wasn't Melusi being used as often as she does now prior her getting an ACOG? Her gadget hasn't been buffed or anything, same with Wamai, Goyo, Doc, even Azami technically. My mind immediately went to TDM meta as a scapegoat when making my initial coment. Just wanted to clear that up.

In my opinion, the idea of players soley relying on using few of their main operators just to feel more comfortable controlling their recoil patterns is a crutch. It doesn't expand creativity and it only just makes them more predictable to counter which was ultimately one of the reasons why the game was easily defender sided, it's because attackers aren't using their brains to win.
      I choose to play attackers base off taking advantage of attacker repick and what is missing in the attackers' team composition. I also choose to play operators who are underrated or underperforming on the graph to challenge myself, to becoming something more than just a basic support-style player, and to prove to the toxic console Siege community wrong about their ideas of winning. Tdm style does not have to be the "only way to win." There are unique winning conditions, flavors that has yet to be explored. After endless trials and errors, when I was starting to "do the impossible" more times than I thought it felt so rewarding that it helped me create clips, showcasing tactics / winning conditions that players haven't yet nor aren't willing to perform.
      It's such a shame that I can no longer act like an IGL, asking console players to pick key operators that can defeat the enemy team, not knowing if my voice will cause my teammates to jeopardize our ranks by tk-ing again. And yet they're such hypocrites for telling me which operators I can't play or how I should be playing Siege.

    I don't really want the bulletproof meta to be back or anything, but I think the reason why siege today is called a TDM meta is because most of the traps you use are for gunfights, like doc's heals or ela/lesion/fenrir/melusi/thorn's traps

    A cool idea for the attacker mute would be like flores with the drone being able to move around and just be a drone but once you activate it, it will shut down and just be there to disable anything in it's radius, and it can be activated to be a drone again. But it can be shot and destroyed either way encouraging you to have proper drone placement and to know how to conceal it. And it would have a radius where it can disable like mute

    That Overwatch take was stupid.
    Overwatch was not a shit game, it has been ever since overwatch 2 came out but the original overwatch was one of the best fps games ever made, leagues above games such as siege and csgo.
    Even if you didnt like the core gameplay aspect of respawning or whatever, you cant deny that everything was done better than siege. Way better anti cheat, a much more balanced damage system, and no match was the same. There are very few reasons why siege would be considered better.

    I think it should be that she does have silent step, but she is completely wiped from cameras with no effect, and be immune to any gadgets the long time players want, but it all only lasts for 3-5 seconds, making it like a more potent Vigil on attack.

    If they did a siege 2, here’s how I would approach it:
    1) Start by recoding the game from the ground up. That’s what makes the situation the most complicated, but that will solve SO many bug, cheating, and dev problems (the current devs don’t understand the old siege code)
    2) Refocus the UI. Siege has showed when they redo the UI in a new way it can make the game feel new.
    3) Tune up operators, a LOT. Hell, I would even go so far to say you could do Blackbeard, Sens, Tachanka, and other various reworks all at once, to make the game feel properly new.
    I do hope that the devs are working on a siege 2, as the reason for their trashy updates right now, but I also wish they would just admit that to us. I don’t want to reason for this awful new season to be “Lol we felt lazy and want to punish our dev team”

      I guess I'm just not the target audience no more, but old UI was perfectly fine. Each new iteration felt more intrusive than the last. Personally I think minimising the amount of on screen stuff would be a most. Also not making the interface so vibrant and saturated would help plenty.
      They just need to get rid of half the gadgets... There's so many that just feel like a better version of another or it's the same thing but used differently.
      Maps shouldn't be the big mazes they've become and the gunplay should be prioritized.
      More environment should be interactable or breakable. The Italian's shotgun used to be able to bring walls down and so you could basically "rework" the site.
      Things like "half reinforced walls" should be a thing, where you can stop the animation midway through.
      We need realistic lighting and night maps back.
      overall they should try to focus on the realism. SWAT-like operation with mildly futuristic yet believable tools. Stuff like Sens' gadget should not be in here, it can freely go to XDefiant tho.
      But then again, I'm not the target audience and the OG devs that came up with Siege's idea are a dead breed. So now we'll let R6S2 (if it's a thing), be just like every other hero shooter. Because that's how skins are sold.

    I have an attacker operator idea. it may be too complicated but I definitely think someone with basically a portable ads system that destroys gadgets would be good. when you activate, up to 2 gadgets can be destroyed automatically by the device but you don't get to choose which one.

    I would do another small nerf to Fenrir, where the gadget would affect you fully only when you stay long enough in it. That is the the current time to get full blindness, so like 2-3 seconds. So, for example, you know where the gadget is. Now you peak for half a second, shoot it and you still get full blindness and then until it fades away. After this slight nerf, you would get blindness only for the time you were exposed to the gadget (so that half a second) and until it fades away (also shorter, because you weren't fully blinded).

    With the last few years of Ubi using a new game engine (snowdrop) for games like extraction and XDefiant, could it be possible to relaunch Seige with that game engine?
    On the subject of reworks, and how perfectly Fenrir's was implimented, i want to suggest bringing "underutilised" or "underperforming" ops to light. Who do you think needs some "love"

    Do you think ubi should add an in game feature that helps solo queue players find a decent 5 stack? I know there are third party services for this such as looking for group on Xbox, but these almost never work because they aren’t designed for a game like siege.
    Btw, I love that you’re doing this style of content, I used to watch Matimi0’s Sunday/Monday mailbox videos every week, and I’ve missed it since.

      It would be nice for the few that would prefer it, but the cost of implementing it outweighs the benefits.

    Stealth as an attacker is already difficult. Given the amount of utility, and the default state of the map; you're bound to be noticed at some point unless you play at a snails' pace. A silent step ability is so simple and ALREADY present in CAV who honestly makes it stronger given the defender advantages.

    Compromise for Nokk. She does not get silent step fully back, instead silent step only on cameras. So it makes her the sneaky, camera dodging operator she is meant to be but doesn’t allow her to just walk into areas of the map with almost zero sound cue (only sound cue would be turning on HEL). Because one of the biggest problems with nokk is that if you turn on HEL and then walk under cameras they can still hear you underneath it and basically know your location anyway.

    We ARE in a TDM Meta, it is just not being described well by the Community. The TDM Meta we have is very Meta based in a sense because for awhile now Ubisoft has been doing the same rinse and repeat Meta which is taking away a certain Operator's MAG Scope but then give it to 3+ more who have magnificent guns already to make them overpowered. If you look at the guns that have been receiving or already have MAG Scopes you will see most of them meet this criteria; high fire rate and low recoil. Ubisoft needs to set a new Standard, follow through with that, and never change it in the future to keep the game balanced where certain Ops pick rates aren't completely above avg. The Standard should be based on an AVG. Fire Rate is arguably the strongest value to R6 for the speed of dmg output and registering headshots quickest. Fire Rates range from Single Fire Guns such as DMR's and Slug SG's with 1 Fire Rate to 1200 Fire Rate being the Vector. The AVG Fire Rate would be somewhere in the 600's Fire Rate, so by being generous Ubisoft could allow 690 Fire Rate and lower to have MAG Scopes. Primary Guns should be the only weapons allowed to have MAG Scopes as an Option. With this suggestion you will see more team play based and a variety of different Operator Line Ups.

    i want year 10 to be the year they release like 10 ops in one season in replacement for the incredibly lackluster seasons we've gotten for the past 2 years and i want them to be game redefining like azami was when she came out or how the teamwork and synergies between them that allow there abilities to thrive.
    but honestly id be happy if they didnt do that and just gave us a good anti cheat or changed the nerf culture into buff culture (make things better suited to deal with things that are powerful) so that there are other options to deal with other ops

    One thing with a siege 2 is that everything would go back to a beta/early game state. Look at CS2 and it having to build itself back up from the ground up (just because of it being on a new engine). A new version of the game would need a few years if not more to get to the same state as the game is now.

    if siege 2 happens, they'll sadly probably make the game a subscription instead of a one time buy, similar to WOW subscriptions to play the game. At least that's what ubisoft claimed months ago, but idk if that's still the direction they're going. They still have the siege subscription for skins and battle pass but that subscription isn't good right now.

    Nokk was so well balanced, I really dont understand. She was not over picked or banned, the silent step was easily countered that it was asked to be buffed and counter proxys, banshees, kapkans,etc. It was a cav on attack, cant understand why they nerfed it.

      She was strong in pro metas.
      I agree with their decision because what the pros do now is what everyone else does 2 years later.

    How do you counteract diamond level strategy with copper level gameplay. My 5 stack will struggle sometimes. We're just getting into bronze despite some of us averaging 7 kills a game

    I agree with you about the TDM meta. However, I disagree that Siege is the most gadget heavy it has ever been. I think the Utility meta/ "10 second meta" takes the cake there. At it's peak when Melusi released and had bulletproof wubs, deployable shields stacked with Jager ADS, required so much more from the attackers in the form of utility.
