- We finished the Toyota Land Cruiser BJ73 and decided to install a 2H 4.0 Toyota diesel engine with a aftermarket Kinugawa CT26 Turbo Charger.
The original Italian VM motor was underpowered.
First we refreshed the engine and added new components like waterpump, thermostate, starter etc.
For this we also used the original 12h-t exhaust manifold and intake pipe that connects the turbo to the intake manifold.

Hi, have you tried with vgs turbo? I have try my mazda wl84 with rhv4 vgs turbo, run at 21psi. So good compare to conventional waste gate turbo

Hello Houman, nou need a turbo 12ht exhaust manifold. And you need a boost and egt meter to adjust the engine.

Wiegman 4x4 ......wish you were here in Western Australia......I’ve got a 1986 BJ74 , Auto with 13BT diesel.....love the motor but would like more grunt possibly a 12HT OR 1HDT ?
The 12h-t would be the best option for you. That is a perfect swap.

@@Wiegman4x4Terschelling I have a BJ40 with a 3B is a great engine over 2milliones KMS running like a new and no electronics!! I love my Toyota I think all 6cilinders from Toyota are a powerful and fiable engines!!
