Man, not gonna lie, the decade of the '80s to me by far the best to live in. Toys, cartoon, movies, shows, economy all time high, music scene and its culture just phenomenal and memorable! Here's to 80s Life in 2025 with more memorable '80s content and also filming location!
Incredible list. I remember me and my friends roller skating to 80% of those songs at Northridge Skateland (R.I.P.) in 1984. I was 16 years old. Forever cherished memories.
I moved to the Valley in 1984 for work. Got my first apartment in Canoga Park. Most every song brings back great memories. By far the best year for songs, ever. Thanks for a great 2024.
I was 7 in 1984 - these forgotten songs brought back memories. They don’t make music like this anymore. And I agree - time flies the older I get. Time is a thief.
Happy New Year! Why does it make me soo emotional thinking back to the time of these songs? 😢 1984 I was just 12 yrs old! I had 2 teenage older sister and a teen babysitter once in awhile..So naturally they played music all day long and I always wanted to be like them and sing along all these songs..1984 really was full of non stop bangers that are still good today! So now that I’m an ancient elderly person lol I wanna get in a time machine and go back! But instead of being a kid I’d love to be 18 and go dancing in a club, rollerskate in a roller rink and visit Miami and party! Wait where are the B-52s??? They had some cool music come on!
You are absolutely right. I was 15 and 16 back in 1984 and I definitely noticed just how awesome music was that year. First real girlfriend, breakup, but then awesome summer. Lots of emotion, and wonderful music to accompany it. Thanks for posting this!
Thank you so much for this. LOVE your channel and this video reminded me of some forgotten and truly awesome gems from the soundtrack of my life growing up in the 80's!
1984, I came off my first tour from Korea and was station at Fort Riley with the Army!!!! Still seems like yesterday! Yes, very awesome year for music!
Loving it, I was just over 6 years old at this time in 1984 and I knew a disturbing amount of the songs especially as the Billboard and the UK chart always vary a little. Now 1984 is about to be my New Years soundtrack, have a great 2025 Curt and family. Love from Blackpool, UK.
Right in the middle of the three best years of music ever...83/84/85. And it also gives me pause to think of those artists on this list that are sadly no longer with us...MJ, Prince, Laura Brannigan, Tina Turner, Olivia Newton John, Irene Cara, etc. Thank you for all the wonderful music.
It seems like time flies by when we get older because we process fewer new information than when we were younger, thus giving the perception that time goes by quickly. We kind of enter a routine where days seems to blend together, we do more or less the same things.
I've also heard the theory that it could be the perspective of time as well. At 5 years old, a year is a 1/5 of your life, while at 30, it's 1/30 of your life, and so on.
I don't know how you do it without getting a copyright hit. I get flagged when I upload a video with a sliver of music. Great video. It brought back great memories of where I was and what I was doing when I heard some of these for the first time. 1984 was such a fantastic year. MTV was in its prime, introducing us to the latest music videos and shaping pop culture. Rock 'n' Wrestling was just starting to blossom, combining music, wrestling, and entertainment into something unforgettable. Every song on this list feels like a time capsule, reminding me of all the moments that made that year special. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. You put a lot of love and effort into it. Videos like this keep those memories alive.
So many we’ve lost already - June Pointer, Laura Branigan, James Ingram, Ric Ocasek, Benjamin Orr, Irene Cara, Kenny Rogers, Dan Hartman, Eddie Van Halen, Olivia Newton John, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Prince…RIP
It's crazy that the title track to the biggest album of all time was almost a throwaway. The record label didn't even want to release it as a single, but then Michael Jackson watched An American Werewolf in London and decided that he wanted to turn into a werewolf, so an album that was released in 1982 spent 15 weeks at #1 in 1984. BTW, the Thriller music video was filmed in Los Angeles, just sayin'...
I was 10 years old and I was living in the hollywood/ft lauderdale area of Florida at that time and these songs ere huge down there back then especially Phil Collins' song In The Air Tonight and of course Miami Vice was huge down there since it was filmed 30 minutes from where I lived. Of course The Ghostbuster song was huge down there as well it was pretty much on repeat during halloween.
Hello, I lived through 1984, so I know what I experienced. This isn’t even close to the top 100 of that year. Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Wham dominated that year, and honestly, you were very blatant about it-because that year’s #1 was obviously Do They Know It’s Christmas?, the best-selling single ever.
Took me back to 1st grade...Mark Keppel Elemntary in Paramount,Ca. We moved up from SD. Still remember those times and MUSIC! Thank you and will see you in 2025! Be safe everyone
Right on! Yep, good music died pretty much by 1989. With only some heavy metal or hard rock songs that were good in the ‘90s. By the 2000s there was nothing “listenable” anymore, so that’s when l switched to country music…

NOTHING can touch 1980's music!
Incredible list. I remember me and my friends roller skating to 80% of those songs at Northridge Skateland (R.I.P.) in 1984. I was 16 years old. Forever cherished memories.
I was 14 in 1984 and i remember it well. It was the best year for music and movies. A year I will never forget.
That was an incredible list!
I moved to the Valley in 1984 for work. Got my first apartment in Canoga Park. Most every song brings back great memories. By far the best year for songs, ever. Thanks for a great 2024.
I was 13, great memories. It seems like I'm sitting watching MTV😊😊

That was fun! 1984 was great for music and movies! Happy new year
I remember ALL of them! 🙂I was 13-14 years old and glued to the radio and MTV.
I remember everyone of these songs. Thanks for putting this together.

Agree. I also think as we head into our 40s we have way more responsibility than in our 20s and 30s, and time flies when you're consumed.
The greatest decade ever...and it ain't even close!
Happy New YEAR 2025 🎉
Happy new year everyone!
Happy New Year from Argentina
I was 10 years old in 1984, I'd say I remember 97% of these
Great compilation! But hey…..3 x nr 1 for Wham! in 1984 in Europe + Band Aid! ❤️

Yes indeed, back when Madonna performed great music! Life was good, music was great and massive amounts of koKanIA!

Made in Italy.
Italo Disco's essential song.
1984...the peak year in the history of humanity
that video killed Billy Squires career lol 😸 I can remember every song and artist on that list
You know what, 40 years later I still wear sunglasses at night
The farther out in space the faster it expands . Same with us
Just goes to show, nothing in todays charts would have got a look in back then. I thought Thriller would have been far closer to the top though.
Does Anyone Have A Link To the Original Video For Break My Stride
The year to Jump!
Most of these songs were released in 1983 but charted in 84
I was born in September 16, 1984
They don't know about usssss
The only songs that matter to me are songs sung from Taylor swift and lady gaga from 1984
John Lennon must have been a remaster, or reissue?
