I am really really surprised with inner working of a song being recorded. Dozens of musicians cramped in several rooms. I can't believe LKP who has produced such gems over decades work like this, respect from Pakistan.
Laxmikant ji and Pyarelal ji’s speciality was their huge orchestra. They never charged producers for heavy orchestra. Pyarelal ji also told me in an interview that they wanted musicians shoudl earn and they distributed their fee with their musicians, even though same song could hv been done with 10-20 musicians as other music directors were doing at that time too.
Laxmikant Pyarelal are famous for huge orchestration and in particular use of Dholak and Tabla. Very happy to see the live recording. Really, the musicians work very hard and that too under not so comfortable recording rooms.
Thanks ever so much for this rare footage of the legendary Laxmi-Pyare duo with the leading Bengalee singer Runa Laila Ji. Those were the days when unparalleled music was created by musicians almost without any digital input. It is unfortunate that Laxmikant Ji passed away in 1998 but the music Laxmikant Ji and Pyarelal Ji composed has left indelible and ever-lasting marks on the memories of millions of fans worldwide. It is also pleasing to know they were great fans of probably the greatest music directors of the fifties and the sixties, Shankar-Jaikishan. Sometimes, it was quite difficult to differentiate between the music of SJ and LP. I’m not saying they copied SJ but LP were so good at it that their music was almost as good as SJ’s or perhaps, slightly better on a few occasions. We are also grateful that on many occasions LP chose Rafi Saab against the wishes of some producers and proved them wrong with Rafi Saab’s unparalleled performances with the songs they had composed🌹❤. I do not know if they used Suman Kalyanpur Ji who was just as good as Lata Ji.
Respect for your words. Laxmikant Pyarelal were way ahead in creating situational filmi songs. Other music directors of their competition were good at creating romantic and love songs but LP were amazingly extra talented. They knew the SCREEN MUSIC at the best.
Excellent, No words to say . This was how, all songs of singers in all languages ,from the beginning to upto the start age of multi track system introduced . After introduction of tracks, what the singers sings absolutely no quality . The songs are trained for 6 to 7 hours . 2 songs a day in Non AC full theatre. The above is absolutely TRUE while recording a song . 7 am to 1 pm. & 2pm to 9 pm ONLY
Today in this video, for the first time I have watched (and now watching) Runa laila maam's live recording a hindi song. I have had Listen to this song for uncountable times. But today watched this song recording video. Very very rare collection, thanks.

Nostalgic moments. I remember we used to bring Lehren VC on rent to play on the VCR [also on rent]. The sheer amount of hard work that went in making songs back then was so amazing. So many artists playing their respective instruments in sync. Highlight was the elderly Uncle doing ting ting ting 😀😀 Thank you so much for this wonderful upload. @ Rehman ne dhun accha pakda but digitalised music dene me chakkar me instruments ko hi saaf kara diya, in turn uska bahut bura asar pada hai. Aaj ji barbaad haal Hindi songs ka dekh rahe ho wo usi kaam ka advanced nateeja hai. Aur agar daur daur ki baat hoti to fir hum aaj bhi mohammad Rafi ke hi gaane nahi gaa rahe hote, aaj ke gaane gaate.
LP my favourite music directors in the entire world, it is so sad that Laxmikant passed away so young, miss music of that era , today it's just trash being produced, not the subcontinent Hindi Urdu words and music , that millions all over the globe love
