Snapmaker A250T / A350T Dual Duct Part Cooling Adapter and 4010 Fan Upgrade

  • The Snapmaker A250T and A350T are versatile machines with the ability to switch between 3D printing, machining, and laser tool heads. In Snapmaker's ambition to make a great all round machine, they seemed to have made some compromises in areas to keep the tool heads very compact.
If you are looking for my original review video, you can find that here:

The part cooling fan is slightly undersized for the potential throughput of the hotend. However, what is worse is that the single duct for the part cooling is poorly aimed and being a single sided duct - the output only reaches one side of your print. This often results in parts with one side properly cooled and the other side looking very messy and warped due to receiving NO cooling at all.
To solve this, I designed two upgrades. The first is a dual duct part cooling fan adapter that is a drop in replacement for the original. No modifications are necessary and everything fits in the original location.
With the new dual duct you will notice more uniform appearance of your 3D printed parts. Small details will be sharper and more precise as the plastic will cool faster and prevent warping. In some cases you will be able to slightly increase your print speeds as the new duct will more effectively cool your parts.
What it will not do: Since the original fan is still generally undersized you will not be able to drastically increase your print speeds. The fan is still small and if you would like to try and really increase your speeds I have the 4010 radial fan adapter also presented in this video. The purpose of this first modification is to increase the part quality at the existing print speeds.
The second modification is the 4010 radial fan adapters for those of you who are trying to increase your print speeds more significantly while maintaining part quality.
A regular 24V 4010 radial fan is used and will plug directly into the control PCB on the tool head. The connector is a common JST XH 2.5mm pitch connector.
All of the original hardware is reused with the exception of the requirement for four M2x8 pan head thread forming screws for the 4010 radial fan. If you purchase the kit from me, the hardware will be included.

I recently bought a used A350T that had a completely melted existing fan shroud from an extravagantly failed print. I was struggling for so long with getting any reasonable prints out of it. This video was super helpful! I printed the multi-duct adapter and now I can actually print in reasonable quality. I also just bought your 4010 adapter kit, excited to throw that in once it arrives. Seriously, thanks again!

Awesome video and part design! Love the improved cooling, the Snapmaker really needed this.
    Keep up the great work!

I've installed the Adapter on my A250 for half a year now and i can confidentely say that this thing is awesome. It elevates this mediocore machine to acceptable levels.

Cool design, just printed the available file and put it together. Will you sell the file for the 4010-Kit, because I already bought fans after I saw your video, only to find out afterwards that the full kit isn't available as STL.
The shipping to europe lifts the price to a number where I' rather design the missing parts by my own. Maybe you can calculate a good price for the STL of the full kit.

    good job!
I'm thinking about changing my artillery x1 for a snapmaker a350t, would it be worth it in the impressions department?

I printed and installed the ductwork, and my printed objects all seem to come out with a slight taper at the base since.

Hi, do you also have the STL for the 4010 adapter ? :)

Hey, sorry the multi duct parts I offer for free with the original part cooling fan, but the 4010 adapter is only found on my website for purchase as fully printed parts. Trying to pay for all of the design time and video editing time etc in some way. This video isn't really doing well and the TH-cam ad revenue just doesn't cut it sadly :/

So, is it worth picking one of these up? I got an X1c for printing fast, but I like the idea of having some usage of a laser etc. But I've heard so many brutal things about this and how bad the service is Idk if I want to take the chance.

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

If you have an X1 you'll never use the print head on this thing. So the next question becomes are you prepared to pay the full price if you're only using 2 of the 3 functions? And will you grow out of the capabilities? If you never see yourself doing anything more than small parts and you're strapped for space then maybe you can justify it. If you want to take on bigger parts, laser thicker materials, machine aluminum etc then skip it and get machines dedicated to those functions. It's a super cool machine and the quality feels amazing but it's kind of funny that by trying to be versatile I feel like they actually did the opposite and made it pretty niche

@@EmbraceMaking I understand that, but it's really not clear that you've made that distinction, and that you've decided to differentiate it that way. It feels a little 'bait and switch' to me, to be honest. I printed the dual adaptor, was coming back to find and print the other, and now I find out that it's not readily available, as the other one was; feels.... disingenuous.
I've downvoted this, and recommend other makers to not bother with this; there's other adaptors and plans for the snapmaker that you can print and use instead. (Search Printables for "cooling snapmaker 2.0" -- I've printed that, have the fan, and it seems to work well.
