  • YOOOOOOOO!! I've been wanting to see one of these machine rooms for a LONG time! These are Dover Composites and they are absolutely awesome. According to the mechanic with me, these are just considered composites, not Computamatics nor Traflomatics. Regardless, the machines are so cool to see and it's so intriguing to watch how these work. In this video, we get to see the cartop, the pit, and of course, the machine room! A huge thanks go to my elevator mechanic homie. The majority of my machine room videos were made possible by him! Many exciting machine rooms to come! Enjoy!

The "optical Pie plates" the answer to Otis' 6850 brush contacts. My now deceased and retired Dover buddies showed me these back when they were brand new in the mid 70s. Nice well kept machines. Quality Tennessee-made pride there!

Dude these things are awesome! I’ve never seen a Dover machine like this before! A mixture of both computer and relay logic, fascinating! The floor selector looks so interesting! These things are absolutely amazing! Awesome video! I simply cannot wait for more to come out!

Wow! I have never ever seen a machine room this unique! Can't wait for the premiere! By any chance was this the modded Otis manuals? Anyways, this is awesome!

What a great video dude!! I loved this. Showing the car top and pit were also sweet. Above everything else... LOOK AT ALL THAT DOVER BLUE... can you tell we share a favorite color?

Very cool! And I was not aware that Dover (or anyone besides US) was doing anything with proxys this early.

Very unique with the horizontal floor selector, while it is DC with the MG sets and relay controllers it does not look "really dated either" The installation is well done with the conduits.

That's amazing, what exactly is a Dover Composite?

Basically Dover’s base model traction elevator system (mainly found in low-rise cars)

@@Jowevator3219 And in another nutshell, this is basically the Otis Pie-Plate Selector in horizontal layout and painted blue.

From my understanding, the "Compute-a-matics had a slow down cam, very sim, ilar to Otis, then this optical system got rid of a lot of brush contacts for higher reliability. The first ones I saw were at Suburban Hospital in eastern Louisville. 3 car group featuring "IBM relays" in the group logic. 3 service cars and 2 visitors something like that like 6 stops
