Exactly. I stg that’s the one stat that experimental treatment keeps lowering. I literally counted the last 10 times I took experimental treatment and 9/10 times I got a fire rate down. The last time was neutral. Dmg down can be compensated over time, but fire rate down hurts my soul
it literally doesn't ignore the soy milk multiplier but it's also different from the other damage ups if stapler is your first damage up and you have a 1.0 damage multiplier it's going to give you 1.69 damage, if it's your second it's 1.26 but experimental treatment is always +1.00
It’s bad. You can argue that you get 4 stats ups and only 2 stats down, but those 2 stats down hurt far more than the 4 stats up, especially when you take them at base stats. For example, obviously, dmg and fire rate down are bad, but, if Isaac gets a range down vs a range up, a 4.5 range hurts far more than a 8.5 benefits. A 4.5 range genuinely hurts your run; an 8.5 range isn’t going to benefit you much more than a 6.5 range. Same with speed. A 1.2 speed is good, but a 0.8 speed is genuinely awful. I took small rock as base Isaac once, and when experimental treatment gave me an additional speed down, I had a 0.6 speed. It was genuinely awful when it’s impossible to avoid monstro jumping down on you, considering how easy this boss is if you have base speed. If we exaggerate the stats a little bit, I think it’s easy to understand why a 0.2 speed is far more detrimental than a 1.8 speed benefits. Same with how a 2.5 range is far more detrimental than a 10.5 range benefits.
Yeah... that's a no from me, I've picked up experimental on the past 5 runs and it has given me damage and tears down, or health and damage down nearly every time. And it always bumps shot speed in my experience, like my last tech x run, everything that could go wrong, did.
I feel most the hate came from before repentance where it's description was A COMPLETE LIE ("All stats up... then shuffled") and it could also decrease the same stat twice Nowadays it's okayyy i guess but I still avoid it because how fucking awful it was in the rebirth days
Remember having bad eden start and I picked this up and the start became even worse. 10/10 would pick up again
Vibes
I took experimental treatment as eden once and got 1.41 tear rate and literally 1.00 range. Never hated that trash cow like at that moment
It’s also the one item that won’t remove stats when dropped by Tainted Isaac
there’s a couple others i think , like i know consolation prize definitely doesn’t
@@Georgeg15 Oo maybe it’s those stat ups that don’t have specific upgrades
Never take it as keeper
Getting health down from it feels like playing Tainted Lost but with bad itens on top
Maybe if it didnt also decrease the tear cap :(

This is my favorite needle item I love the risk to it plus it can take away and give hearts
Not gonna lie every time I take my run gets ruined
I won’t take it except 2 conditions, if I have rock bottom or I am about to get the Spun!, otherwise it is risky.
Doesn’t lucky foot also negate the bad stats or am I misremembering
@@axonaxonaxonNo, it only works with pills
I think it's PHD that negates the bad effects@@axonaxonaxon
@@XizyMSM ah that may have been what I was thinking of then
Early into the run for me, but I also love the gamble in isaac
I’ll hate on the animated icon though, looks so goof
it’s actually like my favorite syringe item to get lol, gambler at heart ig
ALSO THE STATS ARE PERMA ON TAINTED ISAAC!!! I DONT SEE ENOUGH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS AND IM STARTING TO GENUINELY BELIEVE IVE DISCOVERED IT!
tbh i think its good as its very rare you’re gonna get the combo of both dmg and tears down most times you’ll get at least one of those stats up
It took 15 treatments to get the final clip
i never knew what spun did. will sacred sharts please bestow their knowledge onto me
Damage and speed up! And it drops a pill!
@@SacredsHearts sick will you hawk tuah and shit on that thang?
@@BurningMayonaisse no
@@SacredsHearts this was not a question.

i do not care what anyone says, as long as experimental treatment gives me either a damage, tears, or hp up then it's amazing in my book
i always take experimental treatment
Experimental treatment and the virus are my fav needles
Ive never hated that item because its literally a net positive every time
LETS GO GAMBLING
Tell Sinvicta that… I dare you.
If gambling was an item:
Took 1 of my hearts last time i used it smh
I always take experimental
the perfect way of gambling
I always take it. I can’t pass it up cause what if it’s good stats
I take it every time
It's objectively an amazing item and should be picked up every single time.
Its so good in rebirth! Trust!
I love the item except when it reduces my tear rate cap
yeah the spun also...
Lowers your health.
But still a good risk for some good stats.
Ok but... IT'S GAMBLING
Damage down, hp down every time
Let's go gambling!!!
I picked it up 1 time as judas and lost my 1 heart and died I had polythemus
Once I got only stat ups, so it’s pretty good. Just keep gambling
Most of the time it fucks u over tho
It's only good if the speed, tears, damage, range, and health down wouldn't ruin your run. Which is hard to know when it appears early.
I will become back my money

Plus rock bottom is op
Picking it up is just gambling with your stats and not your coins

People hate on it? Sure sometimes it's bad but it's a net gain if you can risk a bad roll
-daño y -lágrimas es el peor combo que te puede tocar lol
This thing has single handedly ruined 60% of the runs I had when I got this
Man I like this item but I learn do not pick this up with tainted keeper
i love gambling
Great item took down my range while i had ipecac,, run was rigged

*_given you have rock bottom_*

Remember kids, always gamble
This has ruined so many runs for me
Most of the time it ruins DPS. Pass
Hate speech
Its trash
I usually pick it up on my runs but its a mixed bag, definitely wouldnt call it bad though.
