Sold! I bought one. I'm going to look at your howto scope videos now hat I'm a scope owner! Thanks again for your channel. Nice to hear you are getting free stuff.
I feel sorry for you and indeed, although I would also like a decent scope, I believe you should get one first ! I'm 58 years, so I can wait a little longer... Go for it ! You have my support !
well.. I sacrificed a lot to have my first oscilloscope, right at the age of 43. * Previously I used an amplifier connected to a 90 ° rotated coil of a ctr TV and a multimeter at the same time. Greetings.
Of course, it is, because there is no real manufacturer as Hanmatek. Just a brand, made specifically for a german market, probably. Same chinese quality, just labelled differently.
I bought one some days ago, mine is Labloot is the same Hanmaek. Both are Owon clones. Hard to beat for the price. I notice that heat a lot, I make a square hole in the back and install a 12 volts fan, power supply is 5,5 volts only. I use a DC-DC converter.
Totally unrelated comment, but Holy crap, this video just got commented on by MrBeast. Honestly, you deserve it bro. I've been learning a lot from your channel. Hilarious coincidence is that your hands, demeanor and knowledge of electronics reminds me of my dad, so that probably why I've kept coming back XD haha
Given the multiple harmonics on the FFT... isn't it almost representing a square wave? The waveform looks very sine-ish, so maybe the FFT is more accurate. Am I reading that correctly? I would have assumed the FFT operation would use the same digital data as the waveform display, but if the FFT is more accurate, then maybe the FFT is processed in hardware or something?
My old hameg takes up way too much room, it's going and I've just ordered one of these, right angled power plug fixes the main gripe you have, I'm looking forward to using this, thanks.
I read Hantek so many times, I just realized that it's something else entirely. It's sad when not even they honor their own trademarks. But, NEW SCOPE!!!
Does it graph frequency? for ex. a time of 10 seconds across the screen measuring a fluctuating frequency 2Khz-10khz and the "picture on the screen would be a wavy line?
Is there a setting in it's menu to increase the size of the font? It's getting harder to read the math on screen! I'm currently looking at a USB oscilloscope on eBay that is listed at $120AU which looks promising, it's not the hantek but totally different in appearance, it has a silver metal case with blue plastic. The software looks better than what the hantek offers and even has FFT! For me, I can have it display on a bigger screen to make it easier to read.. Someone did a review on it but I can't remember who it was, I rushed out to eBay to check for availability and price... As it stands.... The Australian dollar is worth nothing at the moment so I'm going to wait till things improve around here.
I've been looking for a video like this that shows on an oscilloscope what a power supply really looks like at each stage and it's more sloppy then i expected. I'd love to see the various filtering stages of that amp you built. And better yet play around with inductors in an unregulated power supply. I won't be making a video but I might beat you to it. I'm in the market for an oscilloscope.
Can it do a snapshot? I am not sure how to explain it. I am just now getting into using oscilloscopes. But I am going to be using a photodiode connected to the oscilloscope to measure monitor pixel response. Essentially the photodiode will read the change from say full black to full white. And how long it takes for the pixels to stabilize. According to some articles I read, this is how they are tested. But the change will only happen once. It wont be constant. Will the oscilloscope be able to measure that change and then stop reading? kind'a like a snapshot?
Yeah I would have to make some modifications! #1 90 degree angle power cord running to the back. #2 cooling fan. That's just kind of stuff I like doing though! :-)
you're in Toronto like me I think...(or at least Canada) - and I'm looking for a starter O-scope and of course Amazon Canada doesnt carry this :( Still going to buy the Hantek DSO5102P from Banggood I think
Buddy! Can't you see that this oscilloscope has defects? 1.See the title! He has the letter "N" upside down 2. Look at the divider-probes. They're at 100MHz! And according to the rules, they must have a bandwidth 3-5 times greater than the bandwidth of the oscilloscope channel! 3. Turn on the sweep speed 1 or 5 or 10 seconds and watch. You will probably see that the timeline starts from the right side of the screen! While for all oscilloscopes, the time axis (baseline) should go from the left side of the screen to the right! If your sweep moves from left to right, you're in luck ... I was not lucky! The store sent me a malfunctioning oscilloscope with defects that I indicated to you. The letter in the title is inverted. Incorrect divider probes included with the oscilloscope. And the time line is not working properly. I think that's not all. I do not have the equipment to fully test the specifications of this oscilloscope. But I proceed from the fact that I see there a complete lack of verification of products by a quality inspection. Therefore, we can expect even such an inconceivable defect as an inverted letter in the name of the device on its face or an inverted line of the time axis ... Turn on the oscilloscope and look for surprises in it.

62 years old and never owned a decent scope. You should box this one up and make my day ! LOL Nice scope.

Thank you for the review, very helpful for someone thinking about getting their first oscilloscope, like myself
Thanks for your review. I bought it. Waiting for the delivery.
Really nice scope. Thanks for the FFT section. This one may work for low frequency RF work.
Stay healthy Paul.
You should know soon enough...
Man, you have a bunch of scopes :) Thumbs up for that!
I'm starting out. ¡Keep sending this guy free stuff to review! 😁
Keep safe dude. Ta for your expert tutorials.
Very helpful to view this great video. I just bought this same scope. I will enjoy getting to know it more. Thanks 😎
That looks like a nice little scope. I have an older HP 100 MHz analog scope, but it's a big boat anchor. lol
As far as I can see it’s OWON “lite” scope. Case, letter prints on the front , buttons, and the firmware too.
Yes...looks like the exact same scope
Of course, it is, because there is no real manufacturer as Hanmatek. Just a brand, made specifically for a german market, probably. Same chinese quality, just labelled differently.
Looks like OWON. Can you compare side by side and teardown as well?
Excellent review 🎉 Going to get one used and your info was very helpful. TY!
I bought one some days ago, mine is Labloot is the same Hanmaek.
Both are Owon clones.
Hard to beat for the price.
I notice that heat a lot, I make a square hole in the back and install a 12 volts fan, power supply is 5,5 volts only.

You could use a right angle adapter or a right angle power cord to reduce the width.

Is this made by owon? I mean I see it's hamntek but it looks like an owon in both buttons and menus
Is this the exact same unit as the OWON SDS1102? The hardware and software looks the same.
I believe it is
Also sold as the Mustool MDS2112P

No function/signal generator sir ?
You didn't take a look inside, probably the same as the OWON SDS 1102 you reviewed. Are these the same units but with different brand names?.
My old hameg takes up way too much room, it's going and I've just ordered one of these, right angled power plug fixes the main gripe you have, I'm looking forward to using this, thanks.
Rebadged OWON SDS1102, I like mine, but what is the point with the rebadging?
No idea
Thanks for the excellent review
I read Hantek so many times, I just realized that it's something else entirely. It's sad when not even they honor their own trademarks. But, NEW SCOPE!!!
Controls are nicely spaced for our fingers!
Looks very similar to the Owon SDS1102!
yep, is Owon sds1102 from Owon_lilliput rebranding.
Amazon link its gone and searching for Hanmatek oscilloscope gives no results?
Great review, thanks! You know you can buy a right angled plug for less than $10. Its just a plug and is not really part of the scope.
Does it graph frequency? for ex. a time of 10 seconds across the screen measuring a fluctuating frequency 2Khz-10khz and the "picture on the screen would be a wavy line?

Nice, but I love my Rigol 1054Z. Must be nice to have companies send you toys. Good Job.
Do you know the number of points on the FFT ?

I'll bet if you take this apart, it will look just like the Owon SDS1102 or the CDEK SDS1102X?
from lilliput.
Qual o melhor, owon ou hanmatek?
Can the trigger reference position be set to the left side or is it permanently stuck in the middle?
You can move it
But can it be moved in a way that it will stay in the same place on the left when the Time Base is changed?
Absence of the proper setting makes a DSO tedious to use.

That is what the trigger button is used for. You can have it trigger on a specific channel on a rising or falling edge at a specific level
@AndrewKiethBoggs i figured it out lmao. And ive been testing monitors since
Is it normal for a scope ths size not to have a 10MHz Sync?
Yes
Can you define "Gazinda"? Is that analogous to "Huevos"? 🖖
Nice little scope.
is the same Owon sds1102 , from lilliput.
Nice video !
Thats cool I got one too
3:32, that side is NOT naked, it clearly has a USB port right there.
On the left, can see it :)
Thanks
Who makes US built oscopes?
Clyde Denby my guess no one
@@markgreco1962 that should be seen as a problem.
Clyde Denby agree
Strange.. Looks like they tried to re-purpose the Hantek models or something.
Yeah I would have to make some modifications!
#1 90 degree angle power cord running to the back.
#2 cooling fan.
That's just kind of stuff I like doing though! :-)
It doesn't get that hit in use. Had mine on for several hours and it was fine.
Unavailable in the UK ☹️
Yes it is I purchased mine last week off Amazon arrived 6 days later its a cool oscilloscope I live in UK West Yorkshire
Tempting... I like the bigger screen, and the FFT display looks nice, but I think I'll stick with my Tek TDS2024. :-)
I hope that wasn't your son taking your car out for a spin! Haha, "Dads making another video, time to take the hot rod out!" :-)
Lol no
Thank you

Still going to buy the Hantek DSO5102P from Banggood I think
I have the Hantek DSO5102P. Its a great scope. I have had it for 2 years and does everything I need an oscilloscope to do. You won't be disappointed.
Toronto, Ohio, USA
@@learnelectronics ahhhh, thats awesome...I didn't realize their was another one. Thanks for the videos :)
Well Done
Hmmm... Perhaps there's an O-scope in my future. Thanks for the nice review!
A scope can answer a lot of questions - after it has made you question your sanity.
very nice indeed
Yeah that side power plug is really a pain.
Buddy!

Спасибо за обзор 👍
Name is too close to Hantek but not a Hantek. I can't buy it just for that reason lol
Its A Rebadged OWON
how does it compare with the Rigol DS1054Z?
Rigol blows it out of the water
Sounds like Hand me down OScope.
Sweet
Want to sell it?
AC plug is fail
trigger in is full fail
Made in China???
yep.
copy cat? look at the name. it sounds like Hantek
LOL, Now... no, Now.... now, please?
Please teardown 😁 😁 it sir
