Rema has a long way to go before putting him in the same class as Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido. Rema is popular due to one song Calm Down, which featured a very popular American artist Selena Gomez. The three biggest Afrobeats artists have earned where they are today through blood, sweat, tears and hardwork. Rema is an upcoming star. Wizkid is a Legend, been in music business since 2001, Davido 2009 and Burna Boy 2010. For people to put Rema above most who paved the way is crazy. Wizkid was the first African artist to introduce Afrobeats to the world. Burna Boy just blew up 3 yrs ago and selling out stadiums, which Wizkid was the first do it. No one is saying that he is burna or wiz kid. Rema is a 22 year old performing on the same stage as burna boy, wiz kid and Davido. That is a huge achievement at his age. I respectfully disagree. Calm down is one of his new songs that blew up. But He has had other songs before, so stop this saying he’s know only for calm down. That is simply not true. And at such a young age for doing what he’s doing is unique that only very few people get to witness at that age. The next closest star that did that at such a young age was who? WIZKID. That’s is a simple fact. And your right burna did blew up just a few years ago, but at what age? Of course Rema has room for growth thats the whole point.. he is performing on this stage… for someone who still has room to grow. And he did an amazing job with his stage presence. People have made fun of him and still keep putting this young guy down. Soon when he now leaves Nigeria and established himself in another place Nigerians will start saying he left his country. After they are the once who pushed him away. He is clearly showing that he can adapt to other genres of music and be extremely successful in his collaborations. Don’t forget he also collaborated with Chris Brown already even before Selena Gomez. He’s also under the guidance of don jazzy. He is not WIZ or BURNA he is REMA. Making music like never heard before coming out of Nigeria. That is what makes him unique.
