Ohhh no they're going to the burn pile. Send them to North Africa. So many of us gardeners would love to have crepe myrtles in our gardens

If the Lagerstroemia indica is capable of producing delphinidin in its flowers then it's theoretically possible to come up with a true blue Crape Myrtle. Look up the Himalayan Blue Poppy. That's true blue, not this lavender tone that's often times passed off as "blue". The Lingholm variety of the blue poppy seems very popular. These are the gold standard of true blue flowers.

Don't burn them , donate them . They are beautiful .

He does that because he doesn’t want competition. He collects seeds that he thinks are important and then burns the rest. He could donate them and all of a sudden on of those Myrtles begin to show signs of orange and then all of his years of testing within the DNA where just given away.
