Loved the video. This spring I’m starting a series of very big cache treasure hunts. I have this video planned for late August. I did over two months of research on the family and the real story of the robberies. I sincerely believe there is likely at the very least a small amount of treasure still buried in two locations. If I find anything I’ll be donating it to Seymour or whatever the folks down there think should get it! I try to remember to send you link when down. I have over 30 hunts scheduled for Indiana. So much great history here.
Thank you SO much! This is my most popular video so far. I agree with you, that there is still Reno Treasure hidden somewhere in Indiana. That would be fantastic if you could actually find at least some of it. Please be sure to send me a link when you upload your video. Wow, and 30 hunts for Indiana. I know that it is said that we have hidden treasure here, but I didn't know it was that many. I had planned on doing a video about that. But, it will be nothing compared to what it sounds like you have planned. Good luck with your hunt!
@@hoosierhistorylegendsheroe2039 I absolutely love your channel. Really the secret is “treasure hunting” is more history hunting. It starts with a love of history. I’m born raised Hoosier. Was lucky enough to be a good basketball player in the 90s and was my high school’s all time leading scorer for years and really developed a love for our rich history with basketball that grew as I got older into the state’s history with everything. For sure keep in touch. We could even collaborate. The way I am going to edit and present my videos in a way that focuses just as much on the history as the treasure so it would be nice to have a third party expert in Indiana history from time to time to reference their input or opinion.
It sounds like you had a great time in high school. Good for you! They really didn’t have much for girls sports when I was in high school, or at least the schools that I went to didn’t. I went to 2 different high schools. I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t watched your videos yet, but I’ve subscribed and plan to be watching them ASAP. I have always loved history and thought that most Hoosiers have no idea of what all of the history Indiana has given us. That’s why I decided to start my channel. I wanted to show that Indiana is a pretty neat state. Luckily my grandson was able to help me get my videos started. I don’t think I would have ever figured it out on my own. But I’m hoping to learn more and improve as I go along. Just to let you know, I worked with a woman who made the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame for Indiana. She was inducted several years ago. I plan on doing a video about her. She has agreed to let me do one. I’m so glad you love my channel. Thank you so much for watching. I’m really looking forward to watching yours. Take care.
@@hoosierhistorylegendsheroe2039 really most of what is on there now is on another treasure hunt so no worries. When I post new Indiana content I’ll give you a heads up!
That was very good ! I saw Rage at Dawn and googled the Reno Brothers and spoke with my brother about them. He knew a bit of their story and about hangman's crossing. Thanks and I will look at your other work as well. I'm in SW Michigan.... not a Hoosier. But Love History! Best wishes and Happy New Year !
The Reno Bros were something else. I had never heard of them before until I started looking into the first train robbery that was in Jackson County. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you enjoy my other videos. Obviously, I understand your love of history. Thanks and have a good 2024.
Thank you. My nephew helped me with them at first, but now I'm doing them on my own, hoping to improve as I go along. I've been updating the thumbnails to my videos. I still have a few more to do. Thanks again! HHLH
Indiana has alot of history that I didn't realize!! Its kind of too bad we don't do vigilante lynching these days..might be less trouble!! Thank you for interesting history!
You definitely have lived close to some Indiana history. The jail they were lynched in isn't there any longer, right? Has something else been built there, or is it an empty lot? It's been a while since I researched this story, and I don't remember off hand.
Back then, capital punishment by hanging for armed robbery was considered justice and necessary for deterrence and any other like form of aggression; C.P. then was absolutely necessary for survival, any business or commerce, or even civilization and life to happen in our territorial western frontier. What about today? What would happen if capital punishment for just the same type of armed robbery as the Renos pulled today were reintroduced for deterrence/public safety reasons? I think capital punishment is necessary and the American's banning capital and corporal punishments were thus mistakes, and we have now visible loss of most or all crime deterrence, legal and law cooperation since then, ALL things considered; as was the SCOTUS Heller decision allowing our country to become a national shooting gallery with almost daily mass massacres that were never like this in history; that specifically were limited to state-sanctioned police and military only in the 2nd Amendment. Their must be limitations to tolerance and freedom in free societies that both these mistakes in philosophy ignore. The Heller decision and banning capital punishment ARE mistakes we have learned the hardest way ALREADY. "Enough IS enough". The wrong persons are dying and being saved. Just stoppit.
Was brought up in Seymour where they were glorified and untrue story like the Blue Hole and the train that was forever lost in the quicksand.😂😂 World's first train robbery took place in England. The first in the U.S. was NOT in Indiana but on the East Coast and a 100 times the amount was stolen, close to half a million dollars. Then have train robbery in Ohio. I love a good story and treasure hunting like anyone. But ever hear of research??? I politely disagreed with our high esteemed local historian John M. Lewis about the white settlers in Jackson County and the Native Americans. Would never change his stance that whites were here first. Interesting reading is the old unsolved murders even up till current times. Not just in Seymour but Medora too. Lover of history AND local history!!!!! Just trying to set the record straight. Was a good rebroadcast of over repeated false story. I think Jackson County can do better and have better claim to fame than this. Have honest war heroes, former Gov., people who went on to professional sports. But we all like a good scandal. Recent stories of Brownstown jail, amount Seymour police have paid out in lawsuits over last 10yrs but kept hush. Reporters and public trying to access public records but blocked by authorities as best as possible. Another falsehood is The Battle of Tiptons Island. Look at local stories. Then read official state investigation of said battle.
Wow!! Who ever knew all this happened in Indiana! A wonderful watch!!!
Thank you!! 😊😊

😂😂 👍👍
They are buried 6 blocks from Me I live on 3 rd Street and they are buried at 9 th Street and State Road 11 in Seymour Indiana.
I actually went to the cemetery to take the pictures I used in the video.
And when I lived in New Albany Indiana they were hung right down the Street .
