    I find the smx and Steve morris hate on Facebook hilarious. What other engine builder is as straight and honest with their product...? It breaks, he shows you why, shows you how he fixes it, admits that 4500-5000hp is basically a fuse and be prepared to repair and ton of maintenance along the way. I'd go smx all day if I was drag and driving, you can count in Steve being upfront and honest if nothing else!

    • @gavinkeller183
      @gavinkeller183 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

      They also don’t realize his engine has the title for fastest drag and drive. And a lot of the racers on sick week have one of his engines

    • @CGT80
      @CGT80 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I mentioned the SMX in Mullet to my uncle one day as I was BSing with him at his shop. He has a trans and auto shop and builds Th400's for some of the top baha 1000 trucks, drag cars, tow vehicles and everything between. He used to drag race as well. He said something about the guy being pompous and a lot of people saying they got screwed and had failures with his engines.......probably based on facebook and other social media, which I don't do. I asked if he had watched his videos. My uncle also told me about the reoccurring issues with their big block nitrous car which sounds similar to the Charlie Brown car. Yeah, everyone breaks shit in racing, if they are pushing for faster times and not just bracket racing with more engine than needed, and even then, stuff wears out and fails. Of course, I told him to watch the videos. Crap happens, as Steve says, and his videos along with seeing the people who run his engines all paint a different story. An SMX is not for everyone either and a few may have had a bad experience with him, but no one is perfect either.

    • @guska5523
      @guska5523 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It's also a huge credit to the overall quality and design of the SMX that a dropped valve like that isn't a grenade. A lot of engines (or at least the head) would be scrap after a hit like that.

      He has a video from about a year ago that basically outlines cost of maintenance vs HP. He uses his wagon versus your moms Camry.

      I wholeheartedly agree. For example, Steve goes out and hurts it first day, cleeter went and ran his proline hemi at World Cup, hurt it first or second day on a brand new engine. Yet people hate of Steve for pioneering and perfecting his niche in the high hp drag and drive part of racing. Everything breaks at 3000+ hp, it just a matter of what and when. Yet folks with no experience in engine what so ever, and couldn’t afford an smx in their wildest dreams, want to dump on Steve. Steve is a stand up, 100% honest and transparent engine builder. That alone would make me want to buy an engine from him
