- Britains Got Talent Semi Final - Paul Potts, the new Opera Star, sings Time To Say Goodbye / Con Te Partiro in the Britains Got Talent semi-final 14 June ... and wins the public vote.
Paul Potts Semi-Final line up was:
Caroline Boyes - the break dancer in the Madonnaesque basque
Damon Scott - the man with the Michael Jackson miming monkey
Dominic Smith - 14-year-old singer who sang Unchained Melody
The Free Runners - parkour acrobatic team
Luke & Charlotte - junior ballroom dancers
MD Productions - urban dance troupe
Paul Potts - opera singer
Mel's Klever K9s - line dancing dogs
The other 14 June semi final winner is Damon Scott with the monkey puppet, Bubbles. In the semi final, Bubbles was miming to a Michael Jackson song.
Damon Scott was The Judge's Choice, when it was between Damon Scott and Dominic Smith (who sang Michael Jackson I'll Be There).
Paul Potts is a favorite to win ... from Nessun Dorma through to Time To Say Goodbye ... Simon Cowell is impressed! We all are :-)

It's strange that the one judges grandfather had just died before this performance, because MY grandfather died to this song. We had a CD player in the hospital room...we played this and West Side Story...his favorite musical.

Pretty amazing how an ordinary sensitive man can have such great hidden talent. He really made me cry the first time and made me change my way of living even. I am shy too and don't trust myself. He gaved me a valuable lesson and now I'm trying my best to find my "hidden talent" and keep on following my dreams :). THANKS, PAUL !
Immaculate voice, his voice does not have the overly thick, almost clotted feel to it that some opera singers are prone to. It is simply a wonderful voice, and anyone who can give me the shivers just by opening their mouth has earned my admiration ten fold.

Makes you wonder how many more naturally talented people there are in the world who are stuck in dead end jobs, too scared or insecure in themselves to pursue something they were born to do. Painters, singers, poets, sculptors...God given talents that unfortunately in today's world doesn't put food on the table.

I can't Believe the reaction Simon and Pierce had, and Making us cry shows the emotion and passion people have to Music, it creates a place of comfort and drive, I felt the shivers and power , the energy Paul had during his performance , was may I say remarkable , I just melted away with his performance in amazement. Giving the gift of Music is a great gift to all Man Kind. Paul Potts is amazing. I can't wait for a release of His first Album. It's coming, I know it.

no it isn't. The audience is showing their appreciation and support ( a LOT of them Welsh I bet). It's a talent show not the fkin opera full of po-faced snobs.
You show your appreciation after the fucking performance, not in the middle of it. It's disrespectful and it ruins it for other people. It's basic manners.

I sang this song for a competition and as a goodbye present to a favorite vocal coach of mine...It always has a special place in my heart...And he does this just wonderfully...Many cannot do this song the justice is deserves~

Well said BlueBaron. I have just seen him for the first time. And for the first time in many years I was reduced to tears. I think what does it for me is that God has shown his greatness in a quiet un-assuming gentle man. We can all learn something from Paul Potts.
he is an inspiration... he trully is... is amazing how this guy made me cry... i think is the story behind him... this made my day... and make you look how wonderfull life can be even when had some troubles in the past... again breathtaking... and for all the trash talkers: try to sing like him.... I watched one chance, his biopic and cried . So I thought I should hear the man himself, and just cried throughly again. The emotion in his voice hits one straight in heart.
