Every time I landed a hit but left myself wide open I groaned. There was a lot of groaning. I said it before, but your sword placement is pretty good, so youre good practice for me to get out of my habit of attacking without any defense. I seem to attack as soon as I see an opening, then go for a quick snappy cut or thrust, hoping speed will win out at the expense of defense. But if their sword placement and structure is good, im guaranteeing they hit me. I would agree with the half-hearted feints. On my end they just looked like you moving your sword around, rather than "oh hes about to hit me, better defend that area". I dont think staying in one guard for too long is an issue. It really depends on what the opponent is doing. Though if theyre static with their guard, and youre in a guard that sets you up for a good counter to whatever theyd likely do from their position, theres no reason to switch it up (like I seem to do a lot, for no reason). Unless youre trying to bait them into doing something, I suppose. But thats just my opinion.
