Great video as always Dustin! Just something DIY you might consider if you want to mount your iPad mini on any controller, I swapped out the clamp style holder to a cheap Amazon magnetic mount which allows me to use a full size iPad and works fantastic.

Were you able to resolve the registration issue?
What would be a good improvement would be the ability to swap out the camera right at the actual gimbal, instead of having to unscrew the whole gimbal bracket and cable.

Ah yes! I think I should get one of these some day. This seems like it is basically a DJI phantom but waterproof. Also the mini 3 is coming out soon so I can’t wait for you to review it if you will

It is a very good drone got ours 1week ago very power efficient we did 6 bait drops at 410m for fishing very stable in wind also
Just a FYI the ball end Allen tool should only be used after loosening the bolt with the regular Allen part of the tool that's why it stripped

This video has been extremely helpful. I cannot get my remote to connect to the drone. Any advice my cell phone connects but just video try again, but maybe I’m missing something by the way in the video.

Let me ask you. I live in Seattle. It is so hard to know where to buy this product. We get rain it seems 24/7. But trying to find a place to buy this product is horrible which leads me to feel like they dont give a crap about there product

Any ideas on how to resolve the constant beeping on the Swellpro sd4 drone? The trick of inserting the battery firmly does not work.
Hmmmmmmmm liked the idea of the built in screen on the 3 plus now we are asked to pay more then have to go off and buy an I pad, Nahhhhhhh don't get it thats just another thing i need to mess with to go fishing. I think the trident cuda copter has more features for rth safety but also no built in screen.

Nice review. Just a bit of friendly criticism though, maybe in future set your camera focus and exposure manually. Both were fluctuating quite wildly which made some parts of the video hard to watch

Hey Dustin very nice unboxing video of the sd4. I got mine in June of this year. I currently help swellpro betta test for them. As for battery time I have done extensive testing I have 3 batteries, with the bait release and camera and gimbal I am getting about 17 to 22 min per flight with nothing on the drone I get close to 26 min flight time. As for the app the android version is being revamped and should be out any day the ios version works quiet well. Now for distance my partner in Chicago got around 2k. Would be nice to see what ur getting in ur tests. I will tell she flies great also works well with the pontoons in boat mode. The cam gimbal extender also works well too. Oh by the way the flip mode works very well.
i could be wrong, but the ipad mini isnt waterproof/waterresistent, so thats probably why they didnt make it fit into the phone holder. Where as most(atleast arround here) phones do come with some level of waterresistent/waterproof.
Also I got mine today.. seemed very delayed in control response out of the box.

Dustin did you have to register the dji fpv drone????
What I want to know is if this thing is truly waterproof? I've seen mixed reviews on Amazon where some people state that it's not really waterproof and only water resistant and if any splashes of water get on top of the drone that it will cause it to fail.
I'd say water proof unless you get a defective one or you have it upside down or fully submerged for more than a minute or so... Then water could work it's way into pressure valve.

Shame its such an expensive drone for what it is in quality.. but you should suggest this needs to get a fish sonar payload. it would probably be worth the price probably :)
You will see a version with wireless sonar in a short time in the future。

Yeah great the controller is waterproof but your phone or tablet isnt. Stupidest DJI knock off controller i have ever seen. its a peice of shit. . Swellpro should use the Spry or the SD 3 intergrated monitor controllers.
The SplashDrone is pricey but if you live in a very congested area like I do, one of the best places to fly is over the river. I you run into trouble while over water you lose your quad. If my quad is attacked by a bird or tree over land I usually can fix it. If it goes in the river I never see it again. You don't have that problem with the SplashDrone. It also would be great for rescue.
