Barry - Thanks for that tidbit of information. It kinda burst my bubble because I thought H&J were voiced by two different people, with one of them being from New Yawk. At 2:22 : "Hurry-up with that turkey I'm staaahved." I stopped to see if anyone commented on that, and saw your comment. I looked up Dayton Allen and saw that he and Art Carney were High School friends in NY, so that's why Dayton's accent matches Art"s. I also see that Dayton also voiced Deputy Dawg (maybe Muskie, the Sherrif, and Vincent T Gopher too?), and Dayton's brother voiced Chumley of Tennessee Tuxedo fame. Sigh, these cartoon characters were a big part of my childhood. And I carry that cartoonish mirth with me to this day. I truly feel sorry for the kids of today who have not experienced 60's children's television programming. Edit: To make a long post even longer, we can't leave out Kudos for the band playing the music for these cartoons. I always have enjoyed their style but when I was older, I noticed the Heckle and Jeckle where the band played the Overture to the Opera Figaro and the horns, I assume saxophones, and/or clarinets very closely mimicked the violins of the original. Well done. Edit 2: I remember another HJ episode where they are on a boat and something needed a "squoit of earl"😅. I have a neighbor who was originally from Hudson County NJ and he told me his "terlet" was plugged up, and I thought he was kidding me, but he was not, because I heard him refer to that convenience again as "terlet".
Missing those old days 😢😢❤
I've Seen This One On Other Streaming Service Packages!
Voices by Dayton Allen. Great loose animation by Jim Tyer!
