Lol a generic star wars movie by the numbers , I didn't expect more. The fanboys protested the last jedi so much that not only did they decide to go back to J J but they decided to go back to the original trilogy. I don't know why they brought back the emperor and the title doesn't make sense. The fact that when Johnson directed the last jedi they didn't have a clear map of what the story will be like Marvel does shows the incompetence and lack of management at Lucas Films. I'll be the first to admit that the last jedi was aweful but they took risks , I'm not a star wars fan and I didn't even watch the old movies but i feel like I watched it seeing how everyone and their mother are talking about the whole time, people are stuck in that period of time and they don't wanna move on and experience new stuff and as long as you keep this fanboyism and clinging to the original trilogy they'll keep pumping garbage like this. @@AzureWind91 Well i know every much there is to know about them and I hate the fact that they're going back to the old stuff , Also , Kylo Ren just said in the last jedi that he should throw away everything behind him and start over , and now he's making another helmet and taking back his old Identity ? And they're doing it literally in the next movie so what the hell are they thinking. Also the problems that I stated with the management have nothing to do of me watching the old trilogy. When Marvel brings a director on , they sit down with them and say : ok , we want you to hit this beat and this and this and in between you get creative freedom to put your take on the movie. And when Lucas films brought Rian Johnson , they gave him too much freedom without taking into account that the last jedi is a part of a larger whole. J J gave some hints that his idea of Rey's parentage was different from Johnson's take on it. Look , I defended Rey from people calling her a Mary Sue because she lived on a hostile planet alone her whole life so she learned how to survive, but I couldn't defend the last jedi or the fact that now they're going all the way back to the original films. I know what it's like to fly into space because I've read the autobiographies of astronauts, but I've never personally experienced it. Do yourself a service and watch the original movies. That aside let me get out a few points. I don't understand why people say TLJ "took risks." What risks? The whole Palpatine was unknown, why can't Snoke be unknown? is fundamentally flawed. Palpatine always had an established backstory even back in Episode IV. The novelization calls him a politician who manipulated people so he could become emperor then shut himself away from the world. It's small but it's enough. We have nothing with Snoke. Not to mention Palpatine was introduced when we knew nothing about the Star Wars universe. Snoke's been introduced after 6 movies. We know too much about how this universe works now to not have an explanation.

The problem with the rise of the Skywalker is that when i saw the title I just thought to myself : these guys couldn't have chosen a safer title or a story to go to. I had low expectations when it came to Kathleen Kennedy but even I didn't expect her to go this low. Look , I'll admit , the emperor could just be a force ghost but I would've preferred they moved on to something knew. back when they were making the force awakens they talked about how this is a star wars for the next generation and a passing of the torch. And the fact that they back peddeled on everything they said just shows me that they're just making this movie in a reactionary way and pandering to the angry mob.

I know this because he's already had his world view destroyed once before, and he rose back up. In the original trilogy, he idolized his father, and it was a driving force for him wanting to become a Jedi. (He even says so to Yoda in Episode V, a detail you probably wouldn't know if you didn't watch it). Then the reveal comes that Vader, this murderous enforcer of the Empire he hates, is his father. The image Luke had of his father and his reason for following in his footsteps is shattered. Despite this, he stands back up and goes to face Vader again, with the hope that he can redeem him. You can not, CAN NOT, tell me that when his nephew, the son of his best friend and sister, starts down the same path, he would just give up and run away to an island to die. ESPECIALLY when it was kind of his fault Kylo took that final step that night in the temple. That is incredibly irresponsible, and pushes my suspension of disbelief way beyond what I'll tolerate.
