Thank you Kappy for filming this beautiful old house. It must have been very grand. So sad to see it left full of trash and uncared for. I enjoyed it.❤
I noticed that too. I just bought a 1910 hoosier cabinet and would love a pie safe. Besides these, beautiful houses themselves, the contents of these places make me sad for the neglect and loss they represent. I would love to have that gorgeous table in the last upstairs room.
The drawers were made with "dovetail" joints. It's one of the ways to tell how old the piece is. It's a shame this house has went so far downhill. Someone was proud of it at the time it was built. Keep up your great work!
Virtually all joints in any piece of furniture above IKEA quality are dovetails. The uniformity and close spacing of that joinery suggests a factory piece from the early- to mid-20th century. It's a nice enough piece, but not really very valuable.
Absolutely loved the staircase!!! The fireplaces were beautiful and all the shiplap !! You just can’t get that quality wood anymore.... upstairs was a little potbelly wood stove... that furniture was gorgeous! Thank you Kappy
Got to say what a lovely old House, some of the furniture would be Worth some money. Between the table towards the end and the dresser drawer and those couple of armoires Great craftsmanship you’ll never see again

Great house! This house was added onto several times throughout the years. The main section is the earliest section, probably early 1830's. This section has the prettiest Fireplace mantels and the fireplace openings are bricked in the "Rumford" style . Most of the larger dark monogamy furnishings are of the empire period and probly were original pieces of furniture for the early section the bricked columned front porch is probably a replacement . I can tell that you like door knobs and usually point out the round porcelain ones which are usually late 1890's , early 1900's. Look for the early iron box locks and the early thumb latches. Love your exciting tours of these great pieces of architecture!

It's a shame that this house was let go to waste. Can't imagine carrying anything heavy up them steps. Another most excellent video Kappy!
You are 1 brave soul Kappy! What a house. That staircase, all those porches, woodwork...just beautiful
Gorgeous!! The woodwork and the antique furniture left behind is so beautiful. A rather large family must have lived there originally. Maybe it was used as a Bed and Breakfast later on? Thanks Kappy for another amazing find. Stay safe and can’t wait for the next one. 😊
It was originally built as a hotel! Sits right in the middle of this nice old small southern town! Thanks for watching!!
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 actually looks to have been built as a single-family home, four rooms, two up two down. You can see the vertical seam on the end of the house where the first edition was made.
Thank you Kappy! So beautiful!! Be safe always!
Sad the furniture can’t be saved . Love the way you appreciate old stuff.
That table in last room its very old an very collectable . Your are good at focusing on the right stuff when filming
Another great video, Mr. Kappy. Thank you!
That was a beautiful table upstairs
Very cool house! Tons of very old stuff left behind! Can only imagine it in all it's glory ! Great explore!
I actually live not far from this house. That Piano upstairs was given to the family by President William Taft and his wife as a present. The Baker family originally lived in this house and were a prominent family in the area!
HUGE HOUSE!!! Loved that unique table upstairs, that looked like gears under the table top WOW 😲 Thanks Kappy for the video 👍👍🌟🌟
4 cranking the two sides apart to add a center leaf.
It’s so beautiful from the outside!
Nice house! That oak table at the end is gorgeous.
I Loved this video! BEAUTIFUL SOUTHERN HOME!
Thank you for showing us the staircase as you walked down! That was a unique set of stairs. never seen that in any other houses. I wish you would of walked up the porch staircase as much as you could. Maybe it wasn't safe. I would've loved to see the porch and front door details. Great job and thanks again for the video.
Such a great find Kappy!
