You don’t know how many people wish they could lead the life you do. We have a small cottage in northeast Wisconsin, and like you, I always try to do some outdoor work when I’m there. I get some exercise, and fall asleep in front of the wood stove with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows.
So true! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts-I really appreciate that. Sounds wonderful, and now I want marshmallows too, ha ha. All the best to you, and God bless!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your kind words. I creaqted a playlist where you can watch the full series in the right order just in case. God bless you! th-cam.com/play/PLldNVV1QpPYz9P5jsDW_FJ0VqQR9pCfBd.html
You've reminded me of the pleasures of washing dishes outdoors. Fresh air, sometimes robustly fresh. And birds. Birds flying overhead, nesting or perching on the edge of the woods, searching through the forest floor for food, once in awhile visiting me and singing. A farm was nearby with cows and grain, so birds were attracted there to the grain. The small clearing where I lived a couple of hills and low places from the farm, found me washing dishes and soaking up whatever weather we had that day. Cooler and much colder days I washed inside the cabin on top of the cookstove, warm air, warm water, but no birds. Love watching your videos.
Billy and Lucky seem to be adapting nicely to their new environment. Glad to see you are also doing well. I got tip for you: when it's very sunny, hang your clothes inside out to keep the fading down to a minimum. Stay well and God bless you.
@NorthWoodsOutsider my little Flik looks like a tabby with gray and black and he does have little pink on his beautiful nose. I just love my kitties!!! Yours are so sweet. God bless you all too!
Yeah, still have a lot to get rid of, ha ha. I’ve already been to the dump like 11 times this year alone, and there’s still way more trash on the land. But I’ll get there, that’s for sure! Thanks for stopping by-have a great weekend, and God bless!
Wow, that’s an honor! I can relate to some of his writings, especially "Walden." I didn’t know about him before but did my research. Thank you for your message. God bless you!
You are working very hard and it shows! 💪 Billy chased Lucky WAY up in that tree! Did she have trouble coming down?😮 They are Blissed Out! 😊😻😻 Best Wishes from The American West 🙏
Thanks for stopping by and for your message. Oh no, they learned to climb down in reverse after a few hard times figuring it out on the taller trees, and now they’re absolute experts. Thanks for the wishes and greetings from the north. God bless you!
My laundry doesn't look that good and I have electricity with a fancy machine attached. At least it made me feel better when the wheelbarrow toppled over. 😉 PS My cat saw your Billy and again became very excited. They have the same color and markings and she seems to recognize this. She doesn't get interested when other cats come in view. Just Billy.
Ha ha, that’s cute! I’d love to see that. Does she have a pink nose and paws as well? Billy is definitely the most social cat I know-at least with me, since he absolutely hates other people. I didn’t realize my laundry looks good at all! :D Thanks for the kind words, and God bless you!
The property is starting to look quite spiffy! It’s a job I continually put off, but once I get started clearing and sorting, I find I quite enjoy the process…and feels so good to get organized and get rid of “stuff”…always more stuff! Where does it all come from?!
It was probably collected over the years by the previous owner, and now it has to go-slowly but surely. I’ve already made 11 trips with a full van to the local dump, and there’s still plenty left to take. For the bigger stuff, I’ll need help from a nearby farmer in the spring. God bless you!
So I see that your van is a Toyota diesel Proace work van. I thought you built that sturdy workbench in your cabin, but maybe you built it in a workshop. I would be scared to start a forest fire with all the sparks coming off of that saw you used to cut up the metal! Have a good week !
I built it in that little shed in front of my cabin, as you saw in my recent video-not in the cabin itself. The plan is to use the shed as my workshop in the future and organize all my tools there. The forest here is pretty wet most of the time, so we don’t have many problems with bushfires. Have a great week, my friend, and God bless you!
The first batch was from the rotten scaffold, as you could see it was already decayed. The other boards looked good but were green-treated, and we don’t burn them here for health reasons. Besides, they don’t burn that good as well, you know?

Thanks you are welcome. God bless.
Nice job man. Get rid of the things you don't need. It looks nicer and you feel better. We have the same in the North of Sweden.

I would love to go do this
Absolutely it's work but fun at the same time. God bless you.
I'm thinking of the quiet days & the relaxing peaceful evenings spent under the covers with two very great furballs laying nearby. 😸✌️🐾🐾🇱🇷🌻

You remind me of Henry David Thoreau as he sought to discover nature, his surroundings, and himself on Walden Pond. I'm enjoying watching you.

reuse some of the boards are good
Yeah you just cant keep everything forever it's just too much sometimes.

Have you ever tried to start that tractor?❤
Yes, I’d love to, but it didn’t start-maybe because it doesn’t have a motor :D. Thanks for cruising by, my friend. God bless you!

Thank you and Welcome to the family. God bless you!

I would use all that wood for firewood especially if it could not be recycled
I don’t feel comfortable blowing that poison into the air or burning it inside the cabin, which is why I decided to dump it, you know.
Why dont you burn scrap wood and branches? The ashes can help your compost or garden soil.
The branches were too rotten and wet, and the boards were green-treated. We don’t burn those over here. God bless!
Why is there no burn pit. Why you wasting the time loading it in the truck
I mean I have a burn pit. God bless you
What are you going to do with those boards? 🛹
They will end up at the "local" dump
@NorthWoodsOutsider but why? Why dont you use them as firewood? Most of other boards seems healthy.
The first batch was from the rotten scaffold, as you could see it was already decayed. The other boards looked good but were green-treated, and we don’t burn them here for health reasons. Besides, they don’t burn that good as well, you know?
@NorthWoodsOutsider didnt know that.
No worriues we're here to learn from each other. :)
